I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

I’m in. Bought digital scales to replace the older dial ones. Stood on them, am A STONE heavier than I thought. 11st 3, at 5ft4. Would like to lose 2 stone. Is that possible by July?

Talkinpeace I know, but I have no patience (adhd tendencies) and can stick with it for a few weeks but as soon as I plateau or put a lb on I lose the plot. Ice been doing this for years now and think I need the satisfaction of seeing it coming off and feeling now confident to keep me going. I've had to buy size 16 jeans ffs and can't stand the way i look.

Have you looked at 5:2 combined with 16:8
its a method that can have rapid results but teaches good habits at the same time
and allows Cake and Wine at least once or twice a week.

Its not for everybody, but does seem to get results on busting tummy fat in middle aged women Grin

@ObiJuanKenobi 8 months! Grin. I am hoping to reach target by May so it means I have done it all in one year! And thank you x

I'm 5ft 2 and 11st 12. Would really like to be at 9st 7 at least but ideally 9st. Totally agree it's 90% diet and 10% exercise, plus I'm terrible for rewarding myself post run!

WorkingMumOnTheGo · 14/01/2018 18:24

I didn't do any exercise at all. It was all purely down to food optimising so it can be done Smile

Can I join too?? I’m 5’4 and I am weighing it at 13st 7 and a size 16, and I feel disguising. I’m so angry at myself for letting myself get to this point.
I’ve just downloaded ‘my fitness pal’ and have counted calories all week and I’ve signed up for Pilates starting this week. I’m on medication so I can’t do any hard exercise so I’m starting here!

*copercabana stay - I’m 5’9 and 13 stone (was 13st 5 on NYD) we all have the same goal here!

My rule is don’t eat after dinner. I used to consume massive amounts after the kids went to bed. Toast or chocolate or cake. Now I eat dinner and THAT IS IT I can eat as much dinner as I like but must not eat after. It’s worked so far.

Oh also I stopped eating breakfast because somehow it makes me hungrier if I do. Weird. But if I don’t eat I can last till lunch time. If I do eat breakfast I’m starving again by 10:30. No idea how that works.

Talkinpeace I haven't tried 5:2 etc. Will look into it, how do they work?

I dont tend to eat until late lunch but stay up late and am hungry around midnight.

naughtycurly · 14/01/2018 18:42

Stinkpickle I am exactly the same if I eat breakfast, I will eat loads by lunchtime. I never have breakfast, I rarely fancy food before 11am. It's weird

Can I join?! Yet another 5'4" one to add to the list Smile. Have had a pretty crap 3/4 years healthwise and knew I had been putting on the weight but was shocked to see I'd topped 11 stone on new years day. Its only the second tme ive been that heavy and the first was when I was pregnant!

Don't do any exercise other than walking during my commute to work but on wek days I'm making myself walk 10,000 steps which I'm pleased with. Have been using MFP again and have got down to 10st 10. Another stone or so to go....

I'm not enormous but bigger than I'd like and after gaining over Xmas I'm finding it hard to stop gorging on the crappy stuff. I'm 5ft1 and was 9st8 today but 9st would be great. That half stone or so makes such a difference. I used to weigh 13st5 so I'm trying to be kind to myself but I'm just that bit uncomfortable in my clothes now and need to get some control back before I gain too much and it spirals!

Hi, can I join you? I started a combination of calorie counting and 16:8 today. Just to be up front, I've got a fair bit more to lose than the rest of you, but I find it much easier psycholically to break it down into chunks. First target is to lose 2 stone.

Report
naughtycurly · 14/01/2018 19:00

Dotty, I agree that half a stone makes all the difference. I have put on half a stone since Christmas and I can no longer do my jeans up.

I'm in - 5'4" - 57 and at least 12 st 7. The heaviest I have ever been. Will weigh in the morning .

What is 16:8. someone?

I don't know if this will help or just be annoying- please ignore me if it's the latter.
At the start of September last year I was 12st 13 and 5ft 4 - in my defence I've had two babies in quick succession but also I just ate too much (I was about 10st and a size 10 before I was first pregnant). Anyway, by eating smaller, healthier meals and exercising 4/5 times a week I got down to 10st 7 by Christmas. I'm not bragging (although I am v proud of myself!) I just wanted to say good luck, it can be done and it doesn't have to take forever.

Can I join too, I'm 5ft 7 and have a stone and a half to lose 🙈. A couple of years ago I was in the best shape of my life, looked and felt great - can't believe I've allowed myself to get back to this point. So pissed off with myself.

I’m 5ft7 and hoping to lose a stone,
I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and have bad habits and alcohol to blame 🙈 got my fitness pal and cracking 10000 steps a day so hoping this will help.
16/8 is fasting for 16hours and only eating during an 8 hour period

Can I join too. I’m 5’2” and 13st 4lb. I joined SW when my DD2 was 4 months and lost 2st (target was 3st), then I went back to work FT and it has just crept back on (she is now 3yo). The first stone or so was insidious but this last month has just piled on. It may the result of some meds that I’m now on (wishful thinking) but nevertheless I need a good kick up the —rather large— arse and some fellow ‘pilers’ to guide and assist Grin

Ok. Am staying. I lost 2.5 stone 2 years ago and felt good. Then put it back on due to medical reasons. I did it by walking and low carbing and cutting down on wine which is my nemesis.

I have got my Fitbit back up to date and I am going to do this!

Thanks all for support.

Oooo good glad you've decided to stay!!
I have completely given up fizzy drinks since new year (I was having 6-8 cans a day) so helping this will also help!
