Small amount to lose but want support?

Just weighed in after a couple of short breaks. I was allowing myself to eat / drink what I wanted and knew it would result in a gain which is fine but just feel I need to get straight on to losing it.

I am 5ft 5, 43 years old and this morning weigh 10st 4.6lbs. I want to lost at least half a stone, ideally 9lbs.

I know there are obviously lots of other threads available but often people have longer term goals on them. I started a "less than a stone" thread before and it was quite busy so thought I'd give it a go again Smile

Bumble...the contraceptive pill would stop hormonal fluctuations. But brings with it it's own possible side effects.
I am perimenopausal and get serious munchies still once a month. I just now accept it, try to exercise my way through it and don't go near the scales fir a week.
Brilliant on cycling and running

@Bumblebzz - I wish I knew the secret! I get ravenous around my period - see my earlier post about pies 😂. I've just accepted it. It's once a month, I always gain 4lb. Lose two the day it goes and have to work to lose the other two. Can you tell how much I've monitored this? 🙈.

So I'm two days post period and currently back at 9st 1, having been 8st 13. I'm sure that come weigh Day on Sunday that I'll lose it as long as I'm super strict between now and then. But it basically means I lose weight 3 weeks of the month and gain it 1 week. Not so great.

Hi all, still hanging on to that last lb. It just won't fall off! I've signed up for a muddy 5k so need to try my running legs. Used to run 5 to 10k regularly but stopped after last 10k for cancer research that was boiling hot and torture. That was 5 years ago.I walk daily for 40 mins or more with the dog but hoping that a few runs will blast that last lb.

Hi all, has this thread dried up? I just wanted to say I finally reached the lower end of my target.
End of April- 10st 2 at 5ft 5
11/7/17- 9st 4 (still 5ft 5, damn!)
Thanks all for the support and providing me with an outlet for diet chat that has saved my DH from listening to me going on and on and on!
The best thing is that I feel great, clothes are much looser and I don't feel deprived at all(still no brekkie since whitsun week!) so however you are doing it, good luck and hang in there, it is so worth it!

Well done Giddy that's awesome!
Do you think IF/skipping breakfast made the difference?

I still have a way to go myself, this new job has ruined my exercise regime :(
However I am generally much more mindful about eating so hoping that long term I'll lose.
Maybe I need to join/start a thread entitled "a moderate amount to lose very slowly"!!

Giddyaunt18 · 13/07/2017 07:24

Hi Bumble I'm not sure, as I lost the first lot of weight on just no snacking at all, following a rough NO S diet but only healthy food. That definitely retrained me and made skipping breakfast easier . I've been on a few 5k runs in the last 2 weeks as I'm doing a pretty muddy in the autumn. I haven't run for 3 years and I managed it in 30 mins including hills which is what I was doing 10 years ago. My fitness is much improved by the daily 40 mins dog walks I think. Keep going Bumble this needs to be long term and I think the longer it takes the better in some ways as these habits will have become established and just part of life.

Well done giddy

I'm still here. School finished yesterday and I have 8 days to lose the last 4.5lbs before we go away on holiday. I have lost over 12 pounds since Easter Monday and I'm the lightest I've been since we left for our holiday almost a year ago.

I have five boxes of chocolates, two standard bars and a giant Galaxy bar the size of my arm in the house thanks to the generosity of families of children in my class but I have to ignore them all!
