Anyone up for a current thread? I've had a good search and couldn't find anything recent!

I've got the book/cd and am downloading the app too. I'll start tonight.

I've never done this kind of thing before but am very open to it working :)

Hi I'm back on line again. Esp. Dotty . Pleased everyone had a nice Easter Grin and welcome to the newbies Grin Solo Come on girl you can do it again!!!!! Grin

I like your user name gaggia DH's favourite make of coffee grinders !!

gaggiagirl · 21/04/2018 11:24

ppeat yes! Love a gaggia machine. Mine died a death unfortunately.

I haven't weighed myself. I didn't want to at the start because I didn't want to know how bad it was. But my coat definitely feels looser so I must have lost something. I was struggling to get the zip up a fortnight ago.
Maybe I'll use my coat to 'weigh' myself.

How is every one else doing?

gaggiagirl · 21/04/2018 11:25

liz have you weighed in? So. Glad it's working for you.

Dottydotts · 21/04/2018 12:53

Hi pp welcome back Smile🤗

ppeatfruit · 21/04/2018 13:58

Yes gaggia `I haven't weighed for a long time, I just go by my full length mirror (looking sideways at my belly!). and or my clothes. It works better for me than obsessing about my weight. !

Thanks Dotty Grin

Hello,

Do you mind if I join please... I lost 9 stone then as I was trying to lose the last 2 stone I ended up gaining 3 stone since last summer!! My plan was to get to my goal weight with weight watchers pro points thenuse intuitive eating to maintain however every morning I am starting weight watchers then by midday I am bingeing like mad and promising myself I will be better tomorrow!!!

I am moving overseas in just over a week to a warm country where I want to wear all my beautiful size 12 clothes when I am actually a size 16 - at least!!!

I need to sort my relationship with food out and also lose the rest of this weight!!!

I have the book on my kindle and will reread tonight with the cocktails I had planned!!

If you have any tips or success stories I would love to hear xx

Dottydotts · 21/04/2018 16:27

Hi Charlotte. Dieting has a lot to answer for doesn't it. From the moment you start your first one to the present day and Obsessing about food and our bodies every single day in between. Then there are the reasons why we ever felt the need to deprive ourselves of food in the first place. Perhaps a hurtful comment by a family member, teacher or friend. This way of being gets you back in touch with your own real hunger. You will lose weight if you eat when you are hungry and stop when satisfied (not full) eat what you want without depriving yourself and move. Support is essential so read the books, read other books on the subject and keeping a journal helps. If you overeat then just accept it as part of learning and move on.

Dottydotts · 21/04/2018 16:42

If anyone is interested in more reading material, I'm loving Beyond Chocolate by Sophie and Audrey Boss. Nice to read their strand how they made peace with their eating and consequently lost weight.

Dottydotts · 21/04/2018 16:43

"Stories" Read their stories...grrrr!!

ppeatfruit · 22/04/2018 09:10

Of course you're welcome charlotte PM involves quite a bit of changing our attitudes to eating etc. I reckon it's the way we should all eat (it's the way children eat naturally, if they aren't forced to clear their plates).

ToEarlyForDecorations · 22/04/2018 09:18

Been doing Paul McKenna I can make you thin on and off for 22 years. It's excellent.
Unfortunately, I lose weight, gain weight like any dieter. I did lose a lot and kept it off and I (all together now) now weigh more than ever.

ToEarlyForDecorations · 22/04/2018 09:21

Then I go back to the Paul McKenna hypnotherapy and start all over again.

I can feel myself motivated to exercise. I can feel my, 'full' signal. It really works. Albeit the guided meditation can feel a bit like, 'say your prayers.'

I lost a stone, put it back on again and I'm now to ashamed to face the scales.

Dottydotts · 22/04/2018 11:17

Tooearly why do you go off PM?

charlottelouise1234 · 22/04/2018 14:54

Thanks guys! I have read beyond chocolate too (they have a really good Facebook page!) the only thing I struggle with there book is being happy with the way I am at the size I am but then that mentality isn’t helping me!! I just admit I read a story on the daily mail about the 5:2 and contemplated doing that for an hour until I realised I will do what I always do and binge today, start it tomorrow then just binge again! Instead I had a cheese and chorizo croissant with some cucumber and tomatoes and ate slowly (partner even commented on how much slower I ate!) and I left some!! Busy day of packing our house as moving and we are getting a takeaway tonight but instead of bingeing on pizza I think I will have a lovely pasta dish as I enjoy it much more and will split it straight away to lunch for tomorrow. Feeling a bit more motivated to carry this on! Have a lovely afternoon xx

Liz38 · 22/04/2018 21:14

Hi gaggia I haven't weighed myself, deliberate decision to make it about something that isn't the number on the scales. I was measured at the gym on Wednesday and will be measured again in 4 weeks so I'll ignore till then. But I'm cheating with a proxy weigh-in by my belt hole on my jeans.

It's been funny trying to listen so far. Seems the ancient CD walkman I've been using when DH is at home only plays the left ear so all the right ear only words are lost. And when he clatters around or blows his nose incredibly loudly it's very distracting! But i think something is trickling in... changes are afoot... day 7 tomorrow.

Is everyone else feeling positive about the start of a new week? Good luck!

Dottydotts · 22/04/2018 21:45

Charlotte I get the "be happy with the size you are now" thing. It seems to be said a lot that to accept yourself as you are now helps you to not focus on weight loss but usually the results are that you will naturally lose weight to become what is right for you

Dottydotts · 22/04/2018 21:47

Liz sounds like you need different earphones or that you havnt got them pushed in hard enough to Walkman

ppeatfruit · 23/04/2018 09:42

tooearly As PM says shame shouldn't come into it Grin As you know of course its just a few habits that need changing.

I do notice that weight goes on easily now (it's my age I think) Grin I use a digestive supplement, it's brilliant for negating that extra bit of weight. I do have to keep my eye on the mirror. I don't weigh.

DragonsAndCakes · 23/04/2018 14:25

Afternoon all!
I finished reading this yesterday. I haven’t done the exercises. I may or may not.

So far I’ve discovered that I stay a tiny bit hungry for aaages. Which makes me realise that a lot of the time I’m eating way too early. And then occasionally I’m absolute ravenous which he’s also saying is not a good thing.

All very interesting. I’m definitely wanting to eat less.

ppeatfruit · 24/04/2018 10:06

Dragon It's interesting about hunger, I've noticed that my hunger can show itself in different ways. Sometimes I start to feel 'spaced out' and or bad tempered , that's when I haven't slept well! But it can last a long time.

Apparently we lack the enzyme in our gut that signals our fullness when we 're needing sleep. (so that's nearly everyone with children under 2 then!!)

gaggiagirl · 27/04/2018 12:42

I got complimented on losing weight yesterday! day 21 today and I still haven't weighed myself but I really feel I look lots better. its that just the positive thinking? I feel happier in my own skin every day. I notice Paul saying the hypnosis session that we will be compelled to see ourselves in a positive light and its certainly working for me

ppeatfruit · 27/04/2018 13:27

Great news gaggiagirl Well done!!

Dottydotts · 27/04/2018 22:16

Yes, sounds so positive gaggi Smile

gaggiagirl · 28/04/2018 10:43

Thanks everyone!

To anyone doing the app. You get a 21 day program, then you have to restart it. But you get a day without Paul as you can't start the app on the day you get it... You have to 'come back in the morning'
So today is my day without Paul...... How will I manage today without the reminders and mini sessions?

Dottydotts · 28/04/2018 12:46

gaggi do you not have book and CDs? I have them all on my ipod so can choose one whenever.
