Anyone else planning to start on 1st January?

I need to lose approximately 30lbs.

OP posts:

Weigh in tomorrow for me. Hoping for at least 1lb off in the last week. I havent done much exercise but I have eaten very sensibly.

Good luck to everyone else weighing in over the next couple of days.

frankiehat · 14/01/2018 19:44

So after complaining about my slow start where I actually put weight on I am down 5lbs this week... delighted I stuck with it so thank you for your words of encouragement!

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 14/01/2018 20:21

Great losses flex and frankie! Good luck on your weigh tomorrow wizzler and anyone else weighing over the next few days.

Bit of a mini victory for me this evening. Had chilli for dinner, accompanied with rice and a few Doritos. Doritos are a massive massive weakness of mine - I have been known to eat a full big bag to myself over the course of an evening Blush tonight, however, I weighed them out exactly to stay within my calorie limit and I am NOT having any more. Instead I'm feeling smug and drinking tea!

wizzler · 15/01/2018 06:30

Frankie that's brilliant. Well done Fading on your self control

WeirdCatLady · 15/01/2018 08:13

Well done on your losses Flex and Frankie. And fab self control Frankie!

Woop woop Go Us!

WeirdCatLady · 15/01/2018 08:14

Aw crap.....well done on your self control Fading! Blush

wizzler · 15/01/2018 18:17

Put on 2lbs .. gutted.
Am using Frankie as my role model, carrying on in the hope for more success next week
Still lost 2lbs in total, but honestly I havent cheated once this week . Even when I played tennis and needed ibuprofen I had the nasty ones and not the ones with the sugary coating!

squidkid · 16/01/2018 10:08

Went on holiday this weekend (lucky me) so had a few days off the diet! And ate some amazing seafood and drank lots of wine!
Back on it today!
Aiming for 10 mins pilates and 1200 calories (ish) a day. Once a week wine.
The spring me will look amazing!

WeirdCatLady · 16/01/2018 14:31

Another 5lbs off for me. I know it’ll settle down to about 1-2lbs a week soon so I’m enjoying this early success (plus I have 10stone to lose so have plenty to lose). Rewarded myself with a trip to the nail salon and some retail therapy.

RenaissanceBunny · 16/01/2018 14:36

Well done everyone ! At the weekend I had a couple of chocolatey things and didn't do my dancing but today it is back to the strict diet - I've got a graduation in June so want to look good for that. I'm down about 17lbs since 1st of Jan so working hard at it- I just need to maintain motivation. If I lose another stone I'll be at my interim goal which will be great so hopefully by the end of February I'll be there.

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 16/01/2018 16:24

Wow, Weird and Renaissance , amazing losses. Well done and keep it up. I've got the first of a few January social events on Saturday so trying extra hard in the build up.

frankiehat · 16/01/2018 21:15

Wizzler I have had random weight gain on ibuprofen caplets before - don't they make you retain water?

squidkid · 17/01/2018 07:36

Some amazing weight loss here well done! I'm incredibly impressed (and a bit jealous Grin )

I generally lose weight pretty slowly but I do keep it off.
In my early 20s I managed to lose & keep off 3 stone, but it took 3 years. I kept it off for a good 5 years though and only put on a bit of weight with children.
Not so much to lose now, prob just 10lb or so, so I think it won't be very quick, but I'd really like to be a good place by the end of the year.
I'm still not weighing myself, I dunno, I never found it very helpful or motivating, it just upset me. I don't keep scales in the house and don't really want my girls to see me weighing myself all the time. I can remember my younger self's measurements so I think I'll aim for that!

Yesterday was fine -I think I'm probably retaining some water from holiday eating but I'm just ignoring that and being good - did pilates, egg and toast for breakfast, soup for lunch, spinach and prawns for tea, lots of herbal tea and no wine ... I managed to eat an apple while cooking the kids pancakes which takes some restraint...

BeyondWW · 17/01/2018 08:46

Haven't checked in for a while, but still on the wagon :) I'm down 7.4lbs

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 17/01/2018 17:15

Well done Beyond.

BeyondWW · 18/01/2018 11:17

Thanks :) down again this morning -8.2lbs total. I know it is gonna slow down, but loving how my first month is going!

RenaissanceBunny · 21/01/2018 23:33

How's everyone today?

My weightless has totally stagnated - I've not lost anything this week which is rather disheartening. While I've been eating pretty much my usual I haven't been getting enough exercise - either walking or dancing - so I really need to focus on that next week. I'm thinking about running - just 2km to begin with but that is off the cards until the snow has melted and I've found my wireless headphones. It has been three weeks since New Year's and the healthy living began so it isn't surprising I've hit a bit of a willpower rut. Tomorrow is the start of a new week and a good moment to get back to it (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself?).

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 22/01/2018 08:07

A mild evening out has gained me 0.4 kg. Still 0.5kg down on the week. That's 1lb. Here we go, it's going to get hard now.

frankiehat · 22/01/2018 09:59

I was 9.7 on Wednesday and 9.8 today but blame AF and eating an entire (albeit homemade) pizza at the weekend.

This week my plan is 30 minutes runs Tuesday and Thursday and not drink in the pub tonight and Wednesday.

wizzler · 22/01/2018 13:35

1lb off so that's 3 in total
Still trying to eat mindfully and sensibly.
Renaissance stay strong. You may have reached a plateau ... but you have done so well since new year. I bet your weekly average is still one of the best on this thread

Chloe1984 · 22/01/2018 14:33

Those who haven’t lost try not too feel too down, as the more exercise you do the more you gain muscle, take more notice of how much better you are feeling than what’s on the scales.

RenaissanceBunny · 22/01/2018 23:01

Very true wizzzler.

I think for me so long as I'm eating healthily 90/95% of the time then I'm fine it is more about the exercise. I've been getting back into my dancing and still waiting for the thaw so I can try running. I'm going swimming tomorrow - I would have gone to the gym for the cross trainer but the place wants you to do an hours induction which I really don't think I need to use a cross trainer, stationary bike, treadmill, yeah if I wanted to do weights etc. Still swimming.

I have got a bit less strict with what I eat but I'm finding that I really don't need as much to eat as I used to. For example today I had a skinny latte, a cheese and ham toastie and another skinny latte (I was in Costa doing work) then turkey and pea pie with broccoli and boiled potatoes for dinner and that is it aside from some very large cups of tea. With dinner I really try to eat mindfully - I always thought it was a load of rubbish but it does actually work - taking time to sense your food and chew it. So I eat dinner at 1830 then a cup of tea the dancing then more tea around 2130/2200 and that's me for the night.

I hope there is a healthy week in store for all !

wizzler · 23/01/2018 13:26

Beyond you are doing so well

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 23/01/2018 16:06

Did 30 mins on the bike after work then walked the dog. JO harissa chicken thing for tea. 2nd attempt at that. It wasn't right last time.

WeirdCatLady · 23/01/2018 18:29

I’m so fucked off it’s unbelievable. Not lost anything this week. I’ve stuck to weight watchers all bastard week. I know all the yadda yadda guff about it all, but I’m 10 stone overweight and in week three! It should be falling off me.

I’ve managed to stick to my points today but it’s been very hard. 😡
