Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Happy birthday for yesterday hair and serious congrats on your phenomenal losses Thanks

Thank you for the well wishing folks, I suspect it will take a while to get to the bottom of things but In the meantime I seem to have lost a bit of weight and I'm determined not to let the endless fatigue and aches and pains get the better of me. I miss my energy and get-up-and-go but I'm going to try and fake it a bit and see what happens, I'm exhausted and sore whether I do stuff or not so I may as well motivate myself to do something low impact.

Not2 I love all your posts and helpfulness in this thread, you seem very lovely. Smile

Kikisdeliveries · 24/02/2018 08:13

Does anyone else have a coat refusing early teen? I've just looked at temperatures for next week and my mission today is going to be to get a coat he's prepared to wear!

Kikisdeliveries · 24/02/2018 08:22

On the last thread I was asking about vitamin deficiency. I've been taking a huge multivit near daily ("Ultra Woman" - I couldn't resist!) and omega 3, and while it's done nowt for my energy thus far, my nails look amazing and are stronger than they've been for years!

Feezles · 24/02/2018 08:24

I'm not fussed about McD's, tbh. Except - oh! Except! - my unshakeable addiction to sausage and egg McMuffins. Which UberEats will now deliver to our door, curse them, and which are definitely partly responsible for me needing to lose weight in the first placeBlush. Needless to say, they're currently off the menuSmile - but once I've lost a good chunk, I'm sure I'll be able to accommodate the occasional one as part of a maintenance diet.

Slenderistas, today is a good day! The scales read 12st 10.6 - a new low for me since stating again! First time below 12st 11 in months so I'm beyond thrilled. 12st 10 is a real threshold for me, as there is a gorgeous dress I have that won't fit me if I'm any bigger. So yay me!

Not2bObvious · 24/02/2018 08:46

Aww thank you kiki, you’re very kind to say that. Having tried to lose weight for so many years I’ve a lot to say on the subject😉 I have a coat dodging teen, as my mother used to say pride feels no pain! I try pushing a couple of “cool” layers, wow betide I try get a proper coat on her but she’ll accept a hoodie under a light puffa. Has to look cool though, never practical!
That’s flipping brilliant feezles! The feeling of breaking through a particular weight line, oh if they could bottle it. Tangible nsv’s are incredibly important so make sure you wear that dress and enjoy the feeling. No point the scales showing a number but the clothes not fitting. I have just under 5 weeks to my break away and I’ve some lovely skinny white jeans that would look fab in the sun with a few more pounds off so they’re my goal jeans. And a strangely cute pair of check capris I bought in the US 2 years ago that need considerably less ass than I have to look good - something to work towards😬

Hoolahoophop · 24/02/2018 09:16

So close scales showing 9st 0.2 just a tiny bit more and I'll be in the 8s

twinkledag · 24/02/2018 09:55

Happy birthday Hair and well done on your fab weight loss!

2lbs off for the month for me so far - happy with that 😁

ponygirlcurtis · 24/02/2018 09:57

Kiki my 12-year-old DS frequently gets in the car without a coat. Or I tell him to put a jumper on and he puts a thin nylon hoodie on. I have given up going on at him because it was getting me worked up, if he wants to be cold and wet that's his business! I do remember my own teen coat dodging, I had a long mac but refused to do it up as I thought it looked cool and ethereal flapping behind me as I walked! It did not... 😆

Yaaaay for you, Feezles! That's a great feeling.

Kikisdeliveries · 24/02/2018 10:11

Haha at all these coat-dodging youngsters. DS2 doesn't even have a coat at the moment as DS1's coat broke recently so I gave him his unworn one. I say unworn but I wore it constantly and am gutted at the loss Grin

So as basic parenting I feel there must at least be a coat available to both children whether they refuse to wear them or not. And DS2 is briefly my height so I will benefit in the end...

Kikisdeliveries · 24/02/2018 10:13

Well done twinkle, hula and feezle! And anyone else doing well, this thread got busy and I'm missing loads of your fab victories but it's bloody marvellous!

TheDonald · 24/02/2018 13:24

Well done on some great losses folks. And glad you're feeling better Kiki. I'm not sure if it's a sign I'm getting old but recently when I've been ill I convince myself I'm never going to feel better again. I always do (so far)

I'm very happy this morning. I got 10 7 for the first time in 10 years! Only 4lb to go to goal weight. Actually my goal was 10 7 for ages and I only revised it down quite recently. I feel like I've got more to lose but I also feel like my face has aged a bit in the last few weeks so I might not go all the way to 10 3.

I am going to try to ease off on the calorie defecit rather than get there quickly and then risk regaining it. I think about 1lb a week for a couple of weeks then half a lb then none but no regain. I've been reading about reverse dieting and I do think I need a decent plan to learn how to eat at maintenance.

On that note I'm now going to eat a cake that I just bought at the local wi coffee morning! GrinCake

Not2bObvious · 24/02/2018 13:37

Wow TheDonald that’s fantastic, what a lovely start to the weekend. You most definitely deserve a slice of cake. I’m not sure how much you’ve been losing weekly, but planning on slowing your losses by increasing your calories will be a great lead into reverse diet/maintenance. Yep figure or face is a real concern as the clock ticks on, sucks! Makes me mad I didn’t shift this blubber layer properly 10 years ago. But hey better now than never😉

twinkledag · 24/02/2018 21:13

Well done @TheDonald!

Not2bObvious · 25/02/2018 06:09

Morning all. Excuse the early posting, all excited after my Sunday weigh in. Down 1.7lb over the week😬 And at my lowest in I do not know when!!! Have to admit to having wine with dinner and 1, ok 2 G&T’s last but no food once dinner was done. I’m beginning to think the only pattern to my weekend flux was the overeating of salty/sugary crap washed down by lashings & lashings of ginger beer - sorry I mean gin & beer.
Ooh I’m delighted with myself. Don’t mind me, I’m probably still a bit tipsy after low cals and high spirits😉

Kikisdeliveries · 25/02/2018 06:45

TheDonald and Not2 amazing weekend results! Well done!

TheDonald · 25/02/2018 06:53

Well done Not2be. What a great result! HaloGin

What's everyone up to today? I'm going for a run this morning then I'll have a batch cooking session this afternoon. The freezer is getting empty.

Thank you thank you, in super good form even though I reckon I’m a teeny weeny bit ropey. Oh I wish I was well enough to run TheDonald, well jealous. And I love a batch cook, we call it a cookathan in ours although I only manage to make 2-3 dinners at a time. I need to up my game, or buy more Tupperware! My plans for the day, well it’s all glamour round mine, washing/food shopping/cleaning of house and mucky children. Not sure how cold it is but I’d like to go for a walk, well I’d prefer a run but beggars & choosers.
Any luck on the coat kiki? Brought my DD13 to the shops yesterday....in a flimsy puffa!

TheDonald · 25/02/2018 09:27

Thanks Not. I'm just getting back into it after a month of niggly injuries and ailments so my fitness is rubbish. Just a short one today but I'm very lucky to live in a beautiful place so it really does lift the spirits.

I was out with dd 16 last night and feeling smug that she's outgrown the coatless years. She put on a thick hoody and coat
Then moaned she was cold all the way home because she didn't do either of them up and had a flimsy vest top between her and the elements!

twinkledag · 25/02/2018 09:29

Fab result @Not2bObvious, well done!

Kikisdeliveries · 25/02/2018 09:47

Not2 yup a flimsy, too big cheap puffa! DS1 is nearly 6' so he can have that one.

Kikisdeliveries · 25/02/2018 09:55

Oh dear thedon, that's you me and not firmly in the February illness injury club. Let's hope March improves things!

Now, inappropriate talk on here but my coat search yesterday took me to Asda, and there I discovered the joy that is hot cross bun loaf. Breakfasting on buttered toasted slices right now. Yum yum yum.

Luckily Asda is a bit of trek.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/02/2018 10:01

Hello all. Sorry I haven't caught up and I didn't answer the question about the pie. I have buggered off to France for the weekend and am working in eating all the cheese and drinking all the wine. Went for lunch at a place yesterday called I'Instant Fromage. Only serves cheese. Oh lord it was so good.

TheDonald · 25/02/2018 10:05

Ooh that sounds lovely Kiki. I love hot cross buns.

I was trying to stay off sugar for lent. I did really well until Thursday but I cracked on Thursday evening. I might have to go for some posh m&s hot cross buns today.

Feezles · 25/02/2018 10:26

Super well done Not and TheDonald - it's such a great feeling!

Another good day for me yesterday, during which I successfully had one, and only one, glass of wine. I was slightly up on yesterday this morning but still under 12st 11, rounding out an average loss of 1.5lb for the week.

Enjoy the cheese, Boop!
