Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Link to the January thread here

Everyone welcome, new and old

Thank god you weren't engaged that would have been so much more complicated!

Dating I'm starting to find is actually really fun.

Not2bObvious · 27/02/2018 15:14

That’s shocking hair, isn’t it astounding what these fxxckers can get away with. Honestly, I know it must hurt like hell but you got a lucky escape. You’re so young and gorgeous, seriously you’ve got so much going for you. Wanker

FreeNiki · 27/02/2018 15:26

Hairspray Im so sorry! Flowers

I've been there, it is shocking to deal with. Be good to yourself. ❤☕

Hoolahoophop · 27/02/2018 20:47

So sorry to hear that Hairspray. You really do sound incredibly strong. So sorry you have been let down so badly. Glad you have support around you even if your Mum is in a bit if a flap.

Here's a 🍷to your fresh start. Flowers

lastqueenofscotland · 28/02/2018 05:14

Up 2 this week always knew it would be a bit of a shitshow! Head is back in the game now, annoyed as it means I've only lost 6lbs this month. Going to have an extra virtuous march

Not2bObvious · 28/02/2018 06:39

I wouldn’t call 6lb only last, but I guess when it has been looking like 8lb it might feel a bit disappointing. The fact you broke out and had a subsequent flux of 2lb would infer your deficit before had been a bit harsh and/or activity levels were punishing. You did do some crazy active days didn’t you?
My average this week so far is 11.3 which I’m so pleased by. According to Mfp I’m down 6.8lb in the last month😬 I now have to keep up with this behaviour, might be tougher as have a night out and visitors planned. No school here today due to snow, going to be a lot of marching on the spot to get my steps. Will have to avoid the fridge! Might put myself on rations😉

lastqueenofscotland · 28/02/2018 07:08

Yes I wouldn't usually moan about 6lbs!!
It is also my TOTM which won't be helping

Not2bObvious · 28/02/2018 07:15

AHHH well then, totm might completely explains the 2lb! I know you said you went off the rails a bit but do you think you went 7000 over plus your tdee for that time? Pretty unlikely I’d say

lastqueenofscotland · 28/02/2018 07:27

Not2 I hope you're right! It wasn't like mad binging just making not so great choices at times

HairsprayBabe · 28/02/2018 08:06

Last day of Feb 9st6, what with my grandfather's mortal peril and having my heart ran over by a steam roller I have done very well this month and I am thrilled with a 10lb loss! Have reached one of my "mini" targets (9.7 - bmi middle of healthy range) and I have 2lbs to go to "ultimate target" of 9st4 on a Monday morning.... so it isn't all bad....

Total loss so far 5st11lbs - so I am tempted to push on to 9.2 so I have a nice round 6st loss!

Feeling ok today, ate a bit more yesterday I have badminton later and my mother is slowly returning to earth!

My "baby" brother is being a total legend, offering to help me move all my stuff and unscrew all my flat pack and pound my ex into a slithery pulp.

Word has spread round my office and to my old school pals as I got asked out three times last night Hmm I politely declined!

HairsprayBabe · 28/02/2018 08:13

Also TOTM for me too... Yay...

Not2bObvious · 28/02/2018 08:16

10lb! If that was a baby we’d all be winching and shuddering, that’s flipping incredible! Although it’s not a good thing some of it was through upset & turmoil - it’s a silver lining of sorts? (Not being flippant, aiming for minor upbeat)
Look at you barely back on the scene and beating them off, a little lift to the soul?

HairsprayBabe · 28/02/2018 08:25

Well they are all known scoundrels so I shan't read too much into it!

But if I need to get under someone to get over it then it might be something I explore, probably in a few weeks when I am feeling starved of attention!

I was happy to give the milk away for free before I met ExP, I like to flirt and I love men, so why not? Sex doesn't have to mean you want to marry someone, sometimes it is just for fun!

Feezles · 28/02/2018 08:31

0.5lb down here. I'm working from home due to rail chaos, so should get lots of steps in taking DD to nursery and back.

Feezles · 28/02/2018 08:39

And Hair - you do what you need to do with your head held high.

I used to watch Greys Anatomy, years ago before I lost track, and one of my favourite quotes is:

"I will not apologise for what I had to do to fix what you broke!"

So hunt out those silver linings - a 10lb loss and 3 scoundrels on the prowl will do nicely for nowSmile - and do whatever feels right xx

Not2bObvious · 28/02/2018 08:59

I’ve only started watching Greys feezles so only heard that line in the last couple of weeks - absolutely class & so true. Well done on the .5 off!
You’re dead right hair, when you feel ready go out and enjoy the attention, nothing stopping you.
I’m such a slob, I need to drag myself up, log on and do a few bits but I’m warm & im safe here in bed away from the fridge. I could eat & eat today, I’m getting that feeling!

lastqueenofscotland · 28/02/2018 09:49

Hair we can compare dating notes! I'm learning to really enjoy it

QuimReaper · 28/02/2018 10:43

You sound like you're doing admirably Hairspray Flowers

We've got a proper couple of cm of snow here in London, and it's still coming. In my garden that is - it'll probably get slushier out on the pavements, but it's sort of nice to have a proper covering. Thrilled to see the temperatures are set to hike over the weekend, meaning we should avoid the dreaded Endless Ice we had in 2010.

Problem is, being cold makes me want to eat!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 28/02/2018 11:33

I'm so sorry to hear that Hairspray, what an absolute bastard he is Flowers

If that was a baby we’d all be wincing and shuddering Grin love it! 10lbs is definitely an impressive loss.

I'm up another lb after the weekend so for now I'm down 4lbs since January. I'm pretty pleased, and if I can lose that much again in March I'll be delighted!

HairsprayBabe · 28/02/2018 11:47

I am an immensely practical sort, there is no point in crying about it, I don't want to waste any more energy on him it will just annoy me more! So I am focusing on getting on with things.

I cried a bit on Monday when his mum came over but not really much else. Is it possible to keep ones MIL after a breakup?

Have we been thinking about March thread titles? Something about Spring or Easter?

BitOutOfPractice · 28/02/2018 12:07

I was toying with something like "Beware the Lindas of March" but it's a work in progress so all suggestions welcome. Our March one last year was awesome.

Hairspray hats off to you my dear. You have an admirable attitude. Of course you will still have bad days but you know you can face the future with your head held high. As for the getting back on the ahem horse, I'll just say that once I got over the initial shock of it, I had a high old time getting back out there. And with your new found confidence and hot-to-trot looks you'll be whooping it up in no time I'm sure! Thanks

Im still in the dating pool too!

Id advise taking time to yourself first though. It's nice to be selfish aftet a relationship breaks down.

Not2bObvious · 28/02/2018 12:21

No suggestions for a thread title, but I have to say I’m really excited about March. I feel v positive right now as I’m seeing losses, long that it last! I have 4 weeks to my break and I cannot wait.
quim I’m with you on the munchies with the cold. I’m just about still on attack’s for the day but it could derail any momentConfused I’m distracting myself with tea and keeping as busy as I can. I reckon I’ll hide in the bath for an hour later too! Anything to take me mind off it

Not2bObvious · 28/02/2018 12:22

On attacks? On track! Stoopid fat fingers
