Anyone up for a current thread? I've had a good search and couldn't find anything recent!

I've got the book/cd and am downloading the app too. I'll start tonight.

I've never done this kind of thing before but am very open to it working :)

gaggia It becomes second nature eventually Grin. I even just do the counting backwards thing to get to sleep sometimes!

gaggiagirl · 28/04/2018 19:55

Ooh I might get the book then.
I will definitely use the backwards counting to get to sleep tonight it works like a charm for me!

SoupDragon · 28/04/2018 20:00

To anyone doing the app. You get a 21 day program, then you have to restart it.

You can just play the nighttime hypnotic session from the Day 21 menu. It’s the only bit I bother with now.

SoupDragon · 28/04/2018 20:03

Ive just noticed that all the sessions are available under the heading “sessions” in the menu too.

I’m kind of butting in here as someone asked me today if I had lost weight - this has never happened before so the thread title caught my eye!

Hi Soup Smile

seven201 · 29/04/2018 07:12

Hi everyone. I downloaded the free trial app last night. It doesn't seem to let me watch any of the videos! It's just a list saying only eat when hungry, what you you want and chew 20 times. When I click replay it's just the list again! Is that what it's meant to be? I the second video seems to be 6 mins long so I don't think it is working. Aghhh. I want to give up before I've started Confused

seven201 · 29/04/2018 07:15

Also, I thought it was bad for you to skip breakfast? I always have a bowl of bran flakes before leaving for work. I'm not hungry then but do it because I thought I should. I'm a teacher so only get set break times so don't think I could wait until after 11.

ppeatfruit · 29/04/2018 09:45

seven201 If you're not hungry why eat? If I hadn't been hungry early in the morning, I used to take a nutritious snack, nuts fruit and a drink ,when teaching, either I'd eat it on the way (when I felt hungry ) or at break time.

seven201 · 29/04/2018 10:06

I thought not eating for long periods of time had long term negative effects on metabolism? I think snacks are my problem. To me a snack is a 10 biscuits! I know it shouldn't be!

Dottydotts · 29/04/2018 12:00

seven Hi, it's not about not eating for long periods of time, it's about eating when your body is hungry for food. That driven need to eat that is rewarded by your first mouthful of heavenly sustenance. As pp said, don't eat if your not hungry, your body is wanting food then.

seven201 · 29/04/2018 13:10

Thanks dotty and ppea

ppeatfruit · 29/04/2018 13:29

It can take quite a while to unlearn old habits. I certainly can't eat a 3 course meal any more (without feeling ill! ) . I've got used to having a small plate with ENOUGH food on it! If I get full up and the food is delicious I say or think clearly to myself ; " Ok this is lovely but I'll put it in the fridge for later or tomorrow."

So for my snack (or little lunch) I used to take some macadamias, an apple and or dried fruit, they take a lot of chewing! Oh and always a small bottle of water.

Dottydotts · 29/04/2018 21:56

Seven obviously there will be many times when you eat just cause it looks nice but eating breakfast when I'm not hungry is just not possible for me.

Dottydotts · 06/05/2018 17:12

How's everyone doing? Given up Wink? I'm still reading Beyond Chocolate and it's like reading about those of us who have decided to never diet again.

ppeatfruit · 06/05/2018 21:10

Yes I was wondering that too Dotty Grin Us old hands know that if things go a bit awry one of the best things about PM is that you can just start back in whenever you feel ready! There's no such thing as failure!

gruffaloshmuffalo · 06/05/2018 21:29

I have just ordered the book, so looking forward to trying it.

I've unwittingly been doing some of what you talked about in the thread. Waiting until I'm hungry to eat. There's times I'm not hungry until 4pm, other days it's 11am. It's working well so far for me.

Dottydotts · 07/05/2018 00:06

Sounds good guff. Just take each day as it comes and keeping a journal is helpful. Writing down about your day and emotions can show how we sometimes use food as a coping mechanism and at other times not need food at all.
Hi pp Smile

Dottydotts · 07/05/2018 00:06

Sorry Gruff

gaggiagirl · 08/05/2018 22:42

I had to over eat this weekend. My PiL bought us a meal and I was full after 30% of it... But they were so keen that we enjoyed the food... Urgh. Never mind I was back on it the next day.

ppeatfruit · 09/05/2018 08:05

gaggia I sometimes do that after making my own brownies, I love them with custard! Not a big deal! Grin

ppeatfruit · 09/05/2018 08:06

How's it going generally?

gaggiagirl · 11/05/2018 01:53

Brownies and custard! Yum!
I'm still doing well. Had a hungry week but I'm OK with that. Still haven't got weighed. I've been trying the night time hypnosis with ear buds instead. I find it doesn't work as well for me. I must find them uncomfortable subconsciously.
How's everyone else doing?

ppeatfruit · 11/05/2018 09:06

If your jeans (or whatever) are looser then you're losing weight! I never weigh. When I used to I found I obsessed about it to much!

ppeatfruit · 11/05/2018 09:08

Well done by the way but you don't need to go hungry (that's one of the reasons I like this way of eating soooo much!)

OverTheHedgeHammy · 14/05/2018 21:20

Hi, can I join in? I've had the book for awhile, have had a brief read of it, sometimes listen to the CD, but haven't approached it seriously, and I think it's time to.

Will pull the book out and have a good read of it, starting tonight.
