Anyone up for a current thread? I've had a good search and couldn't find anything recent!

I've got the book/cd and am downloading the app too. I'll start tonight.

I've never done this kind of thing before but am very open to it working :)

I think I might be joining you too! I had a fabulous Dry Jan (and Feb) but didn't see the weigh loss I wanted because I got into the habit of rewarding myself with food. I think I need to restore the balance and stop seeing food as reward or punishment.

So I'll be downloading the Kindle version later and hoping that my inner cynic can listen to the hypnosis download without laughing...

TickledOnion · 20/02/2018 22:08

I’m thinking of downloading the app but have a silly question. Do you fall asleep listening to it? I don’t want to fall asleep with headphones in as I don’t like the idea of not being able to hear if my DCs get up in the night.

DottyDotts · 20/02/2018 22:08

Oyes with regards to "the gap" I find that even though I can leave half a plate of food because I'm sated I can still enjoy some pudding as it's sweet and a whole different taste sensation. So although I'm no longer hungry for more dinner on my plate, I can still have some pud or choc or lovely fruits but I use the same principle and stop when my taste buds are satisfied.

DottyDotts · 20/02/2018 22:13

gigi you have seen first hand by giving up sweet things for lent how forbidden fruit becomes much more desirable. By normalising all food as just food, not good or bad, you eventually stop idolising it. So I can buy cake Choc etc and have a bit and then take it or leave it. When I used to diet I would eventually binge and eat all the forbidden food.

DottyDotts · 20/02/2018 22:16

Tickled yes I inevitably fall asleep but surprisingly wake up when he says Wake Up. Most people do.

DottyDotts · 20/02/2018 22:17

Welcome Chalice, Mustard and Mercian

DottyDotts · 20/02/2018 22:18

haha Buster not mustard

CharisMater · 20/02/2018 22:20

If you're in to hypnosis try Thomas Hall as well. On You tube.

Is voice is less comically ''look in to my eyes look in to my eyes'' than Paul McKenna's is.

TickledOnion · 20/02/2018 22:20

Thanks Dotty Smile. I’ll give it a go.

DottyDotts · 20/02/2018 23:14

There are some good motivational clips by Paul and people who have done his cds and attended his seminars on You tube. Worth a look to inspire Smile

ppeatfruit · 21/02/2018 09:17

Thanks Oyesiam It's nice to be appreciated Grin

DottyDotts · 21/02/2018 17:17

How's everyone today?

chalice90 · 21/02/2018 18:24

Still feeling motivated with it mostly - although am only really having one 'meal' a day as such. One meal and a couple of snacks and don't want to eat anything before about 12.30/1pm. Has anyone else noticed that? Or something similar?

MercianQueen · 21/02/2018 20:17

I started reading last night - you can rattle through it, can't you?! Hoping to finish it and try the audio tonight, and start in earnest tomorrow.

I did find myself with a Twirl in my hand this afternoon, so had a go at properly savouring it. And it was lovely - one stick lasted all the way up the M5!

Then I decided it was too nice and inhaled the other stick Grin

DottyDotts · 21/02/2018 21:12

Chalice I don't eat till about 12 most days. I'm rarely hungry .

Solo · 21/02/2018 23:40

Tip: If you chew and chew and chew a mouthful of chocolate, you'll find it's actually really gloopy and revolting. That little trick put me off chocolate for about a year.

gigi556 · 22/02/2018 03:46

@Solo Shock Nice tip!

DottyDotts · 22/02/2018 09:43

Solo nothing puts me of chocolate 🍫. I put it in my mouth and just let it melt. Heavenly 💛

ppeatfruit · 22/02/2018 10:04

It depends on the chocolate! I have never liked milk chocolate, it is revolting in the mouth, you're right Solo !.

I love good quality dark ch. It takes much longer to eat (or melt Grin ). It is also almost healthy!!

Chalice If you feel properly satisfied after your snacks then that's fine. I find I start to pick if I don't feel 'full' after a meal.

DottyDotts · 22/02/2018 10:22

Pp Green and Blacks Madagascar dark with vanilla. Especially when I dip strawberries in and let it set. Mmmm!!

ppeatfruit · 22/02/2018 10:29

Dotty We live in Fr. for 6 months of the year and have done serious research into dark chocolate!!! Blush

The french is better than the belgian and that is a bit better than G & B's! (it has lost something recently, we got a mint one and it had no mint flavour!) Though there is a lovely ginger chocolate that I get in HF shops in England I think it's made by Organica.

Ohyesiam · 22/02/2018 17:00

Hello, I thought I'd check in.
I'm not binging, and that makes me very happyGrin
I'm not eating slowly enough at times, and have trouble knowing when I'm full.
BUT
I am somehow " unhooked" from food in a delightful way. Again, this makes me happy.
And I haven't even tranced yet!

DottyDotts · 22/02/2018 19:47

pp it's because Cadburys now own Green and Blacks. Even Cadburys Creme eggs don't taste the same nor Cadburys chocolate itself.

DottyDotts · 22/02/2018 19:49

ohyes sounds good to me.

ppeatfruit · 23/02/2018 09:25

Oh thanks Dotty of course. Poor old Cadburys has been going down hill for many years now (since it has sold out to shxx owners!!).

Well done Oyesian You'll get there with feeling full. It works if you eat what you would normally (not more) and then wait for about 5 mins, you get the full feeling eventually!!
