Can I join please?! Signed up for WW online last week, and haven’t managed to stick to it. Just too greedy. I have a 8 month old who is still up in the night but i shouldn’t blame her as I’ve not been able to stick to a diet for years now. I’m 5ft 4 and 12st 13. 😭😭. Getting bigger and bigger over the last few years. Help!!

ponygirlcurtis · 08/10/2017 23:17

Welcome Missus. Sleep deprivation is just the worst, my weight rocketed with that too as you just feel the need to eat to stay awake, plus you feel so miserable you want a little treat here and there. Hope this thread can give you lots of support.

Right, have just signed up for the latest low carb Bootcamp thread in the hope that it gives me some focus. I am going to really go for it this week.

Missushb · 09/10/2017 00:59

Thanks, Ponygirlcurtis. That’s exactly it! Eating mindlessly to distract me from being tired. I need to find other distractions! I always feel better drinking lots of water, that’s one of my first aims. 7 pounds per month would be great. I’ve planned my meals for the week and have a supermarket delivery coming tomorrow.
I’m going to plan in something within my points to have with a cup of tea once the kids are in bed each night; rather than thinking/kidding myself I’ll have nothing then end up eating 3 bags of crisps! 😯

HappyGowerGirl · 09/10/2017 10:04

Oh my god I totally know the feeling of eating JUST to stay awake. I've done it for months...! Funnily though eating loads of cake doesn't actually keep me awake and sort of does the opposite... Makes me feel kind of lethargic.

Sometimes I still crave food when I'm tired but I try to have something savoury or fatty, still not the healthiest choice but at least I don't get stuck in the sugar cycle again.

Weighed myself this morning... am now 9.7 (60.5kg)... Am so so close to dropping below 60kg! After that point I'd be pretty happy to maintain, I don't need to loose much more than that.

Missushb · 09/10/2017 10:48

Thanks Happy; you know that’s a good idea; something other than sugar. It just doesn’t hit the spot and you’re still hungry and unsatisfied and of course, still tired!! I know what you mean, I feel much better when I’m not eating junk. My head definitely feels clearer!

QuimReaper · 09/10/2017 10:58

Welcome Missus to The Best Thread on Mumsnetâ„¢! I think planning in an evening snack is a great idea: personally I've found, as you say, it's a better idea to plan your meals and snacks than to try and stick to something unrealistic and then fail. I also find if there's something virtuous in front of me, it does sort out the hunger from the cravings. On Fast Days I always have a big carrot and kale smoothie, and lately I've been trying to make it as late in the day as I can, because if there's a huge smoothie sitting on the counter then I can't legitimately have whatever it is I'm fantasising about - it usually works! What ideas do you have for good evening snacks? You could sub your cup of tea for one of those Options Hot Chocolate sachets, they're only about 15 calories but they do hit the spot if you're craving something sweet.

Happy that's fantastic on your NSV, and indeed your scale victory! I've had a very indulgent four days, and have very indulgent plans for Wednesday too, so I need to keep my focus today and tomorrow. Two non-golden weeks in a row could be the top of a slippery slope...

BOOP your fabulous jetsetter lifestyle continues! I bought a humungous amount of cheese for a party and then didn't get round to serving it, so we have this utterly divine triple cream brie in the fridge. I think my resistance has been positively saintlike.

plumstone · 09/10/2017 11:10

Morning All, Have had a cheeky weigh in this morning and its a pound off. Officially weigh in is Wednesday but I like to damage assess on a Monday and react accordingly - Hoping for 11 dead on Wednesday morning!!!!! Have a good week everyone! xx

QuimReaper · 09/10/2017 14:02

Well done plum, that's a great post-weekend weight!

plumstone · 09/10/2017 14:13

Cheers Quim - I am finding that by switching my lunch time soup for dinner and whatever was planned for dinner to lunch is helping as that is the only change that I made over the last week, I go to bed not feeling hungry, which is always a good thing!!!

NikiBabe · 09/10/2017 14:55

Just dipping in and out of thread lately, will takes to catch up. Blush

Not really gymming at the moment as still have a chesty cough. A STS so far this month.

Sweaty Betty posted this on facebook which I thought was funny.

Nice one Happy and plum!

Decided to get back on the health train this week. I'm bored, hungry and irritable Hmm Time to test my willpower...am just trying to keep in mind how much better I feel when I'm a bit lighter. I've got a crap back and crap knees, and being overweight does nothing useful for them.

Rich that is me every Monday, I always struggle much less later in the week once I've found the wagon!

Good stepping today, and good eating so far...

Therealjudgejudy · 09/10/2017 21:09

Hi guys, can I join? Need it for the accountability! I was always 8 1/2 stone until my doctor put me on ad Meds that made me put on 2 stone in 3 months Confused Not good. I've since had my meds changed and am losing that weight now. I generally have a good diet and I love the gym. I joined again 2 1/2 months ago and am making the effort to go 6 days a week. Would love the support from you ladies. You all seem ace Smile.

NikiBabe · 10/10/2017 00:38

Hello judgejudy and welcome Smile

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 10/10/2017 07:26

Morning all!

Welcome judgejudy and missus!

I had a fairly golden day yesterday. 1100 calories and lots of steps. Aiming for a fast day today but I already feel like cracking, so wish me luck!

HairsprayBabe · 10/10/2017 08:07

10.6 Need. To. Focus.
Fast day today and tomorrow.

I need to get a better plan for weekends, just "going with the flow" is not working and I think if I have three golden weeks and good weekends in a row I might break the back of this - if not I will be doing the egg diet again...

I ate waaay too much on Saturday - mainly cheese and Asti
Sunday I was goodish but had a few biccies after dinner.
Yesterday I was supposed to being golden but went out for lunch and then had dinner too late and snuck in a biccy when I really shouldn't have!

My climbing center are offering a commando style circuit training bootcamp soon has anyone done anything like this? Might give me the kick I need!

Hello all. Sorry I’ve been absent. Stay in France has been prolonged thanks to Ryanair. Just about subsisting on cheese and wine.

Nicki hope that you are feeling better.

Welcome newbies - realised I haven't posted for a while but have been following :)

I am still juggling the same 3lbs!! today 11st 1- grrr, its food intake I know it is.

Quim I always get worse towards the weekend - usually on a Thursday.

I need to run more often as have a 5k in November - this is a big step for me!

Hairspray - your food always seems so good. Maybe you need to exercise - how many step a day do you do? It doesn't seem that you can eat any less.

BOOP enjoy the sunshine and cheese and obligatory wine. I have just put my coat on at work - I am freezing.

HairsprayBabe · 10/10/2017 11:14

7-8k steps a day usually but that is just my commute and a quick walk at lunch time.

I agree I basically eat nothing, my metabolism is painfully slow...

I need to boost my metabolism so I really do need to do more exercise. I really hate it so it is easy for me to just bin it off!

QuimReaper · 10/10/2017 11:42

Where on earth's TV got to?

Welcome Judy, and well done Tatters, sounds like really great progress! You must be so excited about the big day! Be kind to yourself though, you're anything like me you'll start eating the day after the wedding (too excited on the day itself) and not stop for a month Wink

ARichVernacular · 10/10/2017 12:09

I was meant to go to gym last night Hairspray but ended up having a couple of beers with DH instead, so I feel you on the sacking off front.

Tuesday is my official weigh in day, and this morning I was another lb down, so 10st 9 :) I don't feel like I deserve it though!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 10/10/2017 15:30

Hairspray the bootcamp thing sounds good! I definitely think upping your exercise would help with the weight loss, especially the last few difficult lbs.

That's annoying BOOP, hope it hasn't been too much of a disaster. At least there are worse places to be stranded!

My fast day has gone sour, someone shoved a tin of celebrations under my nose...

Therealjudgejudy · 10/10/2017 15:38

Thank you for the kind welcome Smile. So did my usual gym workout this morning. Struggle to motivate as usual but always feel great after....especially mentally.

I never eat breakfast so just drank a pint of my lemon/mint/cucumber detox water (yes I'm weird!). Lunch was tesco spiralised vegtable salad bowl which is so good and only 131 calories, and 3 cracker bread with a laughing cow cheese triangle.

Cauliflower cheese for dinner and a mini crunchie with a cup of tea as a snack before bed. Think I'm slightly addicted to crunchies tbh Grin.

Hope you are all having a good day.
