Well done totally 10lb is huge, you must be feeling more comfortable in clothes now, I know what you mean about alcohol, I'm not a big drinker but last night had a large glass of wine and felt tempted to binge on cheese and crackers

MercuryRising · 28/01/2018 19:16

That is a great loss so far Totally. Alcohol definitely destroys my willpower as does sitting about in the evening. I need to find something to keep me busy so I am not tempted to eat. I weighed today and I am tipping 13st 4 which is the largest I have ever been not pregnant. It was not completely unexpected but prompted me to go for a walk and stay within my calories on MFP.

Ellieboolou27 · 28/01/2018 20:02

Well done mercury staying in calories in mfp is great, it seems we are all mostly evening munchers Smile

We weigh almost the same, I'm 13.8, I was only 12st when I was pregnant full term Shock
I'm looking forward to the weekend being over as I work mon-wed and always eat less Grin

WantToFeelFabulous · 28/01/2018 21:32

Well I have failed to keep within my calories today due to generally feeling utterly shattered and so hungry! I have a cardio amd weights workout planned for the morning and hope this will spur me on. I will be back to report if I have done it!

WantToFeelFabulous · 28/01/2018 21:34

How much exercise do you all do? I know food is mostly key to losing weight but have found exercise to help motivate me in the past so trying to get back into it. Also want to tone up!

AnotherRanger · 28/01/2018 21:49

Evening snacking is weird isn't it? Like tonight I probably could have managed without any but I felt lacking in fruit and veg today so just had satsuma and a few grapes and have no urge for anything else whereas last night I was constantly back and forth going to the kitchen and picking at stuff, crap mainly.
I'm intending to do 2/3 workouts a week either at the gym or at home and generally try to be more active each day eg stairs instead of the lift, kickabouts with DS, walking more.

Ellieboolou27 · 28/01/2018 22:06

I've only just started so I'm aiming to do 3-4 20 HITT workouts a week, this morning I had my 2yo hanging off my legs as I was trying to do squats and my 5yo laughing at me!

Ellieboolou27 · 28/01/2018 22:07

20 Minute HITT workouts

kaz86 · 29/01/2018 09:46

Hi ya guys. Finding it hard to keep up 🙈.
Looks like you have all had a good weight loss.
I lost 2lb this week so I think I have lost 5lb all together. Weekend was not great as had a Pizza Hut 😂. But back on it today!
I'm doing 15 mins on a excercise bike every other day and 10 mins on a epilator. I need to build it up. I shouldn't be starting excercise until April because of my lady issues 😂. But count this as light.

Thanks! I’m not sure how much is really about will power versus a passive hormonal / other impulse! All I know is when I drink I can’t resist sweets and chocolate mid afternoon. Literally can’t - the craving is overwhelming! But when I don’t drink those cravings totally go away. I also figure if I’m eating less I need to make sure my food is as nutritious as possible, with as few empty calories as possible.

Hope you all have a good week!

SoTotallyOverThis · 29/01/2018 10:28

Passive = massive

MercuryRising · 29/01/2018 12:44

I am feeling determined. I have found an absolute beginners hiit training video on youtube so I am going to give that ago once ds2 is down for his nap. I haven't exercised in years so it could be interesting.

AnotherRanger · 29/01/2018 16:05

I did it! I went to the gym on my own and it wasn't that bad Grin and I've had a kickabout with DS in the park so I'm knackered now.

Springiscoming123 · 29/01/2018 16:29

Well done you

Can I ask what activity level you've all put into MFP, I choose lightly active as although I have a desk job I only work 3 days a week, the rest of the time I'm running about with the kids and do a 20/30 minute daily walk with dog.

MercuryRising · 29/01/2018 20:09

Well done Another. I did the HIIT workout and was exhausted after but pleased I did it.

I also put lightly active on MFP as I teach 3 days a week and then chase after my 3 dc the other 4 days.

Ellieboolou27 · 29/01/2018 20:19

Thanks mercury

MissingPanda · 29/01/2018 21:22

Evening :)

My weekend was a disaster. I went to a friend's house on Saturday evening for a few drinks and ended up drinking waaaaayyyy more than I should have. Consequently any healthy eating went to pot yesterday. I also did a waking night last night so ended up eating during that although usually I wouldn't.

I've also been struggling with healthy eating in general. I have 1500 calories on MFP and have been coming in just under them by the time I've had my tea. I'd got into the habit of eating in the evenings over christmas and have found it hard to stop snacking so consequently I've been going over my calories most days...not good.

I've been thinking about it over the weekend and I've decided to reduce the pressure a bit so I'm going to stop using MFP for a while and concentrate on just eating healthy meals. I've been telling myself that I've used (most of) my 1500 calories so can't eat anymore which has been counter productive because it then makes me want to eat more (contrary I know but that's me Grin). Instead I'm just going to eat healthy meals and stop telling myself I can't have something.

It seems to be working so far. I only got up at 12.30pm due to having done a waking night so had a cup of tea then made myself an ham and mushroom omelette, a big salad and a few sweet potato fries for dinner. Around 6pm I was beginning to feel a bit peckish but couldn't decide what I wanted so I had a bowl of Oatso simple golden syrup porridge. Back to front but it seems to be working because I haven't craved anything more so far.

Another well done on the gym. I'll be doing the same thing myself soon. I haven't even decided which gym yet but I know just walking through the door for the first time will be nerve wrecking.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

Springiscoming123 · 29/01/2018 22:09

steady day not to bad, wish this weather would improve

that would improve activity levels

MercuryRising · 30/01/2018 10:15

It is definitely easier to exercise when the sun is shining.

I have planned my meals for the rest of the meal and will be shopping for the ingredients today so there are no excuses for the rest of the week.

I am really aching today, so just plan on lots of walking today.

Ellieboolou27 · 30/01/2018 11:35

panda I know exactly what you mean regarding the eaten most of my calories and so makes me feel panicked and I eat more 🙄

You started out at the very beginning with 3 healthy meals and look how far you've come, sometimes mfp can become a bit obsessive so I think your doing the right thing to give it a rest for a bit.

I'm hanging in but have an awful time with motivation the last few days, I want to stay within or just under my 1500 this week, every day I've been 200-300 over and I wonder why I've not lost 2st yet Grin

Tryingno1 · 30/01/2018 12:34

Hey guys can I join! I need some moral support!
I’ve got baby weight to shift 1 stone. My lo is 4 Months and become such a handful so I just grab biccies and chocolates to keep me going. Trying to be organised when dh is Home and plan for week ahead but cake always calms my name!

I actually want to loose 1.5-2 stone but first target a stone

Am 5 ft 6 and currently 11 st 12

Xxx

Tryingno1 · 30/01/2018 12:34

Calms my name Hmm
Calls!

MissingPanda · 30/01/2018 14:05

Hi Trying and welcome :)

Ellie thanks. I have to say I'm feeling better much better since I made the decision. The pressure is off so I feel more relaxed and hence less likely to scoff everything I shouldn't.

There's also the added bonus that I'm concentrating more on eating things that are good(ish) for me instead of worrying about how many calories are in each food. This will, hopefully, lead to long term healthy eating habits, weight loss and eventually maintenance.

Mercury totally agree with it being easier to exercise when the sun is shining. I started c25k last May and really enjoyed it until I went on holiday in week 5 after which it fell apart. The thought of starting it in all the rain we've had recently is not the slightest bit enticing.
