It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Second fast day done. Although I think I came in closer to 600 calories. When do I weigh myself on this diet? My first fast day was Tuesday so do I weigh myself again on Tuesday morning? I know that’s probably a stupid question 🙈

I’m very jealous of all your socializing. I have nothing planned between now and Christmas except a trip to see Santa. With the kids obviously, I’m not a total weirdo 😂

I've no social events either. Santa is as exciting as it gets here too.

I ate less cheese today. I still feel,like I need to do something extreme.

H & M have some nice coats, I do just want a casual type. I might try the shops next week. I don't think I can face all the online ordering and returning.

I’d definitely go real life shopping for a coat Green. I like to make sure they’ll fit over a hoodie or whatever I would normally be wearing. I take no notice of coat sizes because I tend to go a size up so it’s not bet on to me and I need to be comfy. And I tend to wear them every day so I get my money’s worth.

Do you want to try 5:2 with me? We can support each other in our hour of starvation. I’m less bloated today and didn’t eat as much today as I would normally pick at on a Friday. I have had wine though.

Sol do you want a laura Mercier primer, it's a hydrating one and I prefer matte (I've used some). Also, does anyone use elasticer? I've got an unused tube of that too.

Green I was going to suggest exercise bike at the gym. That and walking on the treadmill.

rachey one of the event is drinks and I think I'll weer black trousers sparkly shoes, not sure re top. I have a dress I got from Coast last year that I can wear to my work party .

I haven't been to the shops yet. I did order a coat online from M&S Blush, it's easy to return there so I don't mind as much! I do need something to stick on over a hoodie. It's been so mild this year that I've forgot about what cold feels like. But the last few days have been freezing Shock. I've found my winter boots out too. I suppose that's it for the next few months, is it cold in Ireland?
I know it's a massive joke that Geordies don't wear coats, but I must be soft. I always have a coat, even if it's just for in the car!

Glad the parcel reached you Pom. You have to answer lots of questions to post perfume Grin. Hopefully you'll discover something new. I use Elasticizer ( because I have I mountain of it), it's pretty good. I've started putting it on the DC hair too, partly to use it up and partly stop their hair getting spoilt by swimming.

Good gym suggestions. I suppose the first step is actually going. SIL says she will go with me one morning. I think she mainly swims. I more scared of going then the actual exercise now I think about it.

Diet has been terrible but I feel very happy.

I have literally no idea what a primer or elasticiser is? Is it for your face? I’m so crap at make up. I’m going to buy some of that new Maybelline foundation for dark circles, I desperately need it.

No need to panic on posting things Pom. I know you’re busy. And sorry for not chasing MNHQ for the title change, it completely slipped my mind.

It’s freezing here Green. It was 3 degrees this morning but with the windchill it was -1. We live at the foot of the mountains so the wind is unreal. We have the fire lit now and the kids have 2 duvets and big fleece blankets on their beds. We have central heating, just in case you think we live in a shed 😂, but it gets so cold once the sun goes in.

My fast days are Tuesday and Thursday, so I have a massive pot of soup ready to go for tomorrow. It comes to 250 calories so I can have one slice of skinny bread 59 cals and a cup of hot chocolate 99 cals and a bag of Snax crisps which will take me to 509 cals. I’d love a fasting buddy.

Morning all,

Back to work after a week off. Have had a few shitty emails as they got my dates mixed up. I'm fed up with this place. Sad my eating has been awful. But I'm defo going to try and get back to 10st for xmas. Currently at 10st 7lbs

green I'm glad your feeling happy. It's great the sil can go to the gym with you. Well done resisting the calendar. Do you still have the benefit mascara i totally forgot to se d you my address.

sol Tuesday and Thursdays sound like great fast days. Your meal plan looks good, esp as your still managing a "treat" I use that word lightly as I'm sure hot chocolate isn't really a "treat"

pom what is elasticer? I'm also pretty rubbish at this stuff as I only use what I know. What days are you fasting?

It's not that cold in London Im still wearing my Barbour wax raincoat inside of a really thick coat but I think it's quite deceiving as it's well insulated.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having a hard time Rachey. It must be so hard to motivate yourself to go back to work when you know there will be an atmosphere. Feel free to vent here if you want.

I’m on my fast day, ironic that it’s called that when it goes so slowly. I’m not feeling it at all today as I had a weigh in this morning and only lost 1lb. I don’t know why I’m disappointed but I am but I don’t want to sabotage myself.

Nxt week I'm going to join you in 5:2 before xmas. My days are going to be Monday and Wednesday as I go to the gym the rest of the days and o can't fast while exercising.

I need all the motivation as I'm feeling very bloated and hungry all the time at the moment.

Greek yogurt with blue berries and linseed

Pink lady

Falafel with hummus and salad

Carrot sticks

Tofu stir fry

And maybe a cup a soup if I'm really hungry.

Primer - use after moisturiser and before foundation for a smooth complexion.
Elasticer - I think it's best for coarse/curly hair, a bit like a conditioner (you leave in I think).

Aiming for post office on Friday.

Hi. Diet was a bit all over the place this week. I caught a stinker of a cold that has meant I’m asleep by 8.30 most nights, I’m just feeling rubbish. I haven’t had a fast day as I think I would keel over if I did, but I’ve eaten way less food so it might just balance out. I have my TOTM so I’m going to avoid the scales until next week.

Rachey sometimes I have a quorn fillet with all the potatoes and veg that go with a roast. Or I make a tartlet or a few stuffed aubergines, or my fave is puff pastry with veg, some goats cheese and balsamic vinegar. Not terribly healthy though.

Did you buy the M&S calendar Pom? I found an M&S gift card and I’m thinking of getting one for myself as a non-food based treat.

Hope you re feeling better Sol ? Yes I purchased the calendar, I'd go for it, I think it' really good value for money and last year I liked most of the items. I went to the post office on Saturday so I hope you get your parcel soon Smile

Rachey 800 cals sis good, sometimes I do 3x 800 cals days as I really struggle with 500.

How are you green ? Did I say I really like the benefit primer? I am wondering if its better than dermalogica, which was my previous favourite but is ££.

I am trying to do a pre Christmas declutter. I think I want to go all out on decorations this year !

Hi. Dieting not really going to plan here. The kids have a dreadful cough and cold and are feeling dreadful. So my days have been filled with running around keeping them happy and comfortable and trying to keep on top of work. DH is away on business so I feel like a Tazmanian Devil racing around. I did a big M&S shop for chuck in the oven dinners and salads but I’m too afraid to weigh myself. Four of my team in work have succumbed to the Winter vomiting bug so I’m hoping I avoid catching that, although it could speed up my weight loss 😁

Thanks for he Parcel Pom. It hasn’t come yet but the post here is unbelievably slow, I’ll let you know when it does.

I find it very hard to fast in cold weather too Rachey. But I make big pots of veggie soup I can have it all day and it fills me up.

I’ve bought some Christmas presents this weekend. I’ve tried to be restrained and not buy myself any!

Glad you like the primer Pom. There might be some offers on it before Christmas? I seen that House of Fraser have 20% off today.
What are your decoration plans?

We are in the middle of building a massive Ikea tv cabinet/wall cabinet set up. DH has been at work a lot so it’s not happening quickly. There seem to be boxes everywhere. I’m trying to hurry him along so I can think about Christmas 🎄.

How are you feeling now Rachey? Maybe just concentrate on the gym if that’s what you enjoy most?

Dieting hasn’t been successful here. I think I’ll just try not to eat loads before Christmas, then concentrate properly in the new year.

Green it's going to be really hard to diet now. I can feel the mince pies calling. I am going to try and have my fast days and not indulge as much as usual. I'm going to see what I get in the beauty calendars before I buy anything else - apart from my Black Friday orders Blush What did you buy? I hope you get your wall unit up soon! I am going to tackle the playroom in a minute.

So I order a few things for Black Friday but I have decided next year I ma going to be less of a consumer and aim to be as environmentally friendly I can be - well within time restrains, work, children etc. Mainly less impulse buying, less waste and trying not to purchase things with lots of packaging.Trying to look after the things I have and use them well, it's an aim anyway.

I did get some UGG boots in the sale for my cold early morning commute. Also the Urban Decay Naked palette (justified as I have not bought eye make up for years!).
I managed to get DD a bobble hat in Joules which she loves.
I also got my Christmas meal outfit which I hope to use for years to come. Navy velvet trousers and navy sparkly shoes, I already have a top.
I know that looks a lot Blush but I ma hoping I'll get loads of use out of everything.

I lost 1.5 lbs this week. If I can manage to lose another 2.5 lbs, that will be 14lbs before Christmas. Leaving me with a 1-1.5 stones to lose after Christmas. Maybe 2018 will be our year? Grin
