Anyone up for a current thread? I've had a good search and couldn't find anything recent!

I've got the book/cd and am downloading the app too. I'll start tonight.

I've never done this kind of thing before but am very open to it working :)

and soup, porridge, yogurt? Can't chew twenty times

Solo · 26/01/2018 00:24

Hi FF :) Okay so, Only eat when you are really hungry for food in your tummy, not just mouth hungry. Often we are thirsty, not hungry. With the impossible to chew foods, take a spoonful, taste it holding it in your mouth for several seconds so that you really taste the flavours and enjoy them, swallow and count to twenty before your next mouthful. HTH. :)

Solo · 26/01/2018 00:27

And I should say that if I don't eat breakfast (because I'm not hungry) then I don't feel hungry until (sometimes) 12 hours later.

tobee · 26/01/2018 01:17

So I downloaded his gastric band one and read the pdf instructions. was a bit put off by the instructions saying about the pre op and how you need to walk 20 minutes per day and avoid fat and sugar for two weeks. Do you have to do that bit? Presumably you do?

ffab · 26/01/2018 05:18

I used the book and audio in 2010 and it worked really well. I'm struggling with weight gain (and probably mild depression) atm and am considering trying again, but I've lost the book and feel annoyed at having to buy it again! I too have ok days then graze all evening and am pretty disgusted with myself by bedtime. Can't seem to get rid of the Christmas weight gain this year.

FoofFighter · 26/01/2018 10:42

Thanks Solo :)

Tobee, if it says to do it then ye I guess it's part of the system. I've not got that one though (plus very new to thin!) so can't comment really :)

I've just bought some scales for the first time ever. I've got my (3 days late) starting weight of 15st 8lbs.

How often should I weigh? I'm not the kind to get obsessed about it so the longer the better I think?

Thank you!

FoofFighter · 27/01/2018 14:59

3pm and just starting to feel hungry.

How's everyone getting on?

I am finding myself with a wandering mind during the hypnosis, I was thinking about driving lessons last night. Will the stuff still sink in subconsciously?

OP posts:
FoofFighter · 27/01/2018 19:20

Had cereal after posting and left some in bowl, just had beans on toast for dinner and left some again, did the slow chewing and cutlery down.

Now I have got food inside me though I keep wanting to eat more Confused

OP posts:
Solo · 28/01/2018 01:52

I didn't do the exercise part before. I have ME so exercise can floor me. Don't think I did the other parts either and I never did finish the book but, what I did read was very good except that the first time I did the gastric band CD it worked really well; then I did it again as a top-up and it seemed to 'undo' itself.

Tip: If you can't get the worm out of your head about wanting to eat something even though you know you aren't hungry; have something like a hot chocolate; drink slowly and really enjoy it. Worked for me.

I'm going to look out my CD's over the next few days. Was thinking of cutting out sugar but, I don't really like to diet.

Solo · 28/01/2018 01:54

Oh and yes, my head wandered too before and I nearly always fell asleep but, it all still goes in :)

FoofFighter · 29/01/2018 14:53

I'm walking more :) not from actual choice, more necessity, they've taken our bus service off! but I don't generally do exercise, never have done, just not that kind of person really.

I had a chinese takeout last night which while I did eat far less than normal, I didn't eat it mindfully and I cleared my plate. But I don't feel any guilt and it's not triggered any oh well blown it now, might as well stuff loads of food in kind of feeling like normal.

honeyroar · 29/01/2018 19:16

Is this his first diet book? I got his sugar one last year and he says he could never understand why his general weight loss followers often failed (as he couldn't see the reason why) until he looked more closely at sugar and it's affect. Might be worth having a read of that too?

FoofFighter · 29/01/2018 20:45

Thanks for the tip

OP posts:

What is it called honeyroar?

Steala · 30/01/2018 09:15

Please can I join? I used this very effectively years and years ago but tried again a few years ago (hi Solo, I remember you!) and had very little success. The most helpful thing for me was not his book and I did it without the hypnosis the time it worked, but a US tv series called I can make you thin. He went through it with people individually and it really brought it home to me. I can't find it anywhere now, unfortunately.

The drawback for me is comfort eating. When I'm stressed or bored, I wNt to eat. I think it's like a baby with a dummy or a child sucking their thumb. I can't see a way round that. Other than that, the system makes sense. It resonates with me that I think about food constantly and then when I eat, I wolf it down while looking at a screen, or talking to the family, then I look down at my plate and it's empty and I have no recollection of eating it. Mindful eating makes so much sense but is such s difficult habit to start.

I'd be grateful for any tips!

Hi Steala :) have you had a change of name?

Thanks FF Thanks.

I haven't started again yet. I will do though once I find out my CD's and books.

honeyroar · 30/01/2018 19:40

FoofFighter · 31/01/2018 07:43

Missed my hypnotic trance last night as my boyfriend stayed over and I was too embarrassed to put it on Blush

OK so today was the first day I've felt hunger pangs before 2pm, around 10am I had a bowl of shreddies, left about a 6th of the bowl.
At 2pm I had two slices rye toast and marmite. Didn't leave any.
Just had baked potato thanks to a thread yesterday! beans, cheese, salad and left about 1/4 of the potato/beans.

All eaten mindfully and slowly. Took almost 20 minutes for tea tonight, it was admittedly stone cold by that point!

FoofFighter · 01/02/2018 19:17

Another good day :) felt hunger earlier again today. Feeling it now for the first time on an evening. Will have a glass of water and if still hungry after 20 mins will have something
