Small amount to lose but want support?

Just weighed in after a couple of short breaks. I was allowing myself to eat / drink what I wanted and knew it would result in a gain which is fine but just feel I need to get straight on to losing it.

I am 5ft 5, 43 years old and this morning weigh 10st 4.6lbs. I want to lost at least half a stone, ideally 9lbs.

I know there are obviously lots of other threads available but often people have longer term goals on them. I started a "less than a stone" thread before and it was quite busy so thought I'd give it a go again Smile

strength it out...get online and spend the money on new bikini

theredjellybean · 20/06/2017 14:43

how much would you spend on 'treats' in tesco ? even if only a fiver....sales on ....

theredjellybean · 20/06/2017 14:44

i am blaming lovely warm weather, we are all probably third spacing fluids like mad ( this means fluid leaking out of our blood vessels into subcutaneous fleshy bits - basically puffy ankles etc)

PollyPelargonium52 · 20/06/2017 17:13

A friend I met this morning cheered me up a bit - he said in the summer we don't use as much body energy to keep warm. That is his theory why it is hard to shed weight in the heat.

PollyPelargonium52 · 20/06/2017 17:15

I can't even start the aqua just yet as I realised it is still the monthly curse at the minute hey ho.

Bumblebzz · 22/06/2017 07:26

How's everyone doing?
I've had family staying for a week so I've been finding hard to stay on track - too much eating and drinking. However I've been swimming loads and weighed myself this morning and I've maintained on 66kg which I'm happy with. Hoping to ramp up some weight loss now again... the heat isn't helping me as I tend to eat loads in the evening once it cools down!

Herbie58 · 22/06/2017 19:20

I caved and had a shit ton of chocolate 🙈😂. But hey today was a new day and I'm back on it. The scales on Sunday will reveal the truth.

On the plus side I get to put in a few gym sessions this week so hopefully that will help!

butlerchauffer · 23/06/2017 08:12

Hello everyone, back after hols and getting out of routine. Still trying to do No S as I'm a terrible grazer who likes a big meal too - ha! Weight creeping towards target - now 9 12.2 from 10 4.4 9 weeks ago and my aim is to have lost a half a stone by next Friday which is my 45th birthday! BBQs and vino fests are hard tho.... Good luck xx

Bumblebzz · 23/06/2017 12:06

Well done #butter!!

theredjellybean · 24/06/2017 06:37

Hello everyone

I hit 70 kgs on scales today...wearing all my summer clothes easily and off shopping with dd today...looking for a bikini.
I had a good week, basically low calories and exercise is doing it for me but biggest kick start had been stopping drinking...it's hard, I miss lovely cold white wine but is so worth it to be feeling so good about myself. Though no running this week...it was too hot for it.

Well done everyone.. Let's keep going

Giddyaunt18 · 24/06/2017 07:31

Lots of good news, well done everyone. i've maintained at 9st 6lb through my period(went up by 1lb on the day before but dropped again now) and I'm really pleased because my dog walks have been short due to the heat and I haven't been on the exercise bike. Now it's cooler, no excuses! The well fitting clothes is so much better than the scales.

OwlinaTree · 24/06/2017 09:41

herbie that sounds infuriating to gain when you are sticking to plan. Would you like to post what you are eating, maybe people can suggest some tweaks.

1000-1200 cals a day is very low too, maybe you need to up this a bit? How did you choose this figure? I'm 5.4 and 9.7 St. I don't calorie count particularly, but mfp + Fitbit usually works out as about 1700 cals a day to lose 1lb a week, which is about right for what I actually eat!

Giddyaunt18 · 24/06/2017 11:13

Owlina My TDEE at 5ft 5 and 9st 6 is 1704 at lightly active so that's to maintain my weight. To lose I need to eat aprox 500 cals less per day, so about 1200.

OwlinaTree · 24/06/2017 11:24

Do you do any exercise on top?

OwlinaTree · 24/06/2017 11:27

Try putting your info into this site, I think this is more accurate as it seems to fit in with my results on fit bit etc.

OwlinaTree · 24/06/2017 11:28

sorry this site

OwlinaTree · 24/06/2017 11:30

You will probably find it's recommending more calories. Worth a try? Less isn't working, why not try more?

Giddyaunt18 · 25/06/2017 08:28

9st 5 this morning so a late entry to weigh-in celebrations. 1lb off my ultimate goal. Grin

OwlinaTree · 25/06/2017 09:15

Nearly there, that's great!!

Herbie58 · 25/06/2017 10:53

Hey - so I hit 9st on the scales yesterday! Yay! I started weighing food portions last week and added in Gillian Michaels ripped in 30 workout (5 days in....) and those "gains" just came right off.

Now to see the 8 on the scales....💪🏻

Giddyaunt18 · 25/06/2017 20:50

Wow herbie how much have you lost?

Herbie58 · 26/06/2017 07:36

@Giddyaunt18

8st 13 this morning! 🎉💪🏻

I've lost 8lb in total. Started out at 9st 7lb on 23rd May. I'm 5ft 3 and a small frame.

However, this is a body that was 14st pre pregnancy (4.5 years ago) and I got down to 9st 3 after about a year post birth. But have kept going up and down from that ever since and never been able to get under 9st. I've never really sustained any diet or exercise program until now. Bottom line is I like Food and wine too much! 😂

Bumblebzz · 26/06/2017 07:53

Well done Herbie!
Please share more about how you did it!

Giddyaunt18 · 26/06/2017 13:21

Fabulous Herbie it must be great to see the 8!!! Star

theredjellybean · 26/06/2017 13:28

fantastic herbie....

I had a wonderful 10 k run on saturday in my PB time...and then enjoyed a day out shopping with my dd and just felt really good about myself , bought new swimsuit and bikini. and some running shorts....oooh....you know those lycra tight things that come to mid upper thigh..never dared it before , always in full length baggy legging.
So when i went running yesterday felt very excited and like i really was a runner...but noticed how my inner thighs wobble...they are quite heavy ( its the way i am built) but it kept me determined..i ran harder and faster seeing that wobble !!!

I weighed in at 69.9 today...wow under 70 kg...not seen that for 4 yrs
and that was only due to heartbreak causing me to stop eating :)

hope everyone else is enjoying new looser fitting clothes or new summer bikinis
