Checking in!

172 lb. Must be 134 for my wedding in July.

Right on track. I started at 209 in November.

Currently working on the exercise aspect. So far so good. We can do this!

ARichVernacular · 01/01/2018 14:29

Happy new year all :) I've started the year feeling fat, unfit and achy. I'm promising myself that I will not end the year feeling this way.

Made decent inroads into weight loss and fitness last year but seem to have thrown it all away on a December binge. I'd like to lose two stone this year and improve my fitness, as both of these will help to manage my chronic back pain.

Starting dry January today (hooray! Genuinely been looking forward to this), with a general return to sensible eating and exercise planned.

Will weigh myself when I can face it, maybe tomorrow.

vvviola · 01/01/2018 14:36

Can I join? I was doing really well with weight loss last Spring. I lost about half a stone and was running 5k three times a week. And then my Dad died suddenly and all my healthy eating and exercise went to pot.

I haven't weighed myself yet but will do by the end of the day.

I'm taking the DC to Disney paris at the end of February so I'd like to feel healthier by then. And long term I'd like to be back at a healthy weight by the time I turn 40 in 18 months.

IheartCaptainHolt · 01/01/2018 14:39

Thanks BOOP

BitOutOfPractice · 01/01/2018 15:01

Oh vviola I'm sorry for your loss. Good luck with getting back in the swing

I was on one of the earlier threads but slunk away after I kept losing and gaining the same pound. I started last January feeling fed up having gained 9 pounds after being made redundant, and I'm starting this one in the exact same place....

I weighed into today and while I haven't put on weight over Christmas (yet, I think it sometimes takes a few days to show on the scales) I've still got those extra nine pounds at least to go. And the scales show my body fat is over 27% whereas pre redundancy it hovered around 20%. So I'm trying to cut out all the comfort food, and the wine, and pretty much calorie count.

Vviola sorry for your loss

BitOutOfPractice · 01/01/2018 16:09

Fading that's still a very acceptable healthy fat %age for a woman

ponygirlcurtis · 01/01/2018 16:11

Sorry for your loss vvviola. Focusing on feeling healthier is a great idea.

muddledmidget · 01/01/2018 17:15

Hi I'd like to join you, currently weighing 12st and want to lose at least 2st of it, and preferably 2st7lb and make 2018 the last year that this is a resolution. I started on mirtazapine in November and have gained a stone since then, so now I'm feeling more like myself that's got to be the first to go!

Hardly any of my clothes for at the moment, and I don't want to buy anymore so I'm making do, but I can't wait to feel comfortable again. So January's goals are 7lb off and 10k steps everyday, looking forward to seeing some results! MM X

comeagainforbigfudge · 01/01/2018 17:36

vvvoila Flowers sorry for you loss

Soooooo after reading about your body fat % fading i remember my scales do body fat as well. So I jumped back on scales to measure that.

38% Shock. How disgraceful. Blush So disgusted with myself. But in a quiet, resolve to lose it way. Not bury head in sand. I feel I've lost my way with food. Need to have a good think on my plan of attack.

Chardonnay73 · 01/01/2018 17:48

I'm in! Have been careful with snacks over Xmas and eaten no desserts or chocolate and ran 3/4 times and seemed to have limited the damage - 2.5 Linda's over goal but still under the stone benchmark I set myself. I was 1.5 under goal so that's 4lbs on in total.
But I have eaten massive meals and drank like a fish and had a bit of a pork pie and pate addiction Blush
It's so nice to start January with only a small amount to lose rather than several stone!!
I would like to lose another stone by the time me and Boop go to Tenerife on 15th March.
I would be ecstatic at that...🙏
So back to limiting booze in the week and counting WW points.
Although I hate the new flex system 😡

fadingblonde1 · 01/01/2018 18:56

comeagainforfudge BitOutOfPractice I've heard that the bodyfat monitors on scales are pretty unreliable. Unfortunately since mine jumped up at the exact time I gained nearly a stone I can't deny it. And I can feel it's all fat I've put on, there's definitely no extra muscle hiding in there!!

BeyondAssignation · 01/01/2018 19:15

Mine does body fat, I have no idea how to do it though.

Came to bed to watch a film this afternoon and ate too many chocolates. Wonder if scales can measure body chocolate %... Blush

BeyondAssignation · 01/01/2018 19:16

I'm not too far off my step goal though, so that's something

twinkledag · 01/01/2018 20:23

I'm going to have to start tomorrow BlushGrin

leesmum · 01/01/2018 22:01

Thanks for the New thread BOOP
I'm with you and even though I've not weighed myself yet I know there's some damage done Grin so I'll weigh in on Fri and I think the 7lb for Jan is an acceptable target Blush
I've had an excellent Christmas and New year and don't regret for one moment the humongous amount of food and drink I've consumed but I'm ready to get back on track!
Hello and welcome to all the new people Flowers

MountainDweller · 01/01/2018 22:34

Happy New Year all, am rejoining after falling off many of these threads last year.

vviola I am sorry for your loss - I am in the same position as you. Have a lot to lose and was doing well for 6 months till last April when my Dad died suddenly. I spent too long being nice to myself Sad

Had a good day today and stuck to my calorie goal 😇. Still have some Christmas food to finish but will allow myself a small treat each today. Today I had some Wensleydale with cranberries, was lovely!

Have gained 1.5 kg over Christmas 😱 but am hoping it will disappear quickly.

poorpaws · 01/01/2018 22:48

Welcome newbies

Thank you for the new thread Boop, two pages done already, I think we’re on a roll.

Started today, went ok but not perfect.

Yee ha! We’re all on the wagon and ready to go.

poorpaws · 01/01/2018 22:51

Vvviola and mountain so sorry Flowers

cottonwool125 · 01/01/2018 22:51

Today was a good start. Not perfect, but definitely not horrendous! Was hoping to get a lovely long walk In today, however 10 minutes after setting off, DS fell head first into a puddle so that scuppered our plans somewhat Grin

Hope you've all had a good start to the new year Smile

Not2bObvious · 02/01/2018 09:17

Morning all. Did my official first weigh in of 2018 and I’m 11.10.8, so pretty much what I thought. 4.6lb up on pre Christmas weigh in, 7.4 up on lowest weight of 2017 so yep as I said yesterday I regained the 7lb I had lost. But that’s all history. I see people mention various different plans they follow, lchf/ww, I follow Team RH so I aim to burn around 2,200 a day and maintain a deficit of 500, so take in 1700. Anyone else following Team RH? It’s miserable here so it’ll be a struggle to get my steps in but if I have to march on the spot I’ll do it! Hope everyone has a great on plan day😉

KikisReindeerDeliveries · 02/01/2018 09:37

Ok, proper start day. I'm down with a lurgy so that is not making this easy but I refuse to allow it as an excuse.

Start weight 11.9.7 (heaviest I've been in a very long time)

I started up a new Mfp account and am recording every morsel that I consume. That's already been enough for me to change my mind about chucking some toast in the toaster!

KikisReindeerDeliveries · 02/01/2018 09:38

What's Team RH not2?

BitOutOfPractice · 02/01/2018 10:10

Morning!

OK so I'm 5.6 up. Not great Sad but I've enjoyed every mouthful

On it today so hopefully this is my highest weight ever now!

KiKi that's a good start! I love MFP

I managed to stay on track yesterday, had about 1000 cals and no wine. Wine can be my downfall because after one glass I really fancy a packet of crisps....
