Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

BigFatBloomers You could definitely do that but then or be pretty close!

I was 14.8 on Saturday and aiming for the 14st mark too in about the same time.

BigFatBloomers · 12/07/2018 11:56

fezzesarecool I’ve just read the exercise thread. (It got pretty intense for a bit!)
You sound as if you’ve done brilliantly. Any tips gratefully received!
I do have a couple of dvds. I will get them out.
Off for a dog walk now. I will able for getting breathless rather than my usual amble.

fezzesarecool · 12/07/2018 12:12

BigFatBloomers this is my ‘hardcore’ exercise plan It’s just low impact DVDs with hand weights. I done this up until a couple of months ago.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=KCe3ZS7pAC4 1 mile 15 minutes walk

putlockers.tf/watch/7vNLQ2GR-rapid-results-with-beverley-callard.html
Rapid results 30 to 40 minutes

m.youtube.com/watch?v=dU9kzmfKaWs Y plan 15 minutes toner

m.youtube.com/watch?v=ujGr3nrZfvQ Belly Blaster walk 5 minutes

Work day (weekends)
I do 2 or 3 miles of the 1 mile 15 minutes walk In the morning, after work, before dinner I’ve added in weights

Free day (3 times a week)
1 mile walk with weights before school run

Rapid results section 1 warm up, section 2with weights
Belly Blaster 5 min walk
Rapid results section 3
Then repeat rapid results section 2, belly blaster, rapid results section 3
Finish with The Y Plan

After school run, 1 mile walk

While Dinner’s cooking 1 mile walk

Busy day with clubs/feeling lazy
1 mile walk with weights before school run

Rapid results section 1 warm up, section 2 with weights and section 3
Belly Blaster 5 min walk
Finish with The Y Plan

After school run/ while dinner’s cooking
1 mile walk with weights

Some stuff I make up as I go along but every week I’m pushing myself to do a new move.

But now with the heat and change to summer holidays I’m trying to get around a 500cal burn in 5 day’s and on 1380 cals. HTH

RubySlippers77 · 12/07/2018 13:11

Blimey fezzes, that is pretty hardcore! I do lots of walking but struggle to fit any 'structured' exercise in. When the DC were younger I could pop them in the jumperoos for a bit, now they want CONSTANT attention Confused

Bloomers it's taken me this far into the year to lose 9lb, if that makes you feel better Grin

1.5lb off on my scales but only 0.5 at WW. Pah! I was pleased with my 1.5lb till then. However I'm still fat, so no let up in the weight loss attempts for me...

fezzesarecool · 12/07/2018 13:31

RubySlippers77 At the time I had a aim of really giving this my all and see what I could do in 10 weeks. It really helped to get me going.

I would probably achieve more with HILT just 30 minutes a day but I’m nowhere near fit enough.

Now I’m doing less, so today I did a 1 mile walk, 1 hour of the DVDs and maybe a 1 mile walk later on. Should take me to around 500cals. I’ve started putting it on the iPad, while my son naps and catch up on Eastenders! Lol

My 18 month old loves watching me run up and down and the y plan! So on a busy day/got a do just 30minutes of that to make him laugh, my Mr Moivator!

When my 4 year old is a t home I try and bribe her with a dvd for a bit.

I think exercise wise, it’s finding what works for you and what you can fit in your day/week.

The summer holidays are going to be interesting! So I’m pushing through while I can. I feel like you, I’m actually still in the obese category and around 30/40 pounds off being ‘just’ overweight.

fezzesarecool · 12/07/2018 13:42

Sorry, should have said, starting weight was 19st 9lbs, so it was time to get serious!

mama2005 · 12/07/2018 14:15

Hello! Catching up after a couple of days - wow, a lot of impressive exercise going on!

BigFatBloomers · 12/07/2018 16:17

Thanks for that fezzes. You’ve done brilliantly. I’ll have a look at it all a bit later. I have Davina’s 7 minutes which I was doing (a long time ago). My favourite one, which I found great for toning, was by Anthea Turner(!!) but it was on video. I recorded it on my phone at one point but haven’t got it any more.
Must find out more about HIIT.

fezzesarecool · 12/07/2018 21:36

BigFatBloomers I wanted to do the Davina one but she’s seems to chat rubbing sh theoughout it! But heard such good things about it

Just wanted to say I don’t normally go on about exercise this much!

RubySlippers77 · 13/07/2018 00:02

I liked the Davina 15 minute workout dvd Bloomers. Bought 5 week fit on the strength of that and didn't like it at all Confused

Moms into Fitness on YouTube I find really good - I used to do the 10 minute HIIT in the morning but the DC will only tolerate about 3 minutes before they start to squabble 🤦‍♀️

Off to have a look for cheapo exercise equipment on Ebay!

RubySlippers77 · 14/07/2018 23:40

How is everyone doing? I have been SO HUNGRY today Shock don't know what's wrong with me! I did treat myself to some pancakes yesterday and I think it's sent me off on a crazed carb search.....

DP was drinking till 2.30am last night and hence today has had his mardy hangover face on all day Angry then he gets fed up when the DC want attention..... I pointed out that they are toddlers, no, you cannot just leave them to fend for themselves whilst you snooze. Really annoys me that he's so lazy, not just today but in general - he's drinking far too much for someone who's pre-diabetic and yet expects me to make all the effort planning his meals.

I'm thinking of investing in a cross trainer (via ebay!) - did you come to any decisions about your fitness quest glitter?

glitterbiscuits · 15/07/2018 06:36

I've had a miserable week. I've got cystitis (again) and so I'm comfort eating. I'm on antibiotics and now I have thrush! Yay!
I'm not even going to weigh myself!

OP posts:
RubySlippers77 · 15/07/2018 15:15

Ouch! Sorry to hear that glitter. DP's hangover is now on to day 2 and he's still moaning and groaning. Aaarrrggghh! If I had any chocolate in the house but I can't because I'd just eat it I would comfort eat too!!

mama2005 · 15/07/2018 15:39

Oh no glitter! Poor you - hope you feel better soon. Ruby, that sounds tough, although am wondering if 2 day hangover is punishment enough...nope, he definitely owes you!

mama2005 · 16/07/2018 08:21

0.5 lbs off this week for me - am pleased to have a loss, but am feeling stuck in a bit of a plateau. Need to focus and be a bit less slap dash with my portions. Hoping everyone has a good week!

CaitSith · 16/07/2018 09:02

Only 1.3 pounds off for me this week, but still down is better than up or the same! It’s been my pre TOTM week and the same week last month I gained 6 pounds of water then lost it all again in a big woosh the following week, so I’m hoping that I’ve been losing fat but gaining water behind the scenes and the same will happen this week for a nice big loss next Monday. I shall be having a major sulk if it doesn’t Grin

RubySlippers77 · 16/07/2018 10:59

Well done mama and Cait!

Scales this morning showed a 2lb loss since Thursday, which I'd be very pleased with. Hopped off quickly before they could change their mind Grin now just need to maintain that for WW on Thursday. Still feel like an egg on legs though, my tummy muscles have vanished since the DC!

Making the most of one of our last preschool sessions and doing lots of cleaning this morning. Arrrggghhhh. No idea how to keep the house reasonably clean with two small terrors running around on-stop, especially when DP seems to have welded his arse to the sofa.....

mama2005 · 16/07/2018 11:40

V good Cait and Ruby. Am cackling at "egg on legs"...working on looking a bit less egg-like myself!

RubySlippers77 · 16/07/2018 12:02

It's terrible mama - sure my 'mum tum' should have gone a bit more by now!! Although to be fair I am now at the weight I was when I first got on the scales 4 months after giving birth. Yes, I lost all the baby weight then regained it plus a bit more for good measure..... still, if I lose 1lb per week I should be thin(ner) by my birthday in April. Determined not to start yet another year as a podgy mum!

glitter you have my sympathy :(

I’m hanging in there this week too. I’m also on antibiotics after an insect bite got infected. I’ve never seen anything so gross and the urge to eat toast is strong to make me feel better. Am going to rely on the antibiotics for now though rather than the healing power of bread ;)

RubySlippers77 · 16/07/2018 14:24

Ah Mind, you're doing better than me, I'm sure I'd be putting my faith in the toast & marmalade cure!!

Insect bites are v painful though even without being infected - is there anything else you can do? Cool water spray/ poultice or not recommended? Think I was told to put cooling gel on mine but it's a few years ago now.

Off to a party next week and still can't quite fit in my summery frock. How annoying! There'll have to be an outfit rethink. I did buy a couple of 'posh' dresses in a larger size, however although they fit, they make me look like Hyacinth Bucket on her way to a dinner dance Sad

MindBodyChocolate · 16/07/2018 18:41

It's ok, the antibiotics are making me so sleepy I'm not going to stay awake long enough for dinner tonight - silver linings, and all that ;)

RubySlippers77 · 17/07/2018 08:29

Are you feeling better this morning glitter and Mind?

MindBodyChocolate · 17/07/2018 12:52

Thanks Ruby - yes, the antibiotics are kicking in and my bites are getting better. Antibiotics always knock me out for the first day so hopefully am over the worst.

Thankfully I didn’t turn to food to make me feel better so I’m counting that as a success.
