Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Link to the January thread here

Everyone welcome, new and old

Oh that's a great idea Quimmy. Have you seen any discernable difference yet? Gotta be great for the waist

Swap places hairspray?!

I have nowhere to go most weekends.

Scales couldnt decide between 9.9 and 9.10.

I still havent picked a holiday.

SchrodingersFrilledLizard · 01/02/2018 13:23

Hello all

Sign me up! I'm doing LCHF and am not weighing myself but prefer to go by how my clothes fit, so my goal for February is to have my clothes a little bit looser than they are now.

QuimReaper · 01/02/2018 13:24

None yet BOOP - I can't really "feel" it in my abs so I'm really not sure how much toning impact it can possibly be having, but perhaps it's a question of technique?

PipGirl404 · 01/02/2018 13:27

Oooh Canaries will be lovely. I am heading away to Turkey with OH in May and this has kick started the need to GET ON IT and stop being a bloater.

I've always wanted to try that weighted hula hooping but it leaves me bruised and I'm a bit of a wimp hahaha. Have you noticed a difference in your wait/tummy Quim? Also ta for the welcome Grin

NewYearNiki · 01/02/2018 13:27

So far I have done

Yoga
Body conditioning
Cycling to the gym.

Wonder should i do body pump later

PipGirl404 · 01/02/2018 13:33

I've just booked myself onto a Pump class at Puregym Niki Grin

Don't know why I'm grinning... I'm always sore after it!

NewYearNiki · 01/02/2018 13:39

I will so pay for it tomorrow with soreness.

Maybe the grin is through gritted teeth at the pain Grin

HairsprayBabe · 01/02/2018 13:39

Do it Niki I am 100% joing the gym in Notts, my life is too hectic, you wouldn't want it plus while DH is lovely he is some what of a man child and needs chivving along to clean etc. I don't mind because I am bossy assertive but I can't help feeling i am making a rod for my own back!

Just had a muffin that a girl from work brought in. Was super yummy, made her give me the recipe so I could "make them myself" to work the calories out... how sad am I!

Anyway, was supposed to be having yogurt and berries for lunch (150cals) and a mug of miso broth, but I have ditched the yogurt for the muffin, and am keeping the broth so am now on 182 calories,

Tofu lemongrass stir fry for tea - Vietnamese style.

NewYearNiki · 01/02/2018 13:47

Nah its better than being lonely Hairspray.

I feel like it has to be a fitness or cycling holiday but they might be too tough.

Dunno.

NewYearNiki · 01/02/2018 13:47

I would totally do that with homemade cake

HairsprayBabe · 01/02/2018 14:01

www.inspa-retreats.com/latest-news/singles/spa-holidays-for-singles/ dont know what your budget is like Niki but these might appeal?

HappyGowerGirl · 01/02/2018 14:37

Go on a cycling holiday Niki!! There are ones aimed at different levels of fitness I'm sure! My brother does them and loves them.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/02/2018 14:54

Niki I have my eye on one of these cycling holidays in Holland

Sounds like all the fun, none of the hassle

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 01/02/2018 14:56

Tofu lemongrass stir fry sounds lovely, hairspray

I've been having a cook here. Carrot and coriander soup is bubbling away, bread in the bread maker and I've started on my potatoless easy mousakka equivalent thingy (easy coz I'm mixing the aubergine in with the lamb then plonking cream and cheese on top) should come out quite low carb I think...?

BitOutOfPractice · 01/02/2018 14:56

The boat and bike ones look really great!

40aprons.com/lemongrass-tofu/ Beyond

But I am having it on a bed of steamed green veg not rice, not using the agave and will probably use about 1/4 of the oil!

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 01/02/2018 15:07

Thanks, I'll save that to have a go at!

BitOutOfPractice · 01/02/2018 15:20

@Kikisdeliveries I've just done those tests from Secrets of Getting Fit. Yes, I think I'm OK - my heart rate in particular after the step test was much lower than they said for my age

ponygirlcurtis · 01/02/2018 15:38

Thanks for the new thread BOOP, and bon voyage!

Hello to all the new people. 😊 I am a low-carber although my focus needs a little a lot of work right now.

I missed The Truth About... last night but will be watching it on catch up. Suspect I won't be quite as fit as you lot!

Kikisdeliveries · 01/02/2018 15:40

Boop I thought my HR was a bit high then I realised they'd all been doing it at walking pace while I had sprinted for 3 minutes! I did it again and it was more like 95 at peak, so felt better.

Got my hiit fix in by cycling 10 minutes against a very brisk wind on an upward incline, punishing!

On a different note, I'm so pleased January is out the way. It's a tough miserable month. I started taking a supplement called "Ultra Woman", which appeals to me just by the name, (from Holland and Barrett) so between that and more daylight hours I'm feeling much more upbeat this week Smile

singme · 01/02/2018 15:50

Can I join please?

Current weight: 9st12
Height 5ft 4

Started with a personal trainer back in November and really pleased with the fitness side of things- managing one session with trainer and two on my own each week
However weight not shifting!
Just started MFP and have 1300 cals a day to play with

Knee has been sore this week so skipped gym session and did a yoga class last nights
Making a bean salad with quorn sausages for tea
Jacket potato with a little bit of cheese for night shift “lunch” later
Also picked up a vegan clean eating brownie for the night shift
Will probably have fruit and yoghurt in the morning

Maybe cheese AND a brownie is too much of a treat...

Hoolahoophop · 01/02/2018 17:45

Anyone not managing any exercise and replying on diet?

I was in the pool for an hour today, but carrying kids for lessons not swimming.

And we have fish and chips for tea. Not a good start.

leesmum · 01/02/2018 17:59

Hiya ladies Smile I'll weigh in tomorrow and check back in properly, hope you're all well and geared up for a Fannybloodytastic February Grin

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 01/02/2018 18:06

My moussaka turned out faffier than planned as it wouldn't fit in the bloody pot. Had to swap with the one my soup was in Grin

Both are tasty though (just had moussaka for my dinner), and now served up in individual portions and put in the freezer. Bread was a success too :) and I got some uni work done and went down the school and listened to the kids read!! Now tomorrow I'm gonna be dead...
