Anyone up for a current thread? I've had a good search and couldn't find anything recent!

I've got the book/cd and am downloading the app too. I'll start tonight.

I've never done this kind of thing before but am very open to it working :)

Hey foof, don't be lonely!

I'm been laid low with the flu but hope to try again from tmw I think. Must stop coughing SmileGrin
6lbs is fab by the way well done

Steala · 05/02/2018 07:17

Sorry to leave you on your own. I have been rubbish. My food is gone before I know it and I'm craving more and it's not because I'm hungry. Hopefully this week will be better.

Solo · 05/02/2018 23:27

well done! 6lbs is fabulous! :)

I confess to not having started yet. But, today even though I know I'm allowed to eat them, I walked away from the Danish Pastries in Costco. that was a big win for me!

DancingLedge · 05/02/2018 23:33

Only just found you guys.

Started it once, was a real gamechanger.

Had thought of giving it another go, will dig out book tomorrow, and be back.

Feezles · 06/02/2018 10:53

Hi there - just wanted to give you a bit of moral support. I did this a while ago, and it worked really, really well. It took quite a while (several weeks at least) to reprogramme myself, but once I had got it, it was fabulous. I felt in control of what I ate and the weight tumbled off despite me never denying myself the food I wanted.

It all went to pot after about 12 months, because circumstances dictated I move back in with my mother for a short while and she WOULD NOT countenance plates that weren't emptied. I was surprised to find how quickly new habits were broken.

I've often thought I should get back into it, but never quite managed, as it was hands down the easiest way I have ever lost weight - once I got through the initial 'brain training' phase. I don't think it is quite right for me now, with the distractions of hubby (who is NOT a believer!) and a small child, but I did want to wish you luck and reassure you that it really does work!

Solo · 06/02/2018 14:58

Feezles thank you :) I too had huge success with PMK before; it is the best way to lose weight.
Do you really need your Dh to believe in how you choose to eat? If it suits you and you know it works for you why not just do it? Thanks I know you'll be supported on here! But good luck whatever you choose to do.

ppeatfruit · 07/02/2018 14:03

Hey Solo Grin how are you? ! Hello Foof

I'm maintaining a 3 stone loss with PMK (I forget how many years I've been doing it! ) it's the best IMO!! It's for life!. I'll give a hand to anyone !

FoofFighter · 07/02/2018 14:33

Just a heads up that there's a feature on this in Best magazine out today www.facebook.com/bestmagazine/photos/a.439397416167.223354.27868561167/10156028461286168/?type=3&theater

Will grab one tomorrow and report back if it's worth buying!

Have blipped here, I think due to a horrendous period Blush but will listen tonight and get myself sorted again. Have noticed though that am still unconsciously applying the techniques of eating slower.

EggInABap · 07/02/2018 14:59

Hi all, can I join you please! I've done this before in the past and lived how I felt on it but couldn't keep it up. I can't find my book anywhere so I've just downloaded the app and will start tonight. About 4 stone to lose here!

To the pp who has managed to keep weight off for ages, please stick around with us and share your wisdom Smile

EggInABap · 07/02/2018 15:00

Meant to say loved how I felt on it not lived.

ppeatfruit · 07/02/2018 18:19

Of course Egg Grin. I've noticed that it is more difficult to be mindful of my 'hunger' when I've not slept well . Just as Solo says have a drink of water or hot chocolate if you want to indulge yourself. I like cinnamon and or cardamom on mine!

There is a biological reason for it ! Our guts don't secrete a hormone which makes us feel full when we need sleep!!! One of the greatest things about PM is that you can just begin again when you feel able and you don't need to buy any special foods or go to a club or anything!!

Solo · 13/02/2018 12:42

Hi Pp how are you doing? :)

ppeatfruit · 13/02/2018 12:46

I'm well thank you Sols How are you? This is a quiet thread Grin. We'll liven it up!!

FoofFighter · 13/02/2018 14:10

I got sick of talking to myself lol

I see there's a thread today about someone cracking the secret to long term weight loss - worth a read as it's essentially everything that PM says.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 13/02/2018 14:14

Yes I saw it too Foof That's how I feel , it's for life! Solo and I are here if you want a bit of support!

We were on a great thread about PM a few years ago!

DottyDotts · 13/02/2018 21:36

Hello, I've been doing this way of eating for over 10 years. It works as long as you do it and for me it means never restricting anything . If I do I seem to get the feeling I'm being dragged back into "dieting" and negativity.

Solo · 14/02/2018 00:52

:) I need to get back into this. I think 'our' PMK threads totalled around 16. But, it's good to get going again :) although I haven't as yet. I need to find my CD's out and my personal player.

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 14/02/2018 07:58

I’m in! Downloaded the app. He says come back tomorrow, so I shall. I am going to struggle a bit with the “eat when you’re hungry” as the dcs like me to eat with them (and I like eating with them). Their stepmother has an odd attitude to food that at least one of the girls is showing signs of picking up so I need to be careful, but I think I can manage to work round it. And a lot of the time I’m not with them so it should be easy to do 75% of the time. I am so guilty of mindless calories inhaled when I am doing something else; my actual meals aren’t too bad.

FoofFighter · 14/02/2018 09:43

@TolstoyAteMyHamster could you sit with a cuppa maybe?

OP posts:
LucyTB · 14/02/2018 09:53

I'm considering this - do I need the book or is the app OK to just have this?

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 14/02/2018 10:24

I could but would prefer not to - I think small portion and eat little would be less obvious. I really don’t want to send the wrong message to a newly body conscious teen girl, so take great care about what I do in front of her given what happens when she isn’t with me. She is skinny and has absolutely no need to worry about weight. I, on the other hand,...

DottyDotts · 14/02/2018 10:24

Lucy I haven't used the app but I have all his books. They come with a cd at the back. I have then put them onto my mp3. I have heard some people have issues with apps not working properly or not rewinding. Books can be bought from secondhand amazon book sellers very cheaply. I think reading the books is a very important part of understanding the mindful technique. In fact, you can do it just from the books alone. Biscuit

DottyDotts · 14/02/2018 10:29

Tolstoy good for you being aware of your daughter being at a vulnerable stage with regard to her own body image and what and how she eats. I started eating like this to also make sure my daughter didn't have body/food issues. She's now in her mid twenties and eats whatever she wants when she's properly hungry and...she's a size 8/10 . She has no food issues at all, just a good appetite.

ppeatfruit · 14/02/2018 10:47

Tolstoy OI think that you need to be a flexible especially when you are getting used this (and so is your body) . if you think you need a meal that fills you up very soon before you eat with the dcs, then instead have a big cup of whatever and eat with them.

The thing is that eventually you'll feel hungry when you normally do with the dcs . Also this is how children eat naturally,.

I felt really sick on Sunday because we went to a posh restaurant that keeps on serving you more and more courses I!! We all think we need more food than we do!! Our resting stomachs are the size of grapefruits !!!

The problem with the dcs is that their peers have a lot more influence than we do from a certain age. Dd2' s first proper bf started calling her fat , she wasn't , he was!! So she began on the dieting treadmill I was sad but there wasn't much I could do.

DottyDotts · 15/02/2018 22:04

How's it going Foo?
