Here's a link to the March thread

I'm away tonight and out and away with work Thursday!

Please may I join in? I would love to be on the best thread on Mumsnet.

i've been trying to diet since January and have only lost about 8 or 9 pounds. Hoping to do well in April with an absolute minimum loss of 4 lbs. Chocolate is my downfall and hot cross buns. I really have to try harder.

hairspray you made it! Well done! You have done so well. Hopefully I can Channel you this month.

So I won't be off to a great start as I'm out tonight for dinner and cocktails for the big 3-0 that was on Tuesday. But I'm trying to not give myself a hard time for planned events and just stay properly on track in between.

Have to go into work tomorrow at 6pm and then don't finish until Tuesday 6:30. So I need to get some meal planning done so I don't cave and eat crap to keep my eyes open.

Can I join too please? I have started the month with a kettlebell class this morning and while I was there I signed up for a couple of personal trainer sessions over Easter. I feel good and positive now (but sore all over)

Hello!

I lost 1.8kg in March, hope to do better this month but I don't feel my head's in the game.

Hello all, loving the new thread title! And welcome newbies!

Well done Hairspray, you have done so well!

Niki please don't be so hard on yourself, 2 lbs is a good solid loss. I am willing to bet you would say things like that to anyone else, it would be too mean. So why say them to yourself?

Anyway I have not been golden recently and I ended March 4 lbs heavier than I started My goal for April is to lose those 4 lbs, and anything else gone is a bonus. My plan is to stick to (the MFP estimate of) my maintenance calories Friday - Sunday, Monday and Wednesday aim for around 1500 calories, and then Tuesday and Thursday will be fast days. Exercise will be Bodypump on a Saturday morning, and then lots of walking. I'm also considering doing the 30 day shred, but only 3 times a week or so. We shall see!

I'm still here. Feeling pissed off, I have caught Boop's bad shoulder ( obviously spent too much time lying next to her sun lounger 😂) and in absolute agony.
And I can't exercise- drs orders, so my weight loss has stalled 😩
Wanted to lose 7 lb in 3 weeks before I go away next Sunday, I have managed 2.5 😔
I'm grotty and tired as I'm not sleeping well and want to eat everything. I'm generally a pleasure to be around Angry

Can I join please? I've been lurking for a while and I'm currently doing MFP.

Start weight (beg March): 11.8
Current: 10.13
April goal: 10.6 - which will finally get me back to a healthy BMI (I'm 5.4)

Best of luck everyone!

Hi all, just signing in. Welcome new people!

Niki I only lost 2lbs in march too (and no excuse as I have a lot to lose!) But I'm telling myself it's still a loss, and even better it's not a gain!

At this rate it will take me more than 2 years to reach a healthy weight 😡

Well done Hairspray for starting the month in the 10s! Your loss is very inspiring, and your iron will power!

LastQueen I'm sure you'll settle back into losing when you're settled into your new job and area.

Starting the month at 95.4 kilos - have lost 5.6 kilos altogether.

(Though I have really erratic scales - if I get them in a certain position they actually read 94.0kg! But other positions give me 97.something. So I am trying to follow the middle ground!)

Morning.

Niki I lost 2lbs too and I consider it a good loss. Think positive.

KOKO I too am loving the 2:2:3 ™ . I feel much more in control. I haven't mastered the first "2" yet but getting there.

Chard sounds like you need to be kind to yourself. Flowers Keep resting and recuperating. I get a bad shoulder and back and that's why I got into yoga.
A good thing to do is get a kitchen chair. Lie on the floor and put your legs (knees to feet) on the chair and a flattish cushion for your head and rest. Your spine straight, your shoulders flat. It will help. We don't rest our backs enough.

I'm decluttering today. Spring cleaning, including the snack cupboard.

I saw this picture of Pink. She looks amazing but would be considered overweight.

That's what I'll look like when I lose more fat, I'm naturally muscular and won't ever be willowy.

Morning, back after a bit of an absence - two weekends away plus a stressful time with my dad being very unwell after surgery complications meant I have largely been surviving on custard creams. Blush
I have by some miracle only put on one lb so I am determined to get back to it in April. I have a wedding to go to at the start of May that I would reeeeally like to feel confident for so that's my motivation to shed whatever I can.

As you were everyone! So many great losses. Star

BTW what is the 3:2:2? I Googled but couldn't find anything about it. Am intrigued!

Report
HairsprayBabe · 02/04/2017 10:03

3:2:2 is a diet devised by our very own Quim 2 fast days 2 golden days and 3 off days!

11 dead this morning, just went for a run and to the outdoor gym at our local park. No carbs for me today but we are having cheese for dinner so I will be fasting till then!

Right, I'm hopping in the thread early. Had a very motivated week last week including 3 runs and my first 5-miler in over a year. Have a half marathon in 10 weeks or so so need to up my game!

Was 13st1.25 on Monday. Will weigh in when I drag myself out of bed in a moment! I'm 5ft6.5 but like to round up for the purposes of BMI calculations Grin

what is meant by golden days?

Report
SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 02/04/2017 11:32

Sorry to hear about your dad ponygirl, that sounds really stressful. Hope he is on the mend now!

Do we have a definition for golden days? I always thought golden was more of a feeling than an actual thing, but basically I take it to mean a day where you stuck to your calories, ate healthily with no slip-ups, and got some exercise. A day where you feel as if you have been angelic.

I'm trying to kick-start April by fasting until lunch, then having a normal lunch and dinner (Couscous and halloumi salad for lunch, veggie casserole for dinner). Aiming for around 1200 calories.

She's a clever cookie our Quim. (Hope you are doing OK, have been thinking of you, especially with my dad being so poorly.)

He's doing much better thanks, home now and hopefully will stay that way. Smile
