Panda that is an amazing amount of weight to lose - congratulations!! You know you can do it now.

Spring so my plan is cut out all the chocolate, coke and crisps. Stick to 3 meals per day with fruit in between if I need it. I’ve also bought myself a water bottle today to make sure I drink around 2 litres per day - o think that’s the recommended amount?

I’m also not eating after about 6.30pm. We eat together with my DS which is probably a good think because I think the recommended cut off is about 8pm but again I’m not 100% sure on that.

So far so good - today I had a piece of toast with butter for breakfast, and a jacket potato with beans for lunch. I think I’ll have soup and another slice of toast for dinner and keep sipping my water! I’ll have enough calories left over to have a yoghurt or something for pudding. I’m doing a food shop tomorrow so the cupboards are a bit bare!

Springiscoming123 · 25/01/2018 16:29

hi all, hannah cutting out the crisps/choc etc i would guess will make a huge differrence, empty calories and all that, you go girl Grin

*elle^ well done on the workout thats something to be pleased about

Evenings are worst for me- I ate 3 hard boiled eggs last night to curb my hunger Grin

I'm weighing in every Thursday as I officially started today, been really focused today and haven't eaten anything from 7pm, I'm about to have a bath and go to bed with my book to avoid temptation!

Springiscoming123 · 25/01/2018 21:03

well done,sounds a good idea

OP posts:
kaz86 · 25/01/2018 22:24

Well done guys!!!
I weigh my self Fridays, for the reason I like a naughty treat on the weekends, it's a weekend after all 😂, this means I can loose it over the week if you know what I mean.
I have managed no chocolate this week which is huge for me. However tomorrow I have bought a Easter egg to eat.
I'm
Eating 1500, I'm kinda eating a unhealthy 1500 but it will hopefully get Better. Today I had a belvita bar, chicken slice and a fish pie.
I'm pretty hungry today. 😩.

MissingPanda · 25/01/2018 22:28

Hannah thank you. I'm sure with each other's support we can all lose the weight.

Spring I use Boots scales to weigh myself after my own proved themselves unreliable. I weigh each Monday. Tuesday if for some reason I can't on Monday.

Ellie well done on the exercise. Wrt not eating after 7pm... see you've succeeded already, keep it up Grin

Isit evenings are the worst, totally agree.

I don't want to seem like some knowitall because I'm definitely not but something I found useful when I first started was to break the weight loss down into small chunks. When I first started I had 5 1/2 weeks to an holiday so I aimed to lost half a stone. i lost 12lbs in total which helped to spur me on to continue after I came back home. I found focussing on half a stone at a time or xlbs by a certain date was easier than looking at the 5 stone I was looking to lose overall.

kaz86 · 25/01/2018 22:37

Missing panda that's such a good idea. I'm finding it difficult as have such a chunk to loose. When you lost half a stone, what did you do to celebrate it 😂. Lol.

MissingPanda · 25/01/2018 23:01

Thinking back nothing specific other than telling the whole world Wink Well maybe not quite the whole world Grin but I've been lucky in that I've got supportive family/friends/colleagues who have all been telling me how well I've done. I think that was the biggest spur I had. Also I enjoyed watching my shape change. Most of my weight was on my stomach and seeing that get smaller made me feel good.

The one thing I did do was arrange a day out to go shopping for new, smaller clothes. Trying on size 14s, when previously I'd been wearing 18s, felt so good.

AnotherRanger · 25/01/2018 23:08

Hi guys can I join? I always join weightloss threads but never stick them out but I need to this time as I'm the heaviest I've ever been Sad
I'm 5ft3 and as of today 11stone3. I'm not massive and I carry it well but my clothes size is creeping up to a 14 and I always feel really sluggish and bloated so I really need to tackle this now.
I'm calorie counting with MFP and find this really easy for meals and snacks during the day but like everyone else the evening are the killer when I munch my way through sharing bags of chocolate and crisps. I've been cutting down on my evening snacks this week to include them in my cals so ease myself in but I want to eventually have an 8pm cut off. I find it helps to go to bed early (which is hard because I'm a night owl) and to go upstairs and watch tv in bed as the living room is too close to the kitchen Grin
First mini target is to lose 7lbs by the end of Feb and to do 2/3 workouts a week either in the gym or at home.
Weigh day for me is thursdays. I've been MFPing since monday but only got the courage to weigh myself today!

MissingPanda · 25/01/2018 23:45

Hi Ranger and welcome. Totally agree with you the living room is way too close to the kitchen Grin

One of the hardest things I found when I first started losing weight was not snacking in the evening. I did get used to it but then it went out the window over christmas and it's amazing how quickly you get used to it. I'm now finding it hard not to snack in the evenings again. It's not so bad when I'm at work, despite there being snacks readily available, but it is harder at home.

Springiscoming123 · 26/01/2018 11:17

Morning everybody, great to see some new names

the night snacking seems to be a problem with good few of us Grin

somebody made a great comment saying they weigh on a Friday then if the have some extra calories at the weekend they have the week to allow them

so my weigh day is a Friday now, next friday will be my weigh in though it will be approx 10 days Smile

there's some great idea's on here

have a great day everybody

Ellieboolou27 · 26/01/2018 12:59

Morning all, I have to confess that at 11.20pm I ate 2 digestive biscuits BUT I was still within my 1500 Smile

Usually I'd have a family sized bag of crisps and big bar of chocolate, I'll weigh in on Fridays too, as like you all I like to relax a bit over the weekend.

MissingPanda · 26/01/2018 13:55

Ellie success of a different kind but still success! Smile

I usually weigh myself Monday but couldn't resist weighing again today while I'm in town. I've had an okay week, kept within my calories except for one day when I strayed into my exercise calories, something I try to avoid, so I wanted to check how I was doing. Anyway I've lost 1lb in the last 4 days so I'm pleased with that. I think I'll stay with my usual weigh day though. For me Monday is the first day of the week so it just feels right. Everyone needs to go with what feels right for them though.

Just waiting on my turkey salad for lunch . Not sure what's for tea. I'll have to organise myself this week as I'm not back in work until a week on Sunday. If I don't I'm likely to eat all the wrong things.

Ellieboolou27 · 26/01/2018 14:15

Well done panda how do you work out exercise calories on mfp?

Gymntonic · 26/01/2018 15:30

Can I join please? Am experimenting with lchf and blood sugar diet. Also trying to up my exercise levels. Have a v sedentary job sadly.
Am 5.11 and 13 stone. Ideally would be 11 - according to charts- but anything under 12 would-be best in a decade. Am 52 so celebrating each and every pound off.

Isitwise · 26/01/2018 16:39

It’s lovely to check in with you all. My weigh day is Monday, I haven’t got the willpower to do it on a Friday cos I’d binge over the weekend.
I battled the evening pang by chatting to a friend for 2 hours on the phone last night.

Even 5 days in I have so much more energy and without sound cheesy af I’m really positive. Work has been fab this week even though it’s been no different Grin

I lost 27lb with SW 18 months ago and have put 17 back on. I know it works for me as I lost that in 12 weeks so unless I plateau I’m gonna stick to that.
Tea tonight would usually be half a pizza but tonight I’m making chilli beef wraps Halo

MissingPanda · 26/01/2018 17:07

Ellie I have a fitbit which is connected to MFP. They are reputed to overestimate calories burned which is why I don't usually rely on it for extra calories. On the odd occasion that I do I subtract at least 20% of the total number of calories burned.

Springiscoming123 · 26/01/2018 18:09

evening all looks like many have had great iron will and have stuck to their plans, well done

its really interesting what others are doing, great for inspiration

have been out this morning had an appointment but not feeling great (bi-polar) and had a long sleep this afternoon so feeling slugish atm

did manage 10 mins on my vibration plate and has 2 slices of brown toast no butter but some marmite

need to eat more but did buy my high protein rolls from Lidl

OP posts:
Ellieboolou27 · 26/01/2018 19:27

Thanks panda I did think mfp gave to many calories so I'll just stick to my workouts and won't bother counting them - I doubt I'll be earning loads at the moment Grin

spring well done the vibrating plate sounds interesting Grin I used to have one many years ago.

Good so far today had protein shake for breakfast, veg soup and cheese for lunch

Pork and veg stir fry for dinner with 100g basmati rice, didn't realise how small a 100g cooked rice is!

Still have 300 cals left, I'm going to treat myself to a weight watchers chocolate dessert and a fat can Coke Smile

Springiscoming123 · 26/01/2018 19:48

hi Ellie sounds like you have had a good day so far well done

vibration plate, there is very little written about it,how did you find it,did it make a differrence, was it worth it??

WantToFeelFabulous · 26/01/2018 20:14

Hi all, can I join please?

I am really, really struggling with self sabotage. I am so desperate to lose weight yet keep failing to stick to my calorie goals (my fitness pal).

I'm early 30's and want to lose about 3 stone. Finding it so bloody difficult.

MissingPanda · 26/01/2018 20:29

I had salmon and fries for tea which brought me in just under my calories. Then I went and spoilt it all by having 6/7 celebrations as well Blush Nothing more for me tonight. On the bright side I'm only 143 calories over the total number of calories allowed over the last 5 days. I could still come under my total allowance for the week if I watch what I'm eating over the next two days.
