I stared my diet Boxing Day and I’ve lost so much weight already!! I’m so happy with myself, I have to admit a lot of it has helped with this program I’m using but I still feel great! And it’s nice to see so many other people with the same hopes and dream Smile

frankiehat · 03/01/2018 13:27

Drive the pre school run this morning as it was so windy so now down on steps...
Ate a tiny kitkat bite at playgroup and just had 3 scrambled eggs. 3x coffees.

Going to try and go for a run tonight - was down to 9.11 this morning. Does anyone else weigh daily? I don't want to be obsessive but seeing even half a pound loss keeps me motivated.

Justabadwife · 03/01/2018 13:38

Can I join?
I haven't weighed myself but think I'm in the 15st region. 😭 I'm the top end of a size 16.
I have a wedding to go to in May and I'm going on holiday in June. So if I can be a comfortable size 12 or 14 by then I will be over the moon.
I'm cutting down on snacks and fizzy drinks and walking alteast 10000 steps everyday.

JustTheTip · 03/01/2018 13:47

I’m 15 stone and a 14. I’ve honestly never been this fat in my life I feel disgusting.
Have been very good this week and am actually looking forward to weighing myself on Friday!

Mrsknackered · 03/01/2018 14:26

Thought about dieting for aaaages, but the kick up the arse was today. I bought a pair of jeans in the Asos, 32 inch waist and they don't even go half way up my thigh. I'm 13 stone, 5ft 4 and think this puts my BMI around 32, which is obviously obese.
The weight gain has been fairly recent (in the last year) after I had DS2, I substitute shit sleep with cake, chocolate, bread, etc.
I have issues with body dismorphia, I can honestly trick myself into thinking I'm very slim. But, I know I'm not. I'm only in my 20s and I know it's affecting my health. I walk around 7,000 steps a day, looking to up this to 10 and need to stop snacking.
Very difficult when I have a partner who struggles with his weight in the opposite way, and due to health reasons has to eat a lot regularly.
Planning to lose 40lb. By June I'd like to have lost 20 :)

HippieGoth91 · 03/01/2018 15:50

3rd for me. Family meals had already been planned for 1/2

WeirdCatLady · 03/01/2018 16:45

Home made turkey burger and Home made coleslaw for dinner here. I enjoy cooking so I’m trying to make the dieting more enjoyable by trying new recipes. Going to make my own stir fry tomorrow and curry on Friday.

Resisting the temptation to weigh myself daily. My first weigh in will be next Tuesday morning and it’s my birthday Monday 😱. I’m doing weightwatchers so I have pointed my birthday planned treats but I suspect they’ll bollock up any weight loss this week 😭 But I’m still going to have them as it’s my birthday 🎂🥂

fishonabicycle · 03/01/2018 17:28

Not much to lose - just a couple of kilos.
B slice of ham, 100grams of Greek yoghurt, 150 grams of raspberries, 30g dried mango
L chicken thigh with 30g rice, spinach, carrot
D chilli with guacamole. Some broccoli too.

Just going to cut out the snacks and sweet stuff for a bit. I walk a fair amount and do go to gym 3 times a week, yoga once a week.

wizzler · 03/01/2018 19:34

Frankie.. I thew my scales out and am now getting weighed at the chemist once a week. I used to weigh myself daily, and while it cheered me up when I lost, inevitably there are days when I gained weight and I found that incredibly demotivating.( and would turn to chocolate)

fadingblonde1 · 03/01/2018 20:05

Day 3 almost done, in a way it's the hardest day for me. So far I've eaten less than a thousand calories but I'll have something before bed. Fortunately all the wine and chocolates have gone - I did find one stray quality street today which I've eaten and accounted for!

Thisnamechanger · 03/01/2018 20:46

Just purged cupboard of all almost finished crisp and chocolate and biscuit packets from Xmas. There's one beautiful iced Christmas Cake that DPs mum made though which has to stay. Had a little bit of yoghurt with honey tonight as a treat...that's not too bad is it?

AppyForts · 03/01/2018 20:46

Hello all.

Didn’t manage any exercise today, which I need to sort out big time. I’m so stiff and unfit. Keep setting my alarm early to do an exercise DVD and then snoozing it Sad.

Ate healthily today, although I’m not calorie counting or anything as hate getting obsessive about food.

Greek yoghurt with fruut & nuts for breakfast
Big roasted veg omelette & spinach/cucumber salad for lunch.
Lentil & sweet potato ‘shepherds pie’ with broccoli & cauliflower for dinner.
I’m greedy though, so portion sizes at dinner are probably an issue....

Keep checking in, peeps!

RenaissanceBunny · 03/01/2018 22:19

I'm doing well atm - hitched a int somewhere this morning and walked back to the house which was great - I got my 10,000 steps but when you go out for a walk it feels like so much more of a waste of time (not that it is) than walking to work or something. I've recently moved and where I used to live I could rack up 10,000 steps without thinking about it but here it is a real challenge. I did my Just Dance again today but not as much as yesterday (someone else came in the living room). Tomorrow I'm borrowing a friend with a dog and we're going to do a fairly long walk which out to be good. I was ok with food today:

B porridge
L mushroom+veg soup and crisp bread
M Cauliflower, bacon and peas in cheesy sauce (I wasn't in charge of that one)

I might have a little oatcake or something before bed but snacks during the day are out and I find that if I'm busy with something I don't want them. According to my scales I'm losing weight although I think they may be over-estimate to give encouragement Grin.

Well done everyone on some very healthy eating! I do agree with Threehours and Redpony that treats need to go back to once a week not every day/ other day / any excuse.

Good luck for tomorrow - remember every calorie less is a win as is every extra bit of movement even is the scales disagree!

CrestedTit · 03/01/2018 22:27

Today's menu:

B - 1 slice toast & marg, 2 boiled eggs
L - prawn sandwich, veg crisps
T - tomato & spinach quiche, Greek salad

Today's tale of incredible virtue: went to the pub with DP and while he was drinking beer and eating chorizo flavour crisps I had a SLIMLINE TONIC. Halo

Tomorrow's challenge is to eat less 🍞

Threehoursfromhome · 04/01/2018 07:56

Yesterday went okay:

B - Scrambled eggs on wholemeal
L - Carrot and sweet potato soup, ryebread, cheese, apple
D - quorn escalope with oven roast courgette, aubergine and peppers
Snack - nuts

Had a square of colleague's chocolate, but won't fret too much about that. Weights today so will be eating more protein at lunch.

CryptoFascist · 04/01/2018 08:01

Mind a late starter? My size 14 skirt wouldn’t go over my thighs this morning, having to resort to elasticated everything. Haven’t worn trousers in months as they won’t zip up. I need a swift boot up the (substantial) backside!
Got some meal replacement shakes for lunches at work and a bunch of soups for evening dinner - these are the large pots of soup from the chiller section so should fill me up.
Hope to do this for a few weeks to give myself a reset from all the fattening foods I’ve been allowing myself.

frankiehat · 04/01/2018 10:29

Crypto I love those pots of soups from the chilled section - a really filling low cal meal if you have the whole pot on its own

wizzler · 04/01/2018 12:12

Am feeling very proud.

Tradition in our house is to go to DMs for sunday lunch, and I have texted her to ask for a fruit salad instead of a normal dessert which would be apple pie with huge spoonfuls of fresh double cream.

Also, its DDs birthday today.. we have 2 consecutive sleepovers planned... one KFC and one McDonalds... . I am making my own vegetable curry to eat instead.

I really need a positive start to keep me motivated.

The birthday means a 4 day weekend for me which is tricky. Am much more disciplined when I am in the normal school / work routine.

thenightsky · 04/01/2018 12:15

I bought a new top in the Phase Eight sale yesterday. Its a tad too tight across boobs and hips. I'm planning to try it on once a week to gauge weight loss. I feel this may be better for me than getting hung up on figures on scales, which can vary from day to day.

Redpony1 · 04/01/2018 14:14

Doing good so far, but no running last night as i have a stinking cold come on yesterday afternoon!!

Boiled eggs. carrots and sugar free jelly as snacks Smile

fadingblonde1 · 04/01/2018 15:37

Doing ok so far. I haven't fit in any exercise yet but I've cut out the junk food and the wine. I got weighed today, and have lost a tiny amount - less than a pound - but it's going in the right direction.

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 04/01/2018 17:00

Have lost a few pounds since Monday. All fluid of course but still gratifying. Had SW omelette wrap for lunch and doing BBC good food chicken satay salad for supper. Few dry crackers for a snack.

squidkid · 04/01/2018 17:48

Hi, can I join?
I had a crazy busy 2017 with not as much time for diet/exercise as I'd like. Aiming to correct that from now! I don't weigh myself as previously I'd get really stressed about the numbers, I just go on how my clothes fit.
I'm a sorta size 10-12 currently and 8-10 is my happy place (I'm shortish). I'd like to emerge in the spring a bit slimmer, is all, nothing too drastic.

I've done 3 days very little eating (about 1000 calories I think) and my 10 min pilates DVD each day, but I think I'll increase calories a bit from tomorrow. Historically I maintain weight loss really well, but I do lose slowly. I lost 3 stone back in the day and maintained for years, but with kids and all a bit has crept back on. They're 5 and 3 now so I can't excuse baby weight any more!

I don't have a sweet tooth, wine and cheese is my vice Grin

This is my general plan: 1200 calories some days, 1500 others. No cheese except in recipes (ie no nibbling at it!) No wine on weekdays for now (this won't last, but maybe for a couple of weeks). I'm going to be strict for 2 weeks then relax a bit but maintain good habits. A walk or some general exercise each day. 10 min pilates per day to sort that tummy out. Today I had one piece of toast & egg for breakfast, 2 rice cakes for lunch, and gonna have veggie pasta shortly. I'm a bit hungry.

squidkid · 04/01/2018 17:50

Oh and I threw all the Christmas food out on Monday, or donated it to my boyfriend's work. That was quite satisfying actually.

CaptainHarville · 04/01/2018 18:53

Day 4 with no cola and I so want some, knew I was addicted but didn't realise how much.

Diet a bit hit and miss. Need to eat healthy and keep portions under control. Trying to low carb but need to meal plan to do it. Also need to exercise! But so wet and cold even my dogs don't want out.
