I'm going to lose 2 & 1/2 stone

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 25/03/2018 22:36

By 25th June ...

I go on holiday the next day and I just refuse to be fat in 35 degree heat. I last went away two years ago and I'd never experienced this thing called 'chub rub.' I experienced it alright then! Hideous

I'll weigh in tomorrow and record it in here. I'll list my daily food and exercise sessions and I'm sure anyone reading will be positively riveted.

I'm planning on the 8 week blood sugar diet I think - it gives fast results but you're still eating real food and I just don't have it in me to do the whole shake thing right now.

I do Pilates around 3 it so times a week - mainly because it doesn't get my heart rate up and my make up stays intact. I'm working up to something that actually burns some fat. On the plus side - I can touch my toes

I'm 5 ft 4 and I'm very overweight really. I have a wardrobe filled with every size from 8 to 14 and since Christmas I've been firmly in the 14s and today I reached for my only size 16 pair of jeans and they bloody fit

I've had enough of the junk food I've been living on so day one is tomorrow and I WILL lose these couple of stones. Not aiming for skinny - I just want to feel comfortable

You're welcome to join me and we can keep each other going. And then, come June 25th, we can disappear into the ether again

Or I'll just talk to myself? Let's see

So you're sticking to just 800 calories a day roly? My day isn't remotely healthy so I won't post it but I've been for a run and I've logged everything on mfp and still have some calories left for dinner. Not a complete loss then!

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 26/03/2018 16:18

That’s the plan Lydia. I can’t swear this will happen though. I really struggle as I’m a non egg eating vegetarian. I’m doing OK so far.. jut eating an apple and 12 walnut halves ... yes I’m the saddo who counted them

Hello everyone I'm pretty new to Mumsnet haven't posted before but would I be able to join please? I first put on 2 stone 5 years ago when pregnant with my son taking me to 13 stone- never lost it. Then got pregnant again and had my baby girl 12 weeks ago now weigh 14.12 Blush feel miserable as a size 18 (prob could fit a 20 lower half if honest) slimming world wasn't great for me as I need to be really strict to stick to it. Has anyone done weight watchers?

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 26/03/2018 17:09

Welcome Tiger. Just jump in and post however you fancy

I did WW years ago - I think the fact that I could spend my points on chocolate meant it didn't work for me - I have literally no off button when it comes to sweet stuff!

I'm actually a big believer in programmes such as Rebelfit ... the posts make so much sense to me. However they're not useful right now when I just want to lose the bulk of this weight ASAP.

I hate feeling so big so I fully sympathise.

OP posts:
buckleten · 26/03/2018 17:29

Can I join too? I have steadily put on weight since last summer, and need to lose a good two and a half stone. I haven't dared to weigh lately but I know I am over 12 and a half stone, maybe 13!

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 26/03/2018 17:55

Thy was me Buckle. I knew that I definitely wasn’t my usual 11 stone that’s for sure!

OP posts:
feesh · 26/03/2018 18:12

Can I join you? I’m 5’8” and about 80kg which is about 12.6 stones according to Google. I want to get to 65kg by July 6th, which I think is about 10.2 stones.

I’m LFHC but I was doing it last month and barely shifted anything - then had a week off and put it all back on again! So I’m not feeling too hopeful. But I’ll give it a go! I started again today, so this is perfect timing. I’m breastfeeding so I can’t do anything too drastic.

tiger29 · 26/03/2018 18:26

Thank you Roly I will have a look at Rebelfit sounds interesting.

I think I'm initially happy with losing 2 stone so will aim for this for end of June. Like Feesh I am breastfeeding so can't cut calories too much. Doesn't help that I'm so tired I keep reaching for the chocolate!

AuntLydia · 26/03/2018 19:00

I'm going to try and just lose slowly I think. I like the message from rebelfit and there are some good blog posts on the website. I really do need to make some long lasting changes as I'm sick of my weight yo-yoing

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 26/03/2018 19:03

Yes rebelfit is excellent and just plain common sense. I'm not in the right headspace for it right now though - I need a bit of structure so opening a book and choosing something to eat is the way forward for me at the moment

OP posts:
RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 26/03/2018 19:06

Ok so I've finished eating for the day

Food times ...

Yogurt
Pumpkin seeds
Blueberries
Whey protein powder

Quorn
Asparagus
Sugarsnap peas
Soy sauce

Apple
Walnuts

Piece of cheese

Total cals consumed - 706

I'll aim for 900 tomorrow to even it out to 800 a day

SunnyNights · 26/03/2018 20:02

Can I join please!

I am going on holiday in July and need to be slimmer - otherwise I just know I won't enjoy it as much.

I am 5.5, and around 13 stone. Want to be 11 when we go away.

I'm doing WW (from today), and working out three times a week, running, fitness blender etc (also, from today).

Zazu44 · 26/03/2018 20:04

I'm the worst dieter ever, stop start stop start, trying to decide between LCHF or SW? What does everyone recommend

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 26/03/2018 21:46

Zazu - personal choice really. Low carb will knock the weight off quicker if combined with keeping a little eye on calorie intake (so no mainlining handfuls of cashews) but something like SW is more user friendly as you can eat bread etc

XRayYankee · 27/03/2018 09:38

Morning all. We'll I did manage to resist TV snacking last night, so I'm all set for today Smile.

I'm aiming for 800 calories. Just had a black tea and contemplating breakfast of oatmeal made with water and an apple. I've checked in the Blood Sugar book and that is ok and comes in at 168 calories.

Going to put today's meal plan into mfp this morning. I find that helps me to stick to healthier choices, as I know up front what I'm having. If I eat mindlessly throughout the day and then log my meals, it's very easy to either forget something I've had or exceed the allowance for the day.

I've tried SW and find the 'all you can eat' mentality doesn't work for me long term, as I just look for ways to pig out. I need smaller portions of more nutritious foods.

Scribblegirl · 27/03/2018 09:44

Hi all,

I'm in. I'm getting married on 28 July so it's now or never! 2.5 stone to lose as well (12.5st to 10st).

I'm going to follow Slimming World style as it's worked for me in the past, saving every penny though so won't be going to meetings.

Sitranced · 27/03/2018 10:45

Oh this is so timely. I also need to lose 2.5 well 3 really by the end of june for a holiday. I don't have scales at home but I was in boots yesterday and weighed myself for the first time in months on one of those machines and didn't like the numbers it spat out at me. So its time to get cracking.

I don't have the head space for a serious planning diet so I'll be logging on myfitnesspal for now and try not to go over my allowance. Now we're getting more daylight hours I'll start cycling to work more rather than getting the bus everyday.

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 27/03/2018 10:53

Morning all

Well I survived the night and am about to eat breakfast. Total full fat yogurt with a teaspoon of chia seeds and some blueberries. Comes in at 200 calories

One day at a time eh?

I'm going to weigh in on Monday morning. Anyone else?

OP posts:
athingthateveryoneneeds · 27/03/2018 11:11

ok, I'm joining you.

I've been calorie counting for the past month with an app called MyNetDiary. I've lost 13lbs so far, which is pretty good going! Been eating 1700 calories a day, thereabouts, but I'm not including any exercise or breastfeeding calories.

5'8
13st 10lb

So not obese anymore, but not ideal either! I'm trying to get the baby weight off and improve fitness. Goal is 11 st 10 or lower, just to get me into the normal BMI range.

2 stone to go.

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 27/03/2018 11:24

A thing - good luck. 13lbs is good going so it's definitely working for you

X - keep us posted. 800 calories is hard but doable when you're making the right choices. And you hit the nail on the head - what's needed is smaller portions of better food - for me anyway.

I usually don't bother eating defined meals. I just graze all day long on sweets and cake and sandwiches

And then I wonder why I have stacked on a couple of stone in literally months Hmm

OP posts:
Heartshapedfairylights · 27/03/2018 12:00

Oh, I need to join too.

I need to lose about three stone, preferably before August when I go on holiday.

I have just joined a gym and have been given a HIIT programme to do. I’m also trying to follow MFP. I’m staying under my calories but I can’t get the macros correct.

I think my main problem is that I’m a picker. I pick at bits and pieces throughout the day then I don’t feel like a decent meal.

tiger29 · 27/03/2018 12:44

Athing 13 pounds in a month is great! I hope I can achieve that.

From today I'm using an app called nutracheck to count calories and downloaded cto5k today. Did my first run around a local running track with the buggy in the rain so feeling positive today!

I'm a grazer too so really working on not doing this and just eating at set times.
