Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Thats crap hairspray :( lucky your old boss is a good guy/women though, not having the stress of being out of work is at least one fewer thing to worry about

I didn't weigh this morning, so no update there. Good day yesterday - stayed in my cal allowance and got 300 exercise calories too (which I didn't eat) - just from cooking, bonus of my high heart rate there Grin

I watched secrets of getting fit while getting my last steps. Unfortunately buggered knees (and complaining rest of body) means I can't even attempt the fitness tests though - both stepping up and sitting down require assistance anyway.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/02/2018 10:31

I'm a huge gin and slim fan... or just gin tbf.
Hope you have a good evening hairspray

splatattack · 02/02/2018 10:31

Hairspray, that doesn't sound fair..thank goodness for your old employer..fingers crossed it all gets sorted ASAP!

Good day yesterday until I went out for dinner. It was tapas so sharing but impossible to really know how many calories but I really enjoyed myself as hadn't seen these girls for a good few months, last May I think!

Hairspray - you sound like I used to be, a total social butterfly. Enjoy it! As when you're married with a toddler the nights out are very rare!

Today's menu

Half a bowl of oat so simple (toddler ate the other half!). Blueberries.
Salad for lunch.
Something with salad/veg for dinner.

Early night!

Am on my period and it's really painful so haven't done any exercise since Monday. I'll see how I feel tonight and may jump on the exercise bike for half an hour.

TVHubbyClaire · 02/02/2018 14:17

12 st 6 to start the month.....I think I will do well to stay the same by end of month Hmm

NewYearNiki · 02/02/2018 14:55

That is awful Hairspray Sad I hope it gets sorted soon.

I think my body may be trying to tell me something. I couldnt sleep for most of last night. I was very alert and wired and i ached all over. I did 2 gym classes an 8km cycle and lots of walking

poorpaws · 02/02/2018 22:23

KOKO I neeeed you. Had another chocolate feast tonight, will I ever stop eating the bloody stuff. I’d be a size 6 if chocolate didn't exist. I’ve got no willpower and it’s always the evenings! Hope you aren’t failing like me. .

PipGirl404 · 03/02/2018 07:21

Morning all!

Half a pound down from yest. Sitting at 164.8lbs, OH is buying me some curling irons as a treat 🤗

poor I'm the same, reckon I'd be so skinny if it wasn't for chocolate and cheese!! Do you like chocolate cake? Have you tried the chocolate brownie fiber one bars? Might help when you're craving it!

lastqueenofscotland · 03/02/2018 07:28

Poor I've found allowing myself it once a week stops me craving it all the time, as I'm just there thinking "I can have a galaxy on Wednesday" rather than arggg I can't eat chocolate and I want to eat all of the chocolate that ever existed right now.

Managed a golden Friday which is unheard of!

Hoolahoophop · 03/02/2018 07:44

I'll sometimes have a low cal hot chocolate and try to pretend it's like eating the real thing. Poorpaws. Enjoy your curls pipgirl.

Can I ask what a golden day is? Is it just sticking to target?

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 03/02/2018 07:49

If you need a chocolate fix here are the lowest cal ones around (yes, I know this information by heart Blush)

2 finger kit Kat - 107cals
Single finger twirl - 114cals
Snack size twix - 113cals
Fudge - 114cals
Curlywurly - 118cals
Chomp - 110cals
Freddo - 95cals
Freddo caramel - 94cals (although i haven't seen these for ages!)

Curlywurlys are the best because they feel like a bigger bar and take longer to eat!

For a full-sized big bar the only two I can think of off the tip of my head that are under 200cals are

Flakes - 167cals (I think - I've realised I'm happier with a single finger twirl than a full sized flake so never eat them)

Crunchies - 187cals

I also really like the Cadbury snack biscuits - the wee ones in the yellow packets. If you buy the multi-packs of small packets then each individual one has 3 biscuits in it and the whole pack is 102cals

twinkledag · 03/02/2018 07:50

I did ok yesterday. Not 100% on target but not stupidly over too. I did ok for a Friday.

Today MIL's bday lunch so off to Nando's. Prob have eggs for breakfast. Need to do a food shop but dinner will be something like chicken/turkey and veg.

twinkledag · 03/02/2018 07:51

Good list @Rylanmakesmyheartsmile
!

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 03/02/2018 07:54

I'm probably preaching to the choir, but thought it might be helpful. I only buy these bars now and keep them in my chocolate box in the fridge so they are the only ones I can choose from. (CurlyWurlys from the fridge take so long to eat you are definitely satisfied once you're finished!)

Not2bObvious · 03/02/2018 08:20

A golden day is one where you do everything spot on to lose weight (afaik anyway!) Basically the complete opposite of what I did yesterday, I’m trying to think what worthless metal could be aligned to a muck up all your hard work...nickel? I was going great until I sat down to watch TV, started on the crisps. Ate all the crisps. Started on the chocolates. Ate all the chocolates. At least I fell asleep before I could drink all the gin! Came in at 2500 calories which is about what I burned yesterday and the scales is showing a pound bloat. I’ll have my weekly average tomorrow which is my new measure, coming in around 11.7 - I’m really just maintaining the last 2 weeks. I guess that’s not the worst. I’m clearly not putting my all into it, unless you could my “eat it all” weekend habit. Today will be better. Off to the gym at 9.
Hoping the good behaviour of last and pip will rub off on me, I want a golden day AND half a pound off (and a curling iron😉)
Anyone doing anything nice today?

TheDonald · 03/02/2018 08:30

Morning all. Saturday weigh in has me at 10 10.6 AGAIN!!

That's 3 weeks in a row. Starting to wonder if my scales are stuck!

The positive is that I haven't gained despite being less than golden. I haven't been running due to sore Achilles and I've been having the occasional dip into the work cupboard of shame!

I'm off out for a meal tonight but otherwise should be on for a good weekend.

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 03/02/2018 08:33

Weighed in at 131.8lb this morning, so 1.2lb down on last week, which after a horrendous day on Wed when I basically ate all day long and then ordered a totally disappointing dominos in the evening is making me ridiculously happy. I've had two low cal days to make up for it but Thur was also an almost sedentary day due to weather so not really that much to boast about!

5.8lb to go and 7 weeks til we go on holiday - hoping I can get it off before we leave.

I've got a quiet Saturday and a lovely spa day tomorrow. So I'm going to the gym today while kids are doing activities and am currently planning to wake up early enough to get in a walk before the spa tomorrow as I can catch up on missed sleep while lying about in a dressing gown by a pool...

NewYearNiki · 03/02/2018 10:08

@Rylanmakesmyheartsmile

A galaxy ripple also isnt bad at 175 calories.
Less than a crunchie and you get to eat galaxy chocolate 😍

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 03/02/2018 10:16

Now you see Niki I used to love galaxy chocolate - in fact galaxy caramel was my second favourite chocolate bar (after a Fry's chocolate creme) but I tried a ripple recently and I couldn't manage more than one bite and had to drink something strong afterwards to get the taste out of my mouth. It was disgusting! I have no idea why but it's put me right off trying them again. Have they changed the recipe of galaxy now too?

NewYearNiki · 03/02/2018 10:23

No they havent. They taste the same to me.
Sorry i mentioned it.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 03/02/2018 10:25

I find weekends such a challenge particularly as I have a new man (post 17 year marriage) who I only see of a Friday and Saturday. Our nights tend to be drinking vodka (I have around 3) and eating lovely food. I can be angelic all week but it goes to mush on these days!
