It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Almost time for a new thread, shame as we could have pretended it was this Christmas we were aiming for Grin

SolitudeSometimesIs · 25/09/2018 20:20

Hi, sorry for disappearing, I was so sick and then DH caught it and the kids got it, we were all knocked sideways. Hopefully we are in the road to recovery as I've had my quota of illness for quite a while.

Rachey you look fab, your hair is so long! It looks really thick, you know the way some extensions can be flat and wispy, yours look great. I can't believe your wedding is in 3 weeks, yiu must be so excited.

How is your rrunning going Pom? Are you still managing to get out of is the weather rubbish? It's really stormy here, The wind is very intense.

Green how are you getting on?

Emma 4 stone is aamazing, feel free to share anyany tips you have, I really need some.

Have we any idea.for the new thread title? How many posts are we at?

I’ll never be thin Pom it doesn’t matter which Christmas we are talking about Grin

I hope everyone feels better soon Sol.

So exciting Rachey. I’m sure everyone will have a great day. You’ve got everything planned and you’ll be a wonderful host.

Hopefully everything will be easier for you when nursery is established Emma. Make the most of your free time.

Last week was a disaster for me. Stressful things kept happening.
Got my tooth sorted yesterday Rachey Just needed a normal filling and the check up was fine.
Trying to motivate myself to get a good chunk of weight off before Christmas. I’m still finding evenings hard. Really trying to sort the house out but I’m not preparing meals because of it. I’ve just solved my own problem by writing it down!

Greenrabbit · 25/09/2018 22:26

I’ve been clearing out some drawers. I found a diary from 2014. The plan was to get thin. I think that’s the year I joined this thread 😂

SolitudeSometimesIs · 26/09/2018 11:53

Green I am exactly the same. I used to put my start weight at the beginning of year diaries and a little countdown of lbs I wanted to lose at the back. My one from 2005 has me saying I need to lose 7.5lbs so I can get back to 9 stone! I could never even imagine trying to get to 9 stone now.

How is your house clearing going? Mine isn't going great to be honest, I am so tired and all the cleaning is endless. Have you got a slow cooker or anything? That could be quite helpful for getting meals made.

I'm desperately trying to stick to 1400 cals per day. I'll weigh myself on 1st Oct and then I can see how well I did in September. It's 3 months til Christmas so I think if I lose 1lb per week it would be really good progress.

Hi Sol sorry to hear about the illness, hopefully all gone now. We've once a 100 posts left but I think we'll need a new one before Christmas. Sorry I'm not posting much as still logged out on my phone. 1lb a week sounds a great target. It's a very long time since I have seen 9 stone...

Glad your tooth is sorted green Shall we get thin in 2019? Grin Hope you have had a better week?

Wedding excitement rachey so soon now !

How are you Emma ?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 30/09/2018 09:04

Thanks Pom, I'm feeling a good bit better now. I was out last night though so feeling in the mood for carbs right now. It felt good to dress up and go out but I got myself all annoyed before I went out trying to decide what to wear. Why is it that I hate every item of clothing I own 10 mins before I go anywhere.

Has anyone any opinions on boots that come up over the knee? I tried a pair of yesterday that were lovely but they came to the top of my kneecap so not quite high enough. I was thinking of wearing them with jeans as opposed to skirts, I'm just not sure if I'm too old and not cool enough.

Yes Pom. Thin by next Christmas!
I didnt get back on any sort of track with food this week. I’ve just signed up with WW online. I need something to focus on. It’s 12 weeks until Christmas, I really need to make a big effort for the rest of this year.

Glad you’re feeling better Sol. No idea about those type of boots, I’ve not noticed anyone wearing them.
Still trying to clear the house. It’s slow progress.
Yes I have a slow cooker. I’m going to start making more soups.

Racheyg · 01/10/2018 09:26

Morning everyone,

I'll join thin by Xmas 2019 Grin

sol is everyone feeling better in your house? glad you had a good night out, what outfit did you go for in the end? I think it's how you style the boots. If worn with jeans and layers the boots could look nice. I have a pair of knee highs which sit in a box, I brought the wrong style they make me look frumpy.

Good luck for weigh day today. I haven't weighed myself properly for a while but my clothes are getting tight so I know I need to "sort it out"

green have you started ww yet? They are really going for it with the promo stuff, looks great though. The plan really suits my sister and she manages to really do well with it.

I've started to clear some stuff out, some nice clothes that I might try and eBay. It's just finding the time Grin also need to get rid of baby toys, which I'm struggling to do as I'm secretly
hoping for a third (but oh dead against the idea)
Glad tooth is all fixed

pom it's been a while since I was 9st too Grin well I was 9st 6 earlier this year if that counts Grin it's crazy how weight is so up and down.

Are you still getting your run in 3 times a week?

emma 4st is amazing I did the same while on Mat leave and although haven't put it all back on I'm around 10 1/2 st at the moment so I lose and put on a stone easily

Wedding is in 12 days. Picked dress up looks amazing (if I may say so) and feels so comfy. I hope I don't ruin it and I can give/sell to another bride.

My clothes are greeting tight so I may just try and be careful these next few days. I'm heading to M&S to pick up fruit and soup going to try and stick to 1000 cals Smile

Pomegranatepompom · 01/10/2018 21:22

I like over the knee boots Sol but I'm not sure about cost per wear. ie I imagine nice with maybe slouchy dress/jumper buy not sure how how else they could work. If not too expensive, get them ! Glad you are feeling better.
Good luck with ww Green I'm toying with the idea of a slow cooker too.
12 days rachey so exciting ! Dress is amazing Smile
Enjoy this time.

Hope all well Emma

I STS this week but to be honest have had lots of social stuff and just haven't been motivated. I am still running 3x a week though. 12 weeks until Christmas... hmm I''m hoping to lose a stone Grin

Racheyg · 02/10/2018 08:11

pom I agree about cost per wear. Mine were a little over £200 and I think I've worn them about 5 times in 3 years. - they just don't suit me. Sad

Have you done ww before? I would like to think it works for me but there is too much flexibility and I go a little crazy. Grin are you finding it easier running now the temp has dropped?

Please share slow cooker recipes Grin

I'm really put weight on, my trousers are really tight and are hurting me Blush I think after the wedding I might try and do the body coach again. I know it works just till Xmas.

Greenrabbit · 02/10/2018 09:53

Morning.

I managed day 1 of WW. I’m disappointed that I didn’t wake up skinny though!

I don’t really have many specific slow cooker recipes. I just tend to throw stuff in. I’ll have a look to see what I’ve done before.

I think it’s really difficult with social events Pom.
I think I’m aiming for a stone before Christmas too.

Sorry about your trousers Rachey. Glad your dress is fabulous though.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 02/10/2018 10:59

Cost per wear is a good point, but they were cheap ones so even if I wore them 5 times I'd get my money's worth. I might wait to see if my legs trim down, otherwise I'll just look like I'm off fishing in waders. I had a weigh in today, I lost 9lbs in Sept. I'm pretty bloody happy with that so I'll continue on MFP for Oct and see how I get on.

Congrats on your first day of WW Green, what plan are you using? It's always so disappointing not to wake up instantly thinner, but this day next week you'll see a change.

STS is good Pom if you've had loads of stuff on. How are you finding running now it's getting colder? I think you'll easily do a stone by Christmas.

Rachey you must be so excited about your wedding. Definitely leave the dieting til after it is all done. Are you all ready for the big day?

Pomegranatepompom · 02/10/2018 11:37

Yay well done Sol and yes get the boots if they are not too costly. Perfect weather for them. Might as well get them now so you can wear them +++

Enjoy the lead up rachey ignore the trouser tightness imo. I'm not doing ww, I'm just vaguely fasting and running Grin

Well done on day 1 green devastating not to be thin already I agree.

I don't seem to be making much progress with my running, I'm such a plodder (a quite elderly man overtook me the other day..) I will persevere. In fact off for a run in a mo.

Greenrabbit · 02/10/2018 18:11

That’s amazing Sol. Treat yourself to the boots, they’ll just play on your mind if you don’t!

I’m doing the lastest WW plan -Flex. Tried it earlier in the year but didn’t really get into it properly. I’m sure if I commit properly it will work.
I’m mainly trying to break some bad habits and start feeling better to start with.

At least you are consistent with the running Pom. Do you like it?

Racheyg · 03/10/2018 08:43

Morning all,

Had some really bad news yesterday, which has put life into perspective. I feel ashamed to worry about my looks and appearance - the little things, where there are others who are really struggling.

Racheyg · 03/10/2018 08:44

Hope everyone has a great day. Let's be kind to ourselves Flowers

Greenrabbit · 03/10/2018 13:15

So sorry to hear that Rachey. You take care too x

Pomegranatepompom · 03/10/2018 21:00

Sorry you had bad news rachey I hope you are ok. take care xx

SolitudeSometimesIs · 03/10/2018 23:28

I hope you're OK Rachey, take care of yourself.

How's everything?

I weighed myself and haven't lost my holiday weight Blush

Just ordered some quickly impractical sandals (looked at them full price, now they are in the sale, so it was meant to be).

Going for a run later.

Sol did you get the boots?
green how goes ww?
rachey hope you are ok.
Emma Hope you week is going well.

I am dismayed to see Christmas food in the shops due to my love of it. Must avoid until December.

Pomegranatepompom · 05/10/2018 09:52

quite not quickly, I doubt I could be quick in these shoes !

Greenrabbit · 05/10/2018 11:37

I love looking at Christmas food Pom. I try not to buy any until a few days before or it just calls to me.

Which sandals did you buy?

WW is fine. The weekend is going to be the real test.

Hope everyone is okay.

Pomegranatepompom · 05/10/2018 14:10

Good luck with ww over the weekend Green

Sorry I didn't answer your question, I force myself to go out for a run. But I feel so much more positive afterwards, if that makes sense.

Will try and link sandals.
