kiki Team RH is a Facebook group (£3.50 pm, £15 joining fee I think?) it’s run by a couple, Richie Howey & Rachel Hepton. It’s really good, no nonsense/no bs/no fads and no excuses, he takes no prisoners haha! In a nutshell depending on your activity level you get your calorie allowance which is 500 less than you burn. You are expected to hit a certain level of protein/fibre as well, outside of that you can eat what you want as long as you hit your calories. I might be making it sound more complicated than it is, it’s just a way of learning to eat as a lifestyle rather than a temporary diet. Loads of people have fab results, and I would too only I’m a terror for weekend gluttony. But I know I can do it and it’s not miserable, it’s a great way of living, it’s improved my mindset dramatically- now I just need to do it properly so I can reduce my waistline!
Sorry for the essay, you can tell I’m a fan😂

goingonabearhunt1 · 02/01/2018 11:03

I'll join. I've been sporadically dipping in and out of these threads but have lurked on all of them.

I'm back on MFP and 16:8 and have been aiming for 10,000 steps a day (have a shiny new fitness tracker now so no excuses)

Been up and down throughout last yr, lowest weight was 9st,5lbs, current weight is 9st,11lbs and I want to get to 9st,7/8lbs. I'm just finding it really hard to stay there; think it's down to my alcohol intake and sugary snacking mainly.

HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2018 11:22

10.8 someone kill me that is 12lbs up from my lowest weight 9.10 in mid december at some point...

I have eaten nothing but cheese chocolate and cocktails since the 22nd so I more than deserve it 😂

Here is to a golden January all, first goal get back into the 9s

NewYearNiki · 02/01/2018 11:24

I'm still haven't weighed. Not near a scale while away.

I may not weigh. I may just get back on the wagon and weigh when I feel I have made some progress again.

NewYearNiki · 02/01/2018 11:26

In a way I hate Christmas. Gyms are shut, my classes not running, bad weather so can't cycle. Bad food.

HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2018 11:35

I love Christmas, we have a huge family and me and my siblings are still the babiea so we get fully spoiled...

Got a super weird gift off DP he said it was a big surprise.... something I had wanted for ages... so naturally I was excited....

Ladies, he got me a..... (drum roll please)
Purple lava lamp Confused

NewYearNiki · 02/01/2018 12:02

That is awesome hairspray. I would be chuffed with that.

My family are small and not very nice so I didn't even spend it with them this year.

loveisenough · 02/01/2018 12:10

I'd like to join please, not weighed myself yet but know I need to lose at least 2 stone. I was loosely following the 8 week Blood Sugar Diet which worked very well for me and also brought my blood pressure down so will be going back on that when I get organised with shopping - aiming for 8 Jan onwards to be realistic.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/01/2018 12:14

Hairspray it will be fine I'm sure at least your damange wasn't as hilariously bad as mine!
11.4 this morning so 1lb down in Jan so far.

twinkledag · 02/01/2018 12:18

Weighed at 11 3 and 3/4! Hoping it's the easy on, easy off kind! Will miss my diet mainly consisting of Baileys Grin

Kikisdeliveryservice · 02/01/2018 12:57

Not2 Sounds like it's working for you and is actively encouraging healthy things!

Boop you are my Mfp inspiration! I know I've done my best work when I've kept a proper track of every mouthful, it holds me accountable and puts me in a mindful place.

goingonabearhunt1 · 02/01/2018 13:44

OK so far the plan to avoid office snacks is not going so well; have eaten 4 Celebrations and 1 Fox biscuit so far this morning Grin

I'm still well under my MFP allowance though and on track for 10,000 steps so it could be worse.

QuimReaper · 02/01/2018 13:45

'Eeeeeello 'ello 'ello! I thought we might get lots of new faces on this one!

I daren't weigh myself. Today will be my first golden day in a week and a half and my God I need it, I feel absolutely awful. I'm out two more times this week for the end of the festivities too, so I'll weigh in on Thursday morning to assess the damage.

About to read back. Grin at the lava lamp though Hairspray - is there some kind of back story (or does he seem to think there is)?!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/01/2018 13:50

Aww KiKi I'm glad it works for you. I'm on a 338 streak at the moment. It would have been longer but I missed a day when I was holiday last January Angry

QuimReaper · 02/01/2018 14:02

BOOP do you mean you haven't gone over 1200 in a year?!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/01/2018 14:22

Oh god no, I'd be 3 stone 4 if that were the case.

I mean I have logged everything I've eaten for 338 days, for good or ill

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2018 14:27

I have never expressed a wish to own a lava lamp Quim but he looked very pleased with himself so I have put it pride of place in the living room Grin

He also got me less weird gifts but I think the lava lamp will become a family heirloom 😂

QuimReaper · 02/01/2018 14:30

Oh BOOP that makes much more sense - I was wondering how on earth you'd managed that!

It's just so brilliantly bizarre Hairspray, I bet your face was a picture Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 02/01/2018 14:41

I find that if I kog everything (even if it's horrendous) then I'm much less likely to change a blip into a "fuck it!"

OP posts:
fishonabicycle · 02/01/2018 14:44

I need to lose the 3 pounds or so I put on the last month. Possibly down to eating about twelvty million mince pies and about 5 kilos of Xmas cake. Also cheese.

BeyondWW · 02/01/2018 14:56

Me too usually BOOP. Apart from yesterday when I ate so many random little things (like individual chocolates) that I got sick of searching. Then I ate a whole bag of cashews... Blush

A blip where I eat a massive bar of galaxy gets logged. It never looks as bad as I think it will, which helps me to stop.

HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2018 16:32

I keep wanting to giggle when I look at it but I have to keep a straight face as I dont want to hurt his feelings!

Very very weird!

Therealjudgejudy · 02/01/2018 20:06

Checking in. Thanks for the new thread BOOP and happy New year all!

I got a head start on the gym by getting back on it end of December. Went again this morning and have the same planned tomorrow.

Flying to London for a week on Friday and my main worry is the hotel breakfast. I only ever eat breakfast when staying at a hotel so I need to resist the temptation to eat a cooked breakfast every day. Advise welcome!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/01/2018 21:01

Egg, bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomato, beans. Perfect!

Avoid hash browns, toast, sausage etc. Also avoid fried bread —because I can’t—

I love a fry up.

Thanks for the good wishes and hugs to you too mountain. It's not an easy time and far too easy to comfort eat.

The house is still full of Christmas treats which is making healthy eating pretty hard (I make a mean Christmas cake if I do say so myself). But I weighed myself this evening and the results were horrible so I really have to do something.

I'm trying to decide whether to go back to 5:2 or just eating less all the time.
