Anyone up for a current thread? I've had a good search and couldn't find anything recent!

I've got the book/cd and am downloading the app too. I'll start tonight.

I've never done this kind of thing before but am very open to it working :)

OverTheHedge Of course , you're very welcome , we seem to have lost a few!! Grin

gaggiagirl · 17/05/2018 08:52

I'm on day 40 I think. I did one day this week absolutely shovel my evening meal down and probably over ate. It was just the one meal though and I was STARVING by the time I served it and my toddlers were trying to steal bits from my plate!

ppeatfruit · 17/05/2018 09:26

It was just one meal though Exactly gaggia Well done!

I had a fantastic lunch yesterday (it was a french restaurant and was 4 courses, which is comparatively small !!) I still knew I was overeating but back to the norm today!

DottyDotts · 18/05/2018 14:21

Gaggi May I suggest reading "Beyond Chocolate ". It is an excellent book written by two sisters who overate. They run workshops and have online real support for women like us. They have been there, done it and got the t shirts. It's the same principle as PM and mindful eating but they are real women like us who have done it. They have been overweight and struggled with all the diets , clean eating, low carb etc . Plenty of helpful ideas and physiological understanding with it. As I owner of all Paul's books i recommend this book above all others. It gives you so much more .

ppeatfruit · 20/05/2018 09:12

I wonder if it would work for Dh as well Dotty ? or is it too girlie? he's in dire need of good advice and won't take it from me! Well he does a bit but not enough!

gaggiagirl · 22/05/2018 09:26

Thank you Dotty I shall download it on kindle.
I didn't have my evening meal til 7pm last night. I can't believe I 'survived' that long but I wasn't hungry so all good.
Still not weighed, I don't think I will at all now. Like you all said previously, just pay attention to how my clothes fit. My jeans definitely feel looser today.

ppeatfruit · 22/05/2018 10:09

Great!! sounds like you're doing well gaggia Flowers

DottyDotts · 22/05/2018 12:07

pp don't think it would work for your DH. It's an inspiring book though, maybe you would enjoy it and Solo. It's same formula as PM but by two sisters who grew up having issues with food without ever talking to each other about it. They are British . So they are real women who had real food issues and sorted it without dieting. Whereas PM does it theoretically.

ppeatfruit · 22/05/2018 12:40

Oh thanks Dotty is it the one where they fill their cupboards with all the rubbish food they crave and because it's there they don't crave it any more?

DottyDotts · 22/05/2018 13:01

No Pp. They do take a food from their binge list ie real icecream and allow themselves to eat it whenever until the desire for it has past. But the whole book is aimed towards never dieting again and being your own "Guru". I've joined their Facebook page as it's very active daily so really helpful for those trying to do this way of eating. I myself eat what would be considered a really healthy diet. Loads of fruit veg salad with protein. I don't eat diary . What you call "rubbish" foods I rarely eat. If you banned me from eating them though I would definitely crave them. Smile

DottyDotts · 22/05/2018 13:10

This is the book

Me too Dotty One of the things I like about PM is that those foods that have no substance to them, are difficult to eat and chew slowly, they just stick to your mouth. I also like a bit of dark chocolate but literally can't eat the high sugar stuff, actually ANY high sugar or salt food. it tastes so bad!!

gigi556 · 16/12/2018 20:49

Guess this thread went a bit dead. Anyone still doing this? I never properly got into it but I really want to. Just need to find the umph again!

loraflora · 19/12/2018 11:43

I am new to this thread. I started 7 weeks ago and have lost 10lb so far. As I couldn't get myself back in the right mindset to diet before this, it's great to discover something where I don't need to count anything and helps circumvent any self-sabotage.

gigi556 · 19/12/2018 20:27

@loraflora how have you managed to get into it? I found even though it's not a diet it still requires self control to eat slowly and consciously and I found it difficult and fell off the wagon. I want to get back into it tho.

loraflora · 20/12/2018 11:11

@gigi556 I was quite a fast eater before this, and taking at least 20 chews slowed me down. Although I still find it easy to forget if I don't check myself. One thing that isn't working so well right now is the suggestion about wanting to do more exercise. I seem quite resistant to that but know that I should do something.

jessicasmom · 20/12/2018 21:46

I tried it but it didn't help. Maybe I'm just a lost case. :(

Inittowin2 · 28/02/2019 15:27
