Well done Wizz and Flex! Fantastic losses!

My first week ends today so weigh in tomorrow. I’ve stuck to weightwatchers but today is my birthday so it’s all going out of the window (but only for one day). Not anticipating much of a loss tomorrow after all the booze and Chinese food and cake that will be consumed today. But hey, it’s one day a year so stuff it.

AppyForts · 08/01/2018 16:55

Hello all. Good to see we are already having some success. Started my healthy eating/no booze on Jan 2nd and have lost 4lbs already, which is great.

Just need to try to fit in some exercise (that doesn’t mean getting up when it’s dark to work out...can’t cope with it!).

Today I had:

Breakfast: overnight oats
Lunch: egg salad
Dinner will be baked sweet potato with veggie chilli & some fruit afterwards.

Marcine · 08/01/2018 17:12

I've just joined slimming world doing a 12 week countdown. I'm aiming to go from 11 5 to 9 7, which will take me just to a healthy BMI. 9 stone would be better but I'm being realistic.

Marcine · 08/01/2018 17:15

Today I have eaten
B porridge with a teaspoon of honey, banana and a fat free yogurt
L tuna salad an apple and a satsuma
Snack of a babybel
D meatballs in tomato sauce with rice, brocolli and courgettes

Amaried · 08/01/2018 19:31

Evening ladies

Great to see more joiners, some lovely ideas there for nice teas which I always struggle with.
I discovered airfried sweet potato wedges with frilight and they were surprisingly yummy
Down 4ibs this morning with happy with that, I've been pretty discipline though and even threw a creme egg my lovely colleague left on my desk in the bin..
Only 18 more to goConfused

squidkid · 08/01/2018 19:35

No weighing here but feeling better and clothes looser.
Breakfast: 1 piece toast with poached egg
Lunch: soup and a roll
Tea: veggie noodles, homemade
Snack: some dried mango

Still resisting alcohol which is the hardest bit.
Generally a bit hungry.
Doing "10 minute pilates" every day and whilst still a bit pathetic, can do more than I could last week.

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 08/01/2018 21:33

Well done all, sounds like you've all had good days - I've had a decent one too.

B - cup of tea and a banana.
L - butternut squash & chilli soup, slice of wholemeal bread
D - chana masala (again - I've got loads of leftovers!).
Snack - Graze protein flapjack.
Also 11k steps walked and a 40 min swim - manages just over a mile. Happy with the swim particularly as I used to swim a lot but injured my shoulder last year and am only just getting back into to!

WeirdCatLady · 09/01/2018 07:32

6lbs lost. I’m well chuffed. I’ve got a long long way to go but every journey starts with the first step doesn’t it.

wizzler · 09/01/2018 20:42

Well done Weirdcat and Amaried. Let's hope we all maintain the momentum.
I am struggling a bit today ... feeling very weary. It may be all the germs that Dd has brought back from school .. but I have really cut back on sugar ... could it be that ?

RenaissanceBunny · 09/01/2018 22:08

Well done folks ! Keep it up!

I have an overnight business trip tomorrow so I'll need to stay strong to avoid sugary coffees, pastries and the general unhealthiness of eating out. I'm planning to get soups for lunch so that should be ok. I'm taking my water bottle so I stay full. I've just bought some leggings 3 dress sizes smaller than my previous pairs so I really don't want to jeopardise that!

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 10/01/2018 09:18

Wow, fabulous loss weird!

How are you feeling today wizzler? Hope you're not struggling quite as much!

Hope you manage to stay strong today Renaissance! I always struggle when I'm away on business - pastries are just so tempting- but you've been doing so well so far so I'm sure you've got this!!

I had an ok day yesterday. We had a team meeting at work and my manager always brings in donuts...I caved but tracked it on MFP which allowed me to rearrange a few things later in the afternoon/evening which meant I didn't go too far over my calorie count. I've lost nearly 3lb since last week and am determined to keep the downward trajectory!

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 10/01/2018 15:48

I'd normally go for a mid week weigh in tomorrow morning but I lost so much last week (very unusual for me) I'm worried that if I haven't lost or, god forbid, have gained, then I'll lose my momentum. I've been good since Monday weigh in though, planned meals for the week and have stuck to plan.

wizzler · 10/01/2018 20:58

Feeling a bit brighter thanks fading. My friends at work think I shouldn't have gone cold turkey on caffeine. I have reinstated my normal cups of tea and feel much better.
Well done to everyone who is keeping up the good work

wizzler · 10/01/2018 20:59

...and stay strong Renaissance... move away from the pastries!

RenaissanceBunny · 10/01/2018 21:20

Good job wizzler in a couple of weeks when your body is back to rights get some decaf tea. I love a big mug of tea before bed but before I had decaf I’d be up all night. Now I only drink decaf... real coffee though.

FlexTime remember even if the pounds aren’t dropping off you’re already healthier than a week ago by making good food choices!

I’ve been pretty good today but dinner wasn’t the healthiest.

B porridge
S small skinny latte
L I got distracted by work and forgot to eat until about 4 so I skipped it
D scampi, chips, peas then sticky toffee pudding with ice cream Blush

I did still come in under calories on MFP and that is the first cake, treat or unhealthy meal I’ve had since Jan 2nd so I guess it’s ok. And it was fish which I rarely eat. I was out with friends and it’s hard not to eat what they’re eating.

If I come back from this trip no heavier than when I went I’ll be happy. I was only a pound and a half away from something stone and 7lbs.

Redpony1 · 11/01/2018 14:03

Just a mega quick update, been poorly so not been able to run and may have eaten a little more than i should have but still a 2lb loss Smile

Well done everyone so far!

RenaissanceBunny · 11/01/2018 19:12

Good job Redpony when you're ill I figure not putting on weight is a win because I always want stuff like macaroni cheese and other such comforting fatty carbiness. The weather on Saturday looks fairly decent (i.e. not raining) so maybe a run then ?

WeirdCatLady · 12/01/2018 18:15

I’ve been good and stuck to ww this week, tried a few new recipes too (most of which worked okay). Having a couple of glasses of wine tonight and heading out for lunch tomorrow, but I will still point everything.

Hope everyone else is plodding on nicely too x

wizzler · 12/01/2018 21:38

Renaissance well done for keeping on track despite eating sticky toffee pudding.
DD has been ill all week with miserable earache so my sleep patterns are shot. I have resisted the comfort eating and snacked on fruit instead
Have come to bed with dd to catch up on sleep, and because up here I can't hear the chocolate orange calling to me from the kitchen cupboard!

RenaissanceBunny · 12/01/2018 22:29

Well done trying something new WeirdCatLady - sometimes I think I eat rubbish because none of the usual meals appeal.

Good resistance there Wizzler but if that chocolate orange calls too loudly get a segment and hide the rest at the back of the most over stuffed/inaccessible cupboard you have.

I did pretty well on the trip away I resisted all snacks and am rather pleased to say I’ve lost a stone since January 1st. For me I’d say it’s been the exercise- most days I get my 10,000 steps and do 40 mins plus of dancing. I’m lucky to have the time to do it.

wizzler · 13/01/2018 07:43

Renaissance that is an awesome weight loss in only 2 weeks. You must really feel the difference in the fit of your clothes.
Thanks for the suggestion re the chocolate orange but I have a disorder which means I am unable to open one and not polish off the lot!

WeirdCatLady · 13/01/2018 11:27

Wow Renaissance, that’s really impressive! I need to move more but I’m so big and so arthritic I worry it’ll do more harm than good at the mo. Planning to lose a bit more weight first. Well done you!

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 14/01/2018 14:52

Great loss Renaissance!** Super impressive.

Wizzler I have the same problem! I do find using MFP helps - I make sure I log them one at a time to see the impact it has on my leftover calories (of which there are not often many as I'm on 1200 atm) which often helps me decide it's not worth it.

Weird sorry to ear about your arthritis, that must be tough. Could you try short walks or something easy on our joints like gentle swimming or even aqua aerobics?

I've had a pretty good week, down 4.5lbs since I started dieting on the 3rd. Off out for a run in about half an hour. I've also made soup for my lunches for the week and done all my meal planning and shopping. Feeling pretty positive overall!

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 14/01/2018 14:53

Oops bold fail! ConfusedBlush

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 14/01/2018 15:18

Down 1 kg this week. That's 2.2lbs so I'm happy with that. Not sure how much off since I started since I switched to different scales in kg and they show you heavier than the old lbs ones. Might weigh on old scales tmrw to find out. Just had 2 egg mushroom and ham omelette and salad for lunch and had a short go on the bike earlier.
