Hi can I join please! After the birth of my youngest son (now nearly 5) I lost 3 stone and managed to keep it all of until last year, some crap happened in life and shamefully I've put about 1.5st back on. I feel disgusted with myself and I need to get it back off and another 7lb on top. 7lb off by Halloween would be the boost I need to get it all off Smile

ponygirlcurtis · 01/10/2017 11:25

Time for bed rest, Niki. Hop you feel better soon.

Hello to all the newcomers!

I am making pancakes for the kids but will do bacon and eggs for myself. Then roast dinner at my mum's with loads of veg (and leftovers for tomorrow).

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 01/10/2017 16:31

Welcome newbies!

Hope you feel better soon Niki!

I had some success in September with being really strict and keeping to 1200 every weekday, with a couple of days on slightly less (800 ish) so I could have more at the weekend, so that's what I'm going to do this month. I have reprogrammed my MFP and everything! I have 6lbs to lose, and I really want to get there by the middle of November. So 6 weeks to lose 6 pounds, which sounds doable!

NikiBabe · 01/10/2017 17:56

Aw thanks all Flowers

I feel terrible still.

TheDonald · 01/10/2017 22:15

How's everyone got on today?

I've done OK. No snacking, but leftover Chinese chicken for lunch and lamb with roasties for tea might not have been the best. Smaller portions and fewer carbs than normal though.

Also I now have 14 individual portions of soup in the freezer.

Carrot, sweet potato and coriander
Curried parsnip
Italian bean and pasta

I think I'll have the parsnip tomorrow.

NikiBabe · 01/10/2017 22:26

Ive done terribly as im ill. Eaten a load of ice cream to soothe my throat and ate a load of m&ms too.

TheDonald · 01/10/2017 22:32
Sad

Hope you feel better soon Niki

I wish I had a bigger freezer, I'd love to batch cook but can't squeeze anymore in there!

Day 1 was good for me, stuck to my shakes and had cottage pie for dinner.. could have be healthier but I still avoided Yorkshire puddings and extra gravy and instead had another portion on veg.

I'm also feeling chuffed as dh rudely kept offering me choc biscuits and I said no till I copped and tell him he was being a plank. Don't think he will try and offer me junk again for a while 😂

HappyGowerGirl · 02/10/2017 07:33

Yay new thread! Thanks for that!

Oh no Niki sorry to hear you are feeling rough and that you have fallen victim to some rouge M&Ms! I know what that's like😳

I'm 9.8 this morning. I've been really struggling over the weekend. My main problems have been 1) My 2 youngest children are ill and haven't slept... And sleep deprivation is a diet's worst enemy... and 2) WINE! Wine is my other bigggest enemy. I can be great all day, but if I have a glass or two after dinner I just think "fuck it!" and out come the crisps, etc.

Really need to get back into it this week, was feeling so much better without the wine and the junk food and was really enjoying seeing some good results in September!

Anyway, hope you all have a good week!

Ps Niki I'm not originally from the shower but I did live there (and loved it!) for a few years!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/10/2017 07:41

Morning! Hope you feel a bit better today Niki

I actually managed to have a sensible weekend and finished it lighter than I started. It’s a miracle. Haven’t done that for months. Now I just have to have a decent week. Niece coming to stay for a few week though and I suspect that’ll mean the wine will be cracked a few times Confused

Have a great week Slenderistas

Oh well done BOOP, a loss after a weekend😮

Ps I obviously meant to say I lived in the Gower, not the shower...🤔

HairsprayBabe · 02/10/2017 08:23

Hello all,

Fell off a bit at the end of last month, finished on Saturday at 10.4 so -2lbs for last month.

However after a weekend at my mothers house I am now 10.7 so I would like to have at least 7 off to be 10 dead - more would be better.

Not a super busy month for me seeing a very old friend (as in I have known her since forever not she is elderly) on Friday and that is it for this weekend.

Next weekend we are going to a harvest and apple festival at some local historic gardens.

21st we have an engagement party of a family friend of DP.

28th we are having a halloween party.

So some stuff on but not days and days of gorging and quaffing, so I will hopefully be able to get at least a bit off....

FluffedIt · 02/10/2017 08:37

I have my 30th birthday on sun! Eeek!

Also have my ds and dh's birthday this month too so will have to be well behaved so I can enjoy them. It's such a killjoy being all 'no cake for me, no fun for me' though my plan is to forget diet on my birthday and be low enough to cover cake for their birthdays so it's not a complete blow out.

plumstone · 02/10/2017 11:11

I'm in!! After a shocking summer, I have managed to loose 9lbs since the 25th August, and am on track for another 7lbs for October. Am going sober October, so that should help. Also a massive work project which is causing me to plan food, and batch cook so I take lunch to work and have something ready to neuk in the microwave within three minutes of getting home. Currently 11.2lbs and the aim is 10.10 for the 31st!

Has anyone done Louise Parker Method, I was sceptical but signed up and lost the 9lbs using her plans and ethos, will continue with this as it works well. Also the gym visits are going well - 4 days on then a rest day, lets see if it continues.

Good luck everyone!!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/10/2017 11:26

Wow plum you sound very focused and yo're doing great! I'm off to google Louise Parker

Hey Bit, there are some aspects of that I was a bit Hmm but in actual fact I am converted, especially the sleep and digital detoxing!! The recipes are totally doable and some I am pretty convinced they will stay with me for ever!!!! My plans are always good and focused two days into the month - get back to me in three weeks and I may reassess Grin

Keeping it going is indeed the trick.

If digital detoxing is what I think it is, then I keep meaning to do that

plumstone · 02/10/2017 14:12

It is Bit!! I have started with no phone or i-pad from about 9pm and then in PJs by 9:30pm and bed by ten - I can be slightly evangelical about it but the difference is amazing!!!!!

plum dose that include the telly?

I am usually in bed by half 9 10ish anyway

plumstone · 02/10/2017 14:35

Hair it does for me but I am not big Live TV watcher - usually save it up through the week and watch everything at the weekend!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/10/2017 14:52

Hello and welcome Tatters

I’m too much of a night owl to be in bed by 10. I often don’t sit down till 9:30

I wrote a post this morning but Mumsnet crashed. You used my title, hurrah! Grin That's amazing to have a loss over the weekend, I'm most impressed!

Sorry to hear we have an outbreak of illness on the thread, hope you feel better soon paws and Niki

Welcome to all the newbies too, just catching up on everyone.

I quite relish my early nights when DH goes away but he fucks around on his computer in our room so I can't really get into bed before him.
