I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

Still 12’ 6 here. Cross with myself as I had lost in the week but ate too much over the weekend and back to where I was.

glitterbiscuits · 05/03/2018 10:13

Ok @Pob13 just one mouthful at a time. One biscuit should not lead to a whole packet. Once I start eating I find it hard to stop. At 2lbs a week you could easily be 6 stones lighter by Christmas. And with a heavier starting weight quite probably a good deal less.

I can’t seem to stick to a diet but Im giving it another try. My 1st goal is to get into the 15 stone bracket by Easter.

What’s everyone going to eat today?

Can I join in? Got about 3 1/2 stone to lose, we are still snowed in at the minute so surviving on whatever’s in the house at the minute but can make a proper start once we have been dug out!

EmmaHackettsjamtart · 05/03/2018 10:26

Please may I join you all? I could really do with some weight loss buddies.

I am 41 and weight 14st 3 this morning. I have a few health issues that losing weight would really help and I’d also like to feel my confident in my own skin by September.

It could be a very stressful time as my eldest is off to Secondary and my youngest is due to start school (he struggles with transitions and has a few other issues). I’d really like to be in a good place physically and emotionally to deal with it all.

My aim is the get to 11 stone so that I am in the healthy BMI range for my height.

mama2005 · 05/03/2018 10:34

So, 1st weigh in this morning - now 14 st 13 lbs, so a loss of 4 lbs. Very happy with that. Well done everyone - onwards and upwards!

Peach1886 · 05/03/2018 10:38

Hello everyone, can I join too please? 17st 4lb this morning, I have lost nearly a stone since Christmas (low carbing) but could do with some company to keep going!

Here's to a good week with less of us at the end of it - I have promised myself a bottle of perfume when I get down to 17 stone, so maybe next week 😊

calzone · 05/03/2018 10:41

My tips for losing weight are:

Be realistic.
Avoid trigger foods.....if one biscuit leads to the packet, completely avoid.
Drink water.
When serving food, fill plate with vegetables as these will fill you up, then protein, then carbs.

I started at 14 stone 3 and I’m now 12 stone 5.
I want to be 10 stone 7 but struggling again.

I had eggs, beans, plum tomatoes and 5 chipolatas for breakfast.
Chickpea soup for lunch.
Turkey mince cottage pie for dinner.

PassTheCherryBrandy · 05/03/2018 10:52

Morning all. Right weighed self at last: 16st 10. FFS that's 19lbs heavier than my previous heaviest. Anyway, being cross at myself isn't going to help and my inner voice is a total cow so am gonna try block her out! Will try not to do snacking and up my activity levels this week. Will
Start using a food tracker too. Am very unfit so even getting my shoes on walking is tough at mo, will try and stick to a morning stretching routine for a week and see if I feel less ancient. Then I might feel slightly more like I could do some real exercise. Have got some yellow patches appeared around my eyes called xanthelasmas or something - Dr Google says they are a sign of high cholesterol. Gulp! Trying to find where does cholesterol tests now. Sad

TheImprobableGirl · 05/03/2018 11:04

Did my weigh in today... and I am now 14st 11lbs - that is 3lb HEAVIER than my last week weigh in! I'm hoping it has something to do with the chinese and wine I consumed last night - going to sign up to the actual slimming world group tonight to get a kick up the arse

Murinae · 05/03/2018 11:09

I was good after joining here this morning and made/ brought in to work for lunch 2 boiled eggs, some salad, carrot sticks and some hummus. So that’s my lunch. According to mfp it means after adding milk for my tea and coffee I only have 563 calories left for the rest of the day!! No idea what I’m having for dinner tonight yet!

JanesTeddy · 05/03/2018 11:19

Hello,

May I join in too please?

Start Weight 15/1/18 21stone 2 1/2 lb - I cried.
Today Week 8 5/3/18 19stone 4lb

I have such a long journey ahead of me but would like to be just inside healthy range of 11st 6lb.

I don't have children but do have a puppy who is 6 months and a horse. I would love to lose a proper amount of weight to ride the horse, and keep active for the dog.

I joined slimming world in January but i didn't really like it basically I'm probably the most fussy eater there is.

So I've been using WW app and that seems to keep me focused. I'm doing it a stone at a time and rewarding myself as I go hope to ride my horse at 18 stone. Thankfully they are big girls and drive as well.

Dear @Pob13 I hope this little tale gives you some encouragement i know what 21st feels like. Sad

cheesemumma · 05/03/2018 11:35

waves hi guys. So nice to see that I'm not in this alone. It's a major struggle. I keep telling myself small steps. Next target to see 14 stones on the scale. That would be AMAZING.

Pob13 · 05/03/2018 11:48

@JanesTeddy i had a slight tear seeing there was someone closer to my size! I too am a fussy eater.
I have a wedding at the end of March and have a dress but am terrified to try it on incase it doesnt fit. Hopefully it will fit but be a bit tight to spur me on.

sar302 · 05/03/2018 12:03

Have been for a short 25min walk this morning and my 8hr eating window is just about to kick in - probably some sort of protein and salad sandwich, finished off with fruit / yogurt for lunch. When my mayo runs out, I'm replacing it with low fat!

Bowednotbroken · 05/03/2018 12:14

Hi can I join too? Nearly 60, around 5'10", and somewhere between 16.5 and 17 stone. Can't manage the scales as on crutches just now - unsurprisingly my joints are struggling carrying this weight around. I'd dearly love to lose at least a couple of stones before the big birthday! It's tricky as DH cooks much of the time (and shops too) and he doesn't do portion control at all! He probably needs to lose as much as I do but refuses to face up to it. And I comfort eat too..... Sigh. Hopefully some encouragement and a bit of having to be open around it might help?

Bowednotbroken · 05/03/2018 12:18

Although I did eat prunes instead of biscuits this morning- so that's a start!! (Trying to ward off the effects of strong painkillers!)

NotASingleFuckToGive · 05/03/2018 12:41

Hello everyone, may I join too? Smile
I have 3st to lose before I get married late this year, so think this may be the kick up the backside inspiration I need.
I'm nearly 40 and weigh 13st4, it's no good for my health and I feel red in the face trying to do things that really shouldn't be an effort!
I'd like to be 10st again, which would make me a very happy size 12.
Good luck to everyone, I hope our weekly losses reflect our efforts Grin

Peach1886 · 05/03/2018 13:07

sar Sainsbury's Lighter French Style is lovely 😊

Hidingtonothing · 05/03/2018 13:13

Ok moment of truth, today I weigh.....(drumroll)......12 stone 7lbs so that's 3lb off Smile Happy with that (considering I had a blip or two), mostly because I can see my habits beginning to change and know that's what will make the difference long term, I'm actually doing it this time instead of just thinking about doing it if that makes sense?

Well done to everyone who's lost some at today's weigh in (gold stars for cheesemumma and glitter) and solidarity and positive vibes to everyone else for the coming week, we can do this!

Tea tonight is jacket spud and veg chilli, got a half hour walk scheduled (DD has a dentists check up, we would normally take car but will walk instead) and no naughty snacks in the house because Tuesday is shopping day and there's nothing left so confident I won't slip up today Grin Hope everyone has a good day Flowers

Hidingtonothing · 05/03/2018 13:28

Bowed, just read your post properly, I have the same issue with DH and portion control so totally sympathise. I've started 'supervising' dishing up and physically removing the excess from my plate, harder when you're on crutches I realise but maybe something you could do? I also had a proper talk with him about health concerns, was really honest with him (for the first time really) and he does seem to be starting to take it on board. He has those yellow spots above his eyes a PP mentioned (high cholesterol) so really want him to make changes too and he is beginning to get it. I hope the support here will be helpful for you, really hard when you're not as mobile as you'd like and the people around you aren't on board Flowers

glitterbiscuits · 05/03/2018 13:41

Hello to anyone new!

Lots of people commenting at the start of the thread have disappeared. This could so easily have been me. Full of good intentions but no a lot of action.
I wonder if they will come back?

A good half way point in the campaign will be roughly will be when UK schools break up for the summer. About 16 weeks time. So I think a 2 and a half stone weight loss could be possible by then.

Meanwhile I’ve just spent a billion pounds on Facecream. I’m determined to feel better soon.

OP posts:
DonaldTrumpsTrump · 05/03/2018 15:08

Well done to everyone at weigh in today! What face cream have you gone for glitterbiscuits? I found the best one for me and my spots is la roche posay, not cheap but not so bad when it's on offer in boots.

I've just had breakfast of an omelette wrap, not sure what to have for dinner but tea will be a wholemeal roll with some salad. I'm nights for the next three nights and we tend to have a lot of treats on the unit where I work so will do my best to avoid!

Karmin · 05/03/2018 15:28

Weigh in Number 1 - 17.8 Stones Minimum 5 stones to lose I want to be half way at least by christmas.

My issue is that I eat emotionally and I suffer from chronic pain which happens a lot, just got a fitbit though and I'm trying to start walking

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 05/03/2018 17:27

Hi, can I join please?

41, and 15.11 Shock Sad Shock

Need to get down to 11.7 to be in the healthy weight range for my height. But anything would be a start!

I wrote the book on self-sabotage. I have a real problem with following rules or being told what to do, even by myself Grin I am also faaaaaar too fond of a) snacking b) carbs c) snacking on carbs. I'm also a big binger (this may not be unrelated to a, b and c above).

I do like exercise, but I've been too lazy the past few months weeks.

Downtheroadfirstonleft · 05/03/2018 17:59

May I join too? I started January 1st, but I've a long way to go and would love some company! [tea]
