Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

I bought some little chocolate bars for when i need a chocolate hit.....I ate 6 in one go ☹

glitterbiscuits · 01/03/2018 19:49

This could be me @Pob13. Don’t do it again!

What else have you had?

GreyandGrumpy48 · 01/03/2018 21:35

Doing ok- not worrying too much about meals but have cut right back on snacks and no eating after 7pm seems to be going well. It is hard when it’s so cold though 😞

Hidingtonothing · 01/03/2018 21:46

Shit, massive kfc fail SadAngry (with myself) I'll get me coat Blush

cheesemumma · 02/03/2018 06:29

@pob @Hidingtonothing - haha Grin we've all been there and I'm sure we will again. Don't go!!!!! Just carry on.

I'm fasting with my husband until Easter (vegan) but I've asked someone to buy me a big bar of white lindt chocolate for easier day. I intend on eating the whole thing by myself as soon as the clock strikes 12!!!

cheesemumma · 02/03/2018 06:31

Also @pob the little milky way bars. Have you tried freezing them? They last longer and still satisfy.

glitterbiscuits · 02/03/2018 08:08

I’m assuming everyone is in the UK, if so the weather loans itself to comfort food. Which is harder on a diet.
I’m using options Hot Chocolate to help with my sweet cravings. It’s full of junk but low calorie.
I’m keeping up with skin cream and vitamins. I’ve got a box of hair dye that I’m planning for the weekend. Really need body lotion but so it’s so time consuming.

A new me is under all the flab

We'll done @glitterbiscuits sounds like you're doing an amazing job.

I just went for lunch with a friend I ate half a pizza but it was vegan and I didn't order a sprite which I wanted. I'm hoping it won't have done too much damage!!

cheesemumma · 02/03/2018 10:30

I'm not in the UK at the moment so I don't even have the comfort food excuse. The sun is shining outside!

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 10:55

I'm not in UK either (Belgium). Sun is definitely not shining, it has reached -9°c this week, but no snow!

Not a mid-week report as I only started properly yesterday but replaced one meal with handful of grapes and blueberries and cup of black tea. Also had small cup of broccoli soup when I was craving carbs during the day.

Good idea about the pampering Glitterbiscuits to keep up morale!

Steamcloud · 02/03/2018 10:56

Oh yes, I have also found a weight-loss buddy in the form of my sil. We both need to lose 20kg initially. We are going to be doing weigh-ins on Sundays.

Hidingtonothing · 02/03/2018 12:00

Still feeling guilty but today's a new day Smile Am blaming the snow, we were battling home, it was late and nothing in for dinner so when DH suggested we stop at 'you know where' I caved way too easily Blush lesson learned. Hospital today for a scan (possible fibroids/cysts) so have to drink so much water there's no room for food, which is handy Grin Hope everyone else has a good day.

cheesemumma · 02/03/2018 12:26

@hidingtonothing well done. I'm gonna do the same. Jut have a small dinner and start again tomorrow. Hope everything goes well at hospital.

Lucky11111 · 02/03/2018 12:26

Can I join in too?

I've got about 6 stone to lose and I seem to be playing Russian roulette with my health ...

I KNOW I'm heading for diabetes/heart attack etc cos I've been SO big for SO long ...

I have been relatively ok so far.

But my luck has to run out some time soon Confused

cheesemumma · 02/03/2018 12:41

@lucky11111 it's though isn't it. When I think about it it's scares me silly. I know I need to sort myself out for my family. I have high blood pressure. I'm only 31!!!

Anyway we all have to start somewhere!! Good luck.

glitterbiscuits · 02/03/2018 13:01

Lucky11111 that’s what I think about me. Never been thin, even as a child. I was about 12 stone 5 when I met DH 24 years ago. Never been lighter than 15 stones since then. Have been up to 18stones. He doesn’t care.

It’s not that’s he’s unsupportive, he’s not interested. But I wish be would think about the health aspects fir me.

But it would be lovely if we could have a group of people on this thread with a fair bit of weight to lose so we can support each other

Braved the snow to get supplies from Tesco. Ended up with cookies, jaffa cakes and wine. This week is a write off. I blame the snow have no will power.

glitterbiscuits · 02/03/2018 18:27

Pob13 - can’t you start now? Stick the cookies in the freezer ? Or at least start in the morning.

Pob13 · 02/03/2018 18:31

I fear I am a lost cause. Shoot me now.

cheesemumma · 03/03/2018 03:57

@pob13 you're never a lost cause until you stop trying.

As someone who was once 20st 6lb and currently around 16st 4lb. I realise that I'm ALWAYS going to have food problems. I want to eat an entire family size cake/ tube of pringles etc. And I probably will but I just have to move on and keep trying. Keep going POB.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 03/03/2018 09:23

Away for the weekend and just had a cooked breakfast 😞 I find it really difficult if faced with temptation- at home I have Greek yogurt and berries as that’s all that I have in. Have to hope the extra walking in the snow compensates

fatgirlrunning · 03/03/2018 09:39

Please can I join?

6 stone would do wonders. Weighed in at 18.1 yesterday. We've been snowed in since Tuesday, DC off school all week and apart from a few sledding sessions all I've done is eat.

I started running last year so I've been going stir crazy stuck in. Losing weight will definitely help the runs. 2 stone off just from running but you can't outrun a bad diet.

I've worked out my calories and will eat whatever I fancy as long as I don't go over. I'm fed up of depriving myself then bingeing at the weekend because I can't stand to look at another piece of white fish and broccoli.

I've been following James Smith on FB and he speaks a lot of sense. Lots of swearing though!

Going to go back and read the thread properly now Smile

MUPPETONASTRING · 03/03/2018 09:51

Please can I join (I'm always late) ! I'm 51 and weighed in this morning at 13.2. I'm only 5'5 so need to lose around 3st to be at the top of the 'healthy weight' range. I really need to be here to be accountable but I hate slimming groups and all they stand for. I lost this weight 6 or so years ago and due to a number of health issues (excuses) I'm here having to do it all again. At the moment I'm trying to squash myself into clothes that really don't fit which looks awful but I feel loathe to buy new ones. So today, I'm drinking more water, cutting my portions and generally trying to be mindful of what goes in my mouth ! I'd also like to start a yoga programme so will try and sift through the many options later Good luck everyone !

glitterbiscuits · 03/03/2018 10:03

More the merrier.

I also loathe slimming groups MUPPETONASTRING.**

I’d love to be 13 stone!

Official weigh in day is going to be Monday when I will start with my current weight and loss for the previous week.

Smaller portions, less snacks, a few treats to try to make this sustainable.

As I’ve said a few times in the thread I’m also trying to take better care of myself, with skin care and vitamins.

I have no greys as of last night! I sat in the bath and became “Florida Blonde”! Also no dead skin on my feet.

Still fat though.

OP posts:
MUPPETONASTRING · 03/03/2018 10:21

Cheers Glitterbiscuits.
Right. Monday it is then for the weigh-in. I know I'll be better for doing this. Florida blonde sounds lovely! Which vitamins will you take ?
