Hi Smile

I have a significant birthday coming up in 5 weeks time.

I really really want to lose a stone by then. I'm 10st 8lb now. I have been creeping up from 9 1/2 stone since autumn last year. I'm best at 9 1/2 stone, I feel like "me" and my clothes fit properly.

I've been snacking and being lazy. Buying junk I know I don't need. Telling myself I'm going to start "tomorrow" every day but failing by teatime. I really don't want to have this extra stone on my birthday.

Does anyone else fancy joining me for support/tips swapping/motivation? Apparently, if you've made a written commitment, it's 58% more likely to happen than if you only thought it. Or something. All I know is I want to lose this stone and a few buddies along the way would be great Smile

Anyone in with me?

Thanks r00t. It's gone up a bit because of eating junk over the weekend ,but still doable I suppose - motivation for having lots of salad and soup today, ha ha!

Hi everyone, seems to have gone a bit quiet here. I need to get back on things, had a rough couple of weeks and been comfort eating a bit. I think I've managed to not put on a ton but still got more to lose. Who is with me?

cheshiremama89 · 24/05/2018 21:25

I'm with you @Bobbiepin

Trying to get as much off before a week away with family, which will involve eating out DAILY and meals in the evening in which you get what you're given!

I will be eating what I want during that week, as I don't want people knowing I'm trying to lose weight (adds more pressure for me) especially as DS is only 16 weeks

catlover99 · 25/05/2018 14:16

Hi Bobbie I am still with you! I have been lurking but not posting much, but have managed to get close to the target I set when I first joined, although it has taken me slightly longer than the 5 weeks! I am now around 10 st 2 lbs. My first target was 10 st, but my final target is 9st 6, which will take me back to what I was about 6 years ago (before I started my current job, which where I have recently had a lot of stress, which I blame partly for the weight gain). This would also get me properly into the 'healthy' range on the BMI calculator, rather than lurking right at the upper edge of it). Work situation is better now, partly because I am coping with it better, but also because part of the stress was caused by a horrendous boss, but it looks as if he could be on his way out (yippie!!!), which is great as I work in a slightly niche area and have not been able to find a job elsewhere in spite of trying pretty hard.

Anyway, after that slight digression - I have been just doing the eating less and moving more method, except I have not actually been moving that much. I have also been trying to cut down on carbs a bit, so I still have rice and pasta (which I love) but have cut out the bread as much as possible, and when I do have it, I have brown/rye bread instead of white.

My aim now is to increase the amount of exercise I do.

I'm with you Bobbie. Not such a good week for me also. But hanging in there. Not on target this week , but there's next week, so....

Bobbiepin · 25/05/2018 20:29

@cheshiremama89 I can empathise. People keep telling me "you just had a baby, stop worrying about your weight" but I had a baby 7 months ago and its time I bucked up. I hope you enjoy your holiday though. Hopefully there will be healthy options that you can sneak in - steak and veggies rather than cream laden pasta every night.

@catlover I'm pleased things are looking up for you. It's amazing how much problems at work impact on every area of your life. You should give yourself more credit for getting back in the healthy BMI range. You're doing so well.

@moreofme is there a particular reason you aren't doing well this week? Don't wait for Monday to get the mojo going again, crack on with a healthy dinner and get moving tomorrow.

As of this morning I have lost a stone since DD was born (certainly more than 5 weeks ago!) Next target is 10lbs to get down to 11st, which I think was my pre pregnancy weight.

Hi again, really well done Bobbiepin ! My reasons for the bad week were bad planning, tiredness at work , not having healthy stuff to snack on because didn't go grocery shopping in time and consumption of rice ! Better last week ..back on track hopefully .Thank you for making me think ( again!) why I fell off the wagon !

catlover99 · 03/06/2018 19:57

I have had a lovely week of visiting people and eating and drinking all sorts of very yummy things. I will not be getting on the scales this week Blush. But as of tomorrow I hope to get back on track.

Bobbiepin I think you are very impressive - I think the sooner you get back into some normal routine after having a baby the better, but it can be so difficult!

Moreofme are we back to the basmati rice? Grin. I have been trying to cut down the carbs, and not eating pasta and bread is no problem, but the idea of no rice feels impossible!

Bobbiepin · 03/06/2018 23:23

Thank you @catlover99 I was determined to get exercising as soon as I could & was back at parkrun when DD was 7 weeks old but my body has changed and I've struggled with sciatica so needing to do something different.

I have signed up for a post natal work out class (can take DD with) - first session tomorrow so kicking off a healthy week.

I know what you mean about the rice. Pasta is my weakness. I could happily eat pasta for every meal!

moreofme · 04/06/2018 07:58

catlover yes ..the Basmati Blush !
I had quite a bit even yesterday after giving it a miss for a few days. Although I did go for a long walk also , it probably wasn't even close to cancelling out the rice but better than not having gone walking.
Bobbiepin hope you enjoy the class today .

catlover99 · 04/06/2018 21:27

The week so far has started well, feeling very inspired and had a big food shop buying lots of healthy things. So hopefully it will be a good week and I will be able to recover from a week of happy indulgence.

Bobbie sciatica is horrible. Hope the post natal class went well. Park run 7 weeks postnatal, wow.

moreofme I have factored Basmati into my weekly mealplan - the idea of non at all is too depressing. So Thursday will be curry night with Basmati rice and daal and sweet potato and coconut curry. My theory is that if I have a bit every now and again I will not miss and crave it too much Smile.

Bobbiepin · 05/06/2018 23:25

@catlover99 it didn't last long I'm afraid.
The class was really good and the woman does a yoga course too so I'm signing up for that. Feeling quite positive about it all. DD played in the play pen (baby jail) until she fell asleep and napped for half the class.

I think factoring in your vices is a great idea, you'll be much less likely to binge on them later.

cheshiremama89 · 06/06/2018 09:29

Well after a naughty Sunday, it has set me back a WEEK!
Is that possible?
I seemed to have gained 2lbs!

It really wasn't that bad... as far cheat days go

Cinnamon and raisin bagel thin
Light and free yoghurt

Ham sandwich & fries
Glass of champagne

Roast
Nutella cheesecake

I'm seriously worried, I've worked so hard and have a family holiday to wales next week where I'm just going to have to "go with it" as we're taking it in turns to cook, and will be eating out every lunch time.

I know how the smallest set back demotivates me Sad
