Thanks lovely slenderistas. Nice to be back Smile

However, yesterday's low carb day turned into a rose-and-chips kind of an evening as I went out for a post-work drinks thing, and got a bit excited when I realised, due to nature of my work life in past part decade or so, that this was my first straight-from-the-office drinks I've been on in 13 years Shock

Needless to say I have not behaved well today food-wise but tomorrow is another (golden) day!

HairsprayBabe · 04/04/2017 19:09

I shred, now I'm dead 😂

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/04/2017 19:09

On 1264. No exercise. No motivation either!

Softpebbles · 04/04/2017 19:47

Chicken katsu curry with sticky rice and baby corn.
Golden day prior to this with lots of carrots, apple, pear, soup for lunch. Hopefully I will get away with having a bit so good tea. Hmm

Softpebbles · 04/04/2017 19:47

*not so good a tea

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/04/2017 20:09

Small amount of dark chocolate with haggis spice out of curiosity.

QuimReaper · 04/04/2017 20:15

Chocolate and haggis?!!!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/04/2017 21:09

I quite like it! Think dark choc and pepper might catch on!

Thank you Quim that was very interesting and informative. I'm still not sure I could manage on 500 calories but it's worth a try. I might do a trial day next week and see how I do.

QuimReaper · 04/04/2017 23:06

Ha Cheddar that does look fancy, in your post I missed the word "spice" and thought you'd just been eating dark choc and haggis! Which would be... well, interesting.

poor quite a few people were experimenting on the last thread, I'd say to ease yourself in for a couple of weeks, try to keep your calories as low as possible on a fast day, plan for 500 or 750 or whatever you're aiming for but be armed with a few snack ideas to sustain yourself in case of murderous hunger, and don't beat yourself up while you're finding your feet. (I can help you there if you like!) The thing is to find a way of Fast Days not being a big deal: if you're spending the whole day in a tailspin you'll never manage to keep it up.

lastqueenofscotland · 04/04/2017 23:16

Had an really golden day today, feel like my head is 100% back in the game at last!

readyforsunshine · 05/04/2017 07:05

Morning all, I need to get my head back in the game queen I'm hoping that it will be easier once our guest leaves tomorrow, 10 days of feeding a foreign student has not been conducive to slimming! Of course then the kids break up for Easter the following day Confused
hairspray & stellar i did really well with shred a few years ago, had not been so toned since pre dcs. It can be demoralising to be a daily weigher, maybe since you like stats measure too?

Squiffy01 · 05/04/2017 08:06

Sitting in the corner cause I have been soooo and. Can't seem to find my wagon Sad

HairsprayBabe · 05/04/2017 08:07

Morning, had another really good day yesterday, 509 cals and L1 of the 30 day shred, I didn't think it was too bad and I am not sore today, so maybe I was doing it wrong!
11.2 this morning so the scales are bobbing down again today thankfully!

Going for a bra fitting at the weekend, my current ones are basically useless! I have deff gone down round the back, and some in the cup I think, I was a 34G I think I am more like a 32F now, fortunately I have one 32F I bought accidentally in the wrong size a few years ago, but I would be good to get my sizing confirmed.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/04/2017 08:16

Wow, hairspray, Shredding and fasting! That's a platinum day!

10.9.5 today - moving back in the right direction! Hoping to see 10.8.something soon.

TVHubbyClaire · 05/04/2017 08:39

DS staying at grans last night so a 4+ mile walk with DW at a good pace and then a salmon, sweet potato and avacado dinner which was excellent and no dessert....just a coffee and four Blush squares of dark chocolate. I will get that down to 1 or 2 squares eventually....

Weighed in this morning at 12st 11, hoping for a good day today although Nandos dinner is unfortunatly on the cards.....I am desperate to see 12st 9

Very close to a NSV with the belt I use for work trousers. The hole I used 12 years ago is almost back in comfortable reach. I didnt use this particular belt when I was overseas for about 7 years and only started using it a couple of years ago. Have always been in the 3rd hole since moving back but now very close to comfortably using the 4th. That will be a positive milestone!

Stellar67 · 05/04/2017 08:54

Good luck with dinner TV. Just have chicken?

Go hairspray. That's brilliant. I'm encouraged that boobs shrink.

I've had that chocolate cheddar, I'm fairly certain they make gin and tonic flavour too. I quite like flavoured chocolate. Not Terry's chocolate orange though.

Today we are at home and I am planning for a fast day. Yesterday was a right off again. I fall into this trap during the holidays, grazing and more grazing.

HairsprayBabe · 05/04/2017 08:57

TV I used to work at Nandos!

Here are some tips to help you do Nandos the "healthy" way!

The lowest calorie marinade is lemon and herb, adding about 10 calories per 25g of base spice to your order.

Go for chicken on the bone, either a 1/4 or a 1/2, if you only want a 1/4 you can specifically ask for breast.
If you don't like bone meat go for either chicken butterfly or thighs.

The healthiest sides are the corn on the cob - without butter and the side salad Macho Peas are also a good option at about 160 cals. The super grain salad is nice and around 200 calories!

If you want Fino sides the char grilled veg is only 98 cals, or fino coleslaw is 78 cals - regular coleslaw is +200 IIRC.

Do not be tempted to have chips, there are almost 500 calories in one portion! Don't ask for extra mayo either, that teeny pot is over 200 calories!

Finally if you want a starter go for olives or wings, don't go for the hummus, it contains a horrifying 800 calories, and the spicey nuts are about 750!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 05/04/2017 09:32

Nando's hummus has 800 calories in it?! 😱

Haggis chocolate doesn't really appeal, but gin and tonic flavour sounds nice. I don't know if they still make it but I used to quite like marmite chocolate!

Had a semi-successful fast day yesterday. I went over my 500 calories but hopefully that won't matter too much. Aiming for about 1500 calories and 10,000 steps today.

thanks hairspray and stellar I'm not a big fan of chips so will definitely be going for the corn as a side, will stay away from starters but will probably have a wrap or pitta, with a good day before it and a diet coke I'm hoping it wont be too bad!

I love haggis and have never seen haggis spice chocolate, I definitely want to try some of that Grin

HairsprayBabe · 05/04/2017 10:02

TV nooo! DON'T go for the wrap, they are some of the most calorific things on the menu, 700+ for some of them, the chilli jam and yoghurt mayo really push the cals up,

The pitta's are about 380-550 calories depending on what you have (chicken, beanie, veggie) so a much safer choice - I would ask for w/o mayo tbh and just dress it myself with a little oil and balsamic.

I know the hummus is horrifying, but so delicious!

TVHubbyClaire · 05/04/2017 10:06

Wow..thanks hairspray - pitta it will be!

HairsprayBabe · 05/04/2017 10:08

I am an oracle of Nando's knowledge, come to me if you have any further queries on peri-peri chicken! Grin

TVHubbyClaire · 05/04/2017 10:10

Always.......so useful to have such a wise font of knowledge at the end of the keyboard!
