Hi Smile

I have a significant birthday coming up in 5 weeks time.

I really really want to lose a stone by then. I'm 10st 8lb now. I have been creeping up from 9 1/2 stone since autumn last year. I'm best at 9 1/2 stone, I feel like "me" and my clothes fit properly.

I've been snacking and being lazy. Buying junk I know I don't need. Telling myself I'm going to start "tomorrow" every day but failing by teatime. I really don't want to have this extra stone on my birthday.

Does anyone else fancy joining me for support/tips swapping/motivation? Apparently, if you've made a written commitment, it's 58% more likely to happen than if you only thought it. Or something. All I know is I want to lose this stone and a few buddies along the way would be great Smile

Anyone in with me?

Morning all! Finally found the motivation to get back into it after a whirlwind of birthday celebrations & trips away. It’s been great but although I made it to my half target I’ve slid up the scales again Sad but I’m back on it now, summer (and summer clothes!) are calling!! Considering doing slimfast for 7 days for a kickstart. I can’t do it longer than that but it’s useful for starting off again sometimes.

How is everyone else doing?x

Hello! Hope you had a wonderful birthday and amazing trips Sunday. How was Norway? I've not had much success this week - a pathetic 1/2 lb loss but it's 1/2 a lb in the right direction right?😂 I'll have to build in 30-60 minutes exercise most days from now on I think as dieting alone with a proper walk 2-3 x a week is clearly not enough. I probably could be tighter with the carb cutting but I think I'd be starving on work days...

SundayGirls · 07/05/2018 14:29

Hi R00, and thanks! It was all wonderful Smile

Half a pound off is definitely in the right direction!! Well done! What kind of exercise are you going to be adding in?

I’m on day 2 of the slimfast and so far it’s going well, I don’t feel hungry and it’s helping break the snacking pattern I’d got in to. I don’t think I will keep it up for long, but a week to help get me started again would be good!

Hi everyone, I've had a bad few days food wise. Had a lot of things on, all involving food and alcohol and its all gone down the pan. I even had a few chocolate digestives last night. I'm scared to get on the scales and see the damage. I need a motivation boost! Gotta get back on it tomorrow (or maybe tonight, with a healthy dinner).

I'll hit the scales in the morning and let you all know how bad it is!

R00tat00tt00t · 09/05/2018 19:00

Hello, I'm having a rubbish day food wise (literally). I've eaten more junk today than I have in the whole of the past month! 3 (small) bags of crisps, a bag of maltesers and a hobnob! Picking at the kids tea while I wait for DH to come home so we can have ours. Going to write today off I think and start afresh tomorrow.

Bobbiepin · 09/05/2018 20:26

Put the kids' food down R00t! Maltesers are you worth it though!

I felt a bit better about eating today. 3lbs up which motivated me to say no to the hobnobs! Currently on 600 calories with dinner to go so a much better day. Got some hard work to do to make up for the last weekend.

SundayGirls · 10/05/2018 08:38

Hi R00 and Bobbie! R00, I’m the same as you - a little relapse last night, just felt crap about a few things and got that “what the heck” feeling so I had a few of the sweets from the kids sweet tin, a couple of crumpets etc. Spoilt my loss for today but I’m on a fresh start today! The main thing is not to throw the towel in completely, just keep picking ourselves up the next day x

Bobbie - you can do it! I’m setting myself 3lbs off target by Monday. It’s hoing to be hard, but I am determined! More events are coming up this summer so I really have to make the effort.

Thanks Bobbie Grin
Yes Sunday, back in the saddle today. Need to go and do a quick shop to get more salad, veg and protein rich stuff to base meals around though. Not as simple as it should be with two kids in tow...
See you on "Weigh-in Sunday"!

twinkledag · 11/05/2018 15:32

I have eaten too much today and really regret it :(

DS got me up at 5.15 so I have been up aaagggggeeees and eaten to combat the tiredness!

I had a bowl of cocopops (40g) at 5.30am
Bacon sandwich – no spread – at 10am
Chicken salad, no dressing, with olives, at lunchtime.

And then there were muffins and cakes at work and I picked – cut off, say, 3 slivers, didn’t eat a whole big slice.

And diet lemonade so now feeling really bloated.

I have 12 days and I want to lose at least another half a stone!

twinkledag · 11/05/2018 15:45

I just realised I also ate a bag of crisps and some fruit!
I think it’s the bread – I don’t usually eat it so now feeling really bloated!

Bobbiepin · 12/05/2018 08:27

twinkledag that's not too bad, what did you have for dinner?

I'm a bit up and down with food at the moment. When I have naughty things I'm trying to balance them out a bit. I had mc donalds on Thursday but had fish and veg for dinner, no carbs at all. I've dropped the 3lbs I put on over the bank holiday weekend so hoping the loss continues before next weigh in on Monday. I hate looking at the graph on my fitness pal when it's going up!!

r00t have you managed a couple of healthier days?

I'm afraid it all went to pot at dinner time. Had chicken casserole which was fine then a roll with cheese, 2 glasses of wine and a bar of dark choc!!!

Back on it today, started the day with an omelette.

Bobbiepin · 12/05/2018 12:53

Oh well, we all have those days. Eggs are a great start to the day.

I did a boot camp this morning, and been attacking the garden for a while. I'm gonna hurt so much tomorrow 😂

moreofme · 12/05/2018 14:41

Hi all...still losing lbs, thankfully ..but at what feels like snail's pace ! Bobbie I've been gardening as well, already tired.

R00tat00tt00t · 14/05/2018 09:30

Morning all! Loving this gorgeous weather, makes it much easier to get out for walks etc. Still making very little progress with weight loss here (another 1/2lb this week) despite almost daily walks and smaller portions etc. I am feeling less sluggish and you can see the difference around my middle and all the weight lost so far is staying off. Only 2.5 weeks till my first goal post of ~59kg which I'm 1.5kg off. Have several dinners/lunches out this week but will try and choose steak/fish with salad instead of heavier pasta dishes etc. Also going to include a minimum of 30m fast paced walking daily and some upper body work every other day. Wish me luck...

twinkledag · 14/05/2018 11:22

I'm doing well! Was 11st 3.5 on last Monday and 10st 12 this morning :)

Well done more and ROOT on the losses! Bobbie - well done on Bootcamp!

R00tat00tt00t · 14/05/2018 15:46

That's excellent twinkle, well done!

catlover99 · 14/05/2018 20:47

Hi Sunday and everybody else, glad to see this thread is still going! I have been following it, but not posted much. I have been keeping going, with ups and downs, but much motivated by the better weather, and am now 10 st 2 lbs, which means only 2 lbs off my current target of 10 st (and a total loss of 8 lbs since I started). I am really really pleased about it - feel much fitter, and I have now left the overweight zone in the BMI calculator and moved into the upper end of the healthy zone. I am meeting up with some old friends who I have not seen for years in early June, so my goal now is to get to 10 st (or even just below) by then. I know they will not care what my weight is, but I will feel good about it!

I have been trying to cut down a bit on carbs (less bread and pasta), which I think has helped a bit.

Hope everybody else is doing well and enjoying the nice weather.

twinkledag · 14/05/2018 21:02

Well done @catlover99, would love to be your weight!

moreofme · 19/05/2018 10:05

Hi all, how are you ?
Well done catlover ,twinkle and R00t .
I have gone off the mfp a bit now but hope to get back on it again from today. Its just a pain when have to eat out ...I just leave out those entries, no way of knowing the calories etc in restaurant meals!
I read somewhere that just calorie counting can lead to wt. loss involving muscle loss, leading to sagging, particularly over a certain age - so I'm trying to up the exercise now.
Reminder to self - up the fruit and veg, drink more water, prioritize being active over the gazillion other things that need doing.Hope you are all well and enjoying the sun.

R00tat00tt00t · 20/05/2018 08:57

Good morning everyone! I'm very pleased with my weigh in today. I've lost 1kg this week despite having my period (and serious biscuit/crisp cravings), several lunches and dinners out including wine and cocktails. If I could lose another kilo in the next 2 weeks I'd reach my first milestone and that would be amazing. Feeling more motivated now, let's do it!!
Hope you are all doing well and the pounds are falling off... 😊

moreofme · 20/05/2018 13:46

Oh thats really good r00t ! I feel really positive reading your post. You will get to your first landmark weight, I'm sure. I'm hoping to go from my 86.9 kgs( I know Blush ) start to below 80 next week.Today morning the scales showed 80.9 for the first time so I'm hopeful .It's surprising that even though the weight loss has been really slow I still feel motivated - long may that last !
Hope everyone else is doing alright as well.

R00tat00tt00t · 20/05/2018 16:31

You can do it moreofme! 0.9kg is definitely achievable in a week. I think when the deadline is so close the motivation can be high and it's easier to be strict with yourself for diet and exercise when you can count down the days and see the finish line 🏁. That's a huge weight loss so far, well done!
