I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

Ha, yes, I reported the lot of them. OBVIOUSLY if only we'd spent the last 6 months drinking magical green tea we'd all be waif-like by now. Too funny!

IsabelleSE19 · 20/06/2018 12:31

Shame for them they caught us on a good week where we don't need extra advice snake oil !

Caggie09 · 25/06/2018 06:44

Ive made it!!

Last week: 10st 1
This week: 10st!!

Now all ive got to do is tip into the 9s. Hope everyone else has good news!

PixieN · 25/06/2018 07:31

Hi Ladies,
Please can I join you? I’m on another weight loss thread, but extra support & accountability can only be a good thing, esp when it’s so bloody hard! I normally weigh in on Tuesdays but here goes:

Starting weight: 11st 12
Last week: 10st 8.5
This week: 10st 8

I’ve had an indulgent weekend so feeling pretty good about small loss. Well done @Caggie09 10st is my next big target. Final target is 9st 7.

lurkingfromhome · 25/06/2018 08:36

Caggie!!!! Amazing! Very well done - what a fantastic achievement.

Welcome, Pixie, of course, do join us. It sounds like you're doing really well.

As usual, I'm just putting on and taking off the same pound:

Last week: 10 st 0.8
This week: 10 st 1

Sigh. I have dropped to 9 stone 13.4 during cheeky midweek weigh-ins but I always bounce back up again. Had a slightly indulgent weekend but nothing too terrible (an ice cream on Saturday, a dessert on Saturday, a very small slice of cake yesterday when out but otherwise sticking to the plan).

Will just keep persevering and hope that one day before I'm 85 these last couple of pounds come off and stay off.

Isabelle, any good news to report? Anyone else been weighing in?

IsabelleSE19 · 25/06/2018 09:52

Morning all!

Starting weight: 12 st 9lb
Last week: 11st 9lb
This week: 11st 6.8lb

Very, very chuffed. Who would have thought that actually making sure you're not eating too much would help you lose weight?! Hmm

Well done caggie, and welcome and well done Pixie!

Sorry about your stubborn pound lurking, but it would be a pretty miserable existence if you couldn't have a couple of tiny treats every now and again. With the lovely weather and the football on I've been craving a cold glass of white wine or lager, but I daren't even look at how many calories that would be!

lurkingfromhome · 25/06/2018 11:24

Well exactly. I am not going to stop having the occasional treat and I eat so well the rest of the time that I'm sure it can't make that much difference. I hardly ever eat carbs, only eat dessert etc occasionally and never during the week, don't really drink, eat tons of veg & fruit etc etc etc.

No wonder you're chuffed, isabelle - that is an amazing weigh-in result! I actually think I might start MFP again this week and see if obsessively logging everything will help. I'm so pleased everyone is doing well (except me, but I'm not overly bothered about it now!).

Pinkroseuk · 28/06/2018 18:58

Hi Ladies- I joined this post months ago but have not been doing very well!
Went to hospital today and have to loose 40kg in 4 Months-
Any hints tips or apps that you might use to help you out would be very gratefully received :D
Thankyou

IsabelleSE19 · 28/06/2018 20:02

Hi Pinkrose - welcome back! I don't want to be discouraging, but 40kg in four months sounds nigh-on impossible! I've been getting great results on the My Fitness Pal app for the last few weeks, but the most you can set up as a weight loss on that is 2lb per week - just under a kilo.

For something more drastic than that, you'd be looking at going on a very-low calorie diet for the first few weeks I think. Did they give you any suggestions at the hospital? There was a really good programme on Channel 4 a couple of months ago that tested loads of the most popular diets to see how effective they were - might be worth giving it a watch on All 4 and seeing if one of them sounds like it might fit for you.

lurkingfromhome · 02/07/2018 08:11

Morning! Am first with the weekly weigh-in, I see:

Last week: 10 st 1
This week: 10 st 0.2

Yay! Although what EXACTLY will take to actually get to 10? I feel that my body is just mocking me now.

Good luck, everyone! Will check in again later.

Caggie09 · 02/07/2018 08:15

Hello everyone,

I did write a long reply last time and i must of pressed the bloody preview button! Very annoyingAngry

Anyway, i didnt do well last week. Ill start logging then ill eat cake, crisps and more junk. I wouldnt be to bothered if it was just the once, but it was most days. Im sure my body will be wondering what the hell is going one, one week i eat healthy, the next im basically binging.

Last week: 10st.
This week: 10st.

Hopefully in the 9's next week!

Caggie09 · 02/07/2018 08:18

Lurking soo close! Its such a tease!

IsabelleSE19 · 02/07/2018 10:00

Well done lurking! Nearly nearly! And well done caggie as well to be honest - to have a not-so-good week and maintain weight is okay really!

My amazing progress has stalled a little, but probably not suprising as the MFP plan I'm doing is only supposed to be to lose a pound a week, and I did three pounds in each of the first two weeks.

Starting weight: 12 st 9 lb
Last week: 11 st 6.8 lb
This week: 11 st 6.6 lb

Yesterday I got a bit shaky-hungry-hangry so had a few extra snacks (and didn't even log all of them Blush) – maybe because of the heat? This is my day where both children are out at school/preschool so should in theory be better, as it's the stress of the kids that makes me go to the cupboard!

PixieN · 02/07/2018 13:13

I’ve stayed the same at 10.8 for this week & last, but I didn’t eat very well over the weekend so that’s o.k.

You’re so close @lurkingfromhome Do you do much exercise? I had to do more to get from 11 to 10st - that seemed to take me ages! 9st feels like a long way away!

Pinkroseuk · 02/07/2018 22:04

Thanks @IsabelleSE19 - I think it's unrealistic too and they haven't given me any advice at the hospital.
I have started using that app and so far it reckons 8kg off if I carry on eating as I am in 4 weeks? I think even if I can loose 25/30kg I will be pleased. I haven't started increasing my exercise yet either so that should help too.

Unable to join the weigh ins as I hAve got the scales out and the battery has gone! Amazon are delivering a new one tomorrow!

Pinkroseuk · 03/07/2018 17:45

I have somehow managed since halving my food intake a day and exercising for the last week out on 3kg- not 98.1.
Could this be because it's different scales?! Or have I genuinely gained this?! Thanks

IsabelleSE19 · 03/07/2018 18:19

Oh dear - sorry to hear that Pinkrose! There can be a difference between scales, equally sometimes you just get a bad week for no reason. I don't know if you ever watched The Biggest Loser (I used to be addicted to it!) but on there they would always lose loads in the first week or two and then have a week where they lost nothing, or even put weight on. And that was with top personal trainers and working out for hours every day!

If you stick with it you should start to go in the right direction again. Are you doing My Fitness Pal to log calories? Can be helpful - I was eating way more than I thought I was when I actually noted everything down.

Pinkroseuk · 03/07/2018 20:18

Mrhabks @IsabelleSE19 I will look into that.
I have been using the app and having about 1000 calories a day- yes scary when you add up exactly what I used to eat! I physically feel like I have lost some but the scales appear to disagree!
I will keep persevering! Onwards and upwards(or not haha!)

Caggie09 · 05/07/2018 13:19

Ive been feeling so low on self confidence for a few days. Ive been taking photos on mfp everyday to keep track. I feel horrible looking at them and im 7lbs away from my final target, i just dont think it will be enough amd i need to go abit lower. Maybe knock into the 8's. Just seems like ill be at it for ages if i keep setting new targets. It would be another stone and half to try amd get off. Argghh, i dont know!
Sorry for the morbid post!

IsabelleSE19 · 05/07/2018 13:44

Hi caggie - sorry to hear you're feeling so down. I don't think you need to worry about changing your target yet, just maybe see how you feel when you get to it. It is hard when you hit a plateau - I'm on yet another one this week it seems, although I did eat an entire takeaway pizza on Tuesday so that might have something to do with it! Have spent the last couple of days atoning by going fairly low-calorie.

It may be quite telling that I haven't done the photos thing at all - I just don't want to see it!

Maybe rather than setting a new ultimate target you should give yourself a goal for the end of the month or something, or for a week from now, just to change your focus?

I'm so busy with work and tired that I've completely stopped exercising which is no good, apart from the steps I do on the school runs.

lurkingfromhome · 06/07/2018 11:13

Caggie!!! You have done so well, can we do anything to help you get you back on track?

I agree with Isabelle, actually, that it's much much better to divide the total target weight loss into small and manageable increments and no look further ahead than the next one or it becomes too daunting and it's easy to give up in despair. I never looked more than about 3-4 lbs ahead and there was always a mini-goal to work towards. If I were you I'd set a goal of 1 lb a week for a month then reassess things, then another 1lb a week for another month.

Also I bet you look better than you think you do. It's so easy to focus on the bits we don't like and forget how far we've come. I'm obsessed with the size of my waist even though I've actually lost 3 inches from it.

And remember I could write the book about plateaus as I seem to be on a permanent one at the moment Grin.

@PixieN - thanks for your kind words Smile. I do exercise - I used to run then I stopped for a year and I started again about a month ago and am really enjoying it as it's much easier now that I've lost nearly 2 stone. I've been wary of exercising as I'm aware it doesn't actually burn that many calories but of course gives you a huge hunger afterwards so it's easy to undo all the good it does. I'm trying to keep that under control by running on a completely empty stomach and then just having breakfast when I get home. I wonder if next week will be the week that I FINALLY reach 10 stone ...

Caggie09 · 06/07/2018 11:44

I do agree with setting a monthly target. In thinking by the end of July 9st 10.
Its not alot, but i dont want to push it to far for me to crack.
I feel better today, it comes and go's really. Thank you for your support and your words.

I hope you reach that 10st on Monday, you deserve it!

PixieN · 08/07/2018 22:32

Good luck for tomorrow @lurkingfromhome 👍

I just hope for 1lb a week loss & anything extra is a bonus!

Caggie09 · 09/07/2018 06:50

Morning everyone! Already wrote this out but clicked the wrong buttonHmm

Last week: 10st
This week: 9st 13

Im out of double figures, by a small amount but im there! Just need to hold onto it and not go back. Ive knocked my calories down on mfp to 1480, was eating 1580. So hoping it spurs on more losing.

Hope everyone gets the weigh in they want, Lurking, fingers crossed for you!

PixieN · 09/07/2018 07:44

Well done @Caggie09 I’m chuffed this week as I’m just 1lb away from a 1 and a half stone loss overall.

Last week: 10.85
This week. 10.6
