Hello people! Right, this it it! Slightly under 7 weeks to my sister's wedding and I'm aiming for a stone off. I'm going 1200 cals plus a couple of fast days for the next couple of weeks, then I'm off to Dorset for Easter and will try to keep it low, but there will be much more wine. Hence the draconian fortnight ahead! Plus there's no trampoline for a couple of weeks, so I'm going to be back on the Shred as often as I can. I can do this!

Balonder · 02/04/2017 21:33

It's inspiring hearing all the success stories here, thanks all. I have 2+ stone to lose. I am tall so I can carry a certain amount but the + is getting bigger so it's time to sort it.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/04/2017 22:39

Ran Manchester marathon today!!
Didn't go to plan, rattled through the half in under two hours and the second half took nearly three Sad hit the wall big time.

Did burn about 109379294891 more calories than I ate though.

It's also my last day of work tomorrow so going g to enjoy the treats and recovery food and pick up properly on Tuesday. Smile
Feeling sort of positive if not incredibly sore

Balonder · 02/04/2017 23:37

Wow, well done. You ran a marathon in 4 something. Brilliant. I have never run more than 10k. Were you training for long? Enjoy the treats tomorrow, they are well deserved

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 03/04/2017 06:40

Wow LastQueen that is amazing! Well done!

Weighed in this morning, dismayed to find that after two whole days of dieting I have not yet lost the extra 4lbs I gained last month. FFS. Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 03/04/2017 06:59

Thank you both. I was aiming for about 3:55 and took a lot longer than that so currently gutted. I'm sure the sense of achievement will settle in soon enough Smile

Squiffy01 · 03/04/2017 07:02

queen that is amazing! Well done.

Today WILL be a fast day. I've already attempted two this week and ruined them both Angry not a I've gone slightly over so can still be counted as a golden day but an eat everything I can get my hands on ruin Sad. I think AF is around the corner so might explain things.

HairsprayBabe · 03/04/2017 08:17

Morning all, I am 3lbs up from the start of the month already! Blush

Ate far too much this weekend, attempted to compensate by exercising lots but it doesn't seem to have made any difference other than I am really sore now! 11.2 hopefully a good fast day will see all some of that come off and I can get back on track.

No plans this weekend so I have to try and ignore DP's big goo goo let's get a take away eyes!

KikisDeliveryService · 03/04/2017 08:32

Hello old faces and new

quim much love to you and your family. Flowers

While I have been absent from the thread I got to my lowest weight of recent times, felt fit healthy and fabulous and then my mum nearly died. Amazingly, she's pulled through, though it's been traumatic. We're not out of the woods by any means but a reprieve for now.

I am no longer my lowest weight, though gain is not disastrous and building back up my fitness again, having signed up to do a hilly 10k before it all kicked off.

My reaction to trauma is that exercise endorphins no longer have effect and I replace it all with sugar and getting ill enough to not want to move.

I have intentions of a fast day of sorts today, likely just very low carb. We shall see, I am being kind to myself with healthy delights and sugar needs to be ousted for a bit.

TVHubbyClaire · 03/04/2017 09:17

well done queen, running a marathon is fantastic no matter what splits or total timeSmile

April weigh in this morning was 12st 10 1/4, not bad for a Monday and on a positive note I'm down almost 9 Lindas since joining this thread in mid January.

pebbles my sugar crackdown starts tonight, I love our nespresso machine but tend to only use it at weekends. I'm going to use that as a treat instead of dessert.

Shared my cunning plan with DW yesterday so she will not buy sweet stuff for me. I didn't mention that the idea came from two advisors called Babe and Quim......

ArseyTussle · 03/04/2017 09:41

Queen very well done. I am in awe of anyone who can run a marathon

Seems like we are all having a struggle this weekend. I have not eaten too badly but. It much exercise and too much booze.

Had an awesome night last night volunteering for the Teenage Cancer Trust at their gig at the royal Albert hall. Really good fun

OMG Last that is an amazing achievement - well done you super star.

TV good luck. I finished the weekend with a mini Hagen Daaz out of the freezer that DP bought me for mothers day from the dog!

Weekend not too bad - don't feel like I overate but my choices weren't diet friendly , Saturday fish and chips but left 90% of the chips, few Vodka and Diet cokes, Sunday night Fillet steak with Lime noodles - DP cooked - drives me insane as he uses oil, how can I try and convince him to not use Olive oil - he insists its fine. I have the one cal spray, GRRRRR

I weigh on a Wednesday as fell hopefully weekend damage is filtered out Hmm

Have good Mondays - I think the apples on my desk are multiplying - I keep bringing them in and failing to eat them!

lastqueenofscotland · 03/04/2017 11:49

Thank you all. It's miles and miles off my PB so feeling a bit dejected but just need to remember that it's an acheivement! And I will get that 3:45 one day!!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/04/2017 11:56

Queen, that's amazing! I am in total awe of marathon runners. I am too scared of my toenails falling off to even contemplate it

Kiki, I'm so sorry to hear that! You poor thing. Glad to hear your mum has pulled through - hope she continues to recover well.

3lbs up after hen party weekend! That'll learn me! KOKO, I have been the same with losing during the week and putting it all back on at weekends for at least the last 6 weeks. I am going to stop having weekends completely off! And my new plan is to park quite far away from work and walk 20 mins in and back.

ponygirlcurtis · 03/04/2017 12:10

Amazing stuff queen, you are a running superstar! Hope you are not too sore today.

Kiki sorry to hear about your mum but glad she is doing better at the moment. Reacting that way to such stress is totally normal, you will get back on track.

HairsprayBabe · 03/04/2017 12:13

That really is amazing Lasty
I managed 2 miles on Sunday and thought I was going to die Grin

readyforsunshine · 03/04/2017 14:08

Such a lot to catch up on!
queen amazing, I took up running a few years ago (since given up) & was so proud at being able to run for 20 mins non stop, seriously in awe!
hairspray yay, you reached your 1's! Will soon bob back down, keep glugging the water.
kiki sorry to hear about your mum, too many on the thread having parents poorly, glad to hear she on the mend.
koko & cheddar weekends also my downfall, must do better. I've managed portion control but the carbs slipped in a bit.
Started the month 10.91/2, this weeks aim is to have a minimum of 3 alcohol free days, target for the month, 7lbs would be amazing, realistically I'll be happy if I can manage 1 a week.
If anybody else wants a diet twin I'm 5'4 & 10.91/2.
Good luck everyone Smile

QuimReaper · 03/04/2017 17:42

Hairspray I KNEW IT!!!! Grin And yes, I am a weight loss sorcerer - sadly I can foresee but not control Linda, making me more Professor Trelawney than Dumbledore, but my proclamations must always be heeded Wink

Blimey lasty a marathon! I could literally never in a thousand years manage that, I am in awe.

And welcome back Kiki, long time no see!

Lovely to see all these new faces, I will scroll back and get to know you all in a moment!

My Fast Day has already gone a shade pear shaped with an unforeseen soya latte Blush

QuimReaper · 03/04/2017 17:54

Oh and hello pony, I thought we'd lost you!

2:2:3 is my own patented Way of Eating, and I have turned a few others on to it now Grin Basically the week consists of 2 fast days and 2 "golden" days which in my case is no carbs, lots of veg, basically small / light / healthy meals and a good amount of steps. I try to keep golden days under 1000 calories, others go for 1200, whatever works for you. Then I am allowed wine, carbs and treats on the weekend (which naturally starts on Friday and includes Sunday!).

It works for me because I need to have a "release valve" built in in order to deny myself treats for the majority of the time, and I find that the 2:2 at least neutralises, and usually offsets the 3. The routine helps me control cravings too: after doing it for a long time my brain sort of "knows" that it can't have wine, bread etc. on a Monday so doesn't really ask for it.

(I'm pretty lax, I don't stick to golden / fast days if I have social occasions, but I do at least always manage to fit in the fast days.)

TVHubbyClaire · 03/04/2017 18:00

Can I ask how a fast day works, does this mean no food at all Confused

Are you allowed fruit/veg nibbles /drinks.....how do you get through the day?

ponygirlcurtis · 03/04/2017 18:44

I just got a bit distracted by trying to eat all the custard creams in the known universe, Quim. Grin I like the sound of 'The Quim Plan' (patent pending), might give that a wee go. How are you doing?

TV fasting usually means restricting to around 500 calories (including veg and milk in tea etc) for that day, it may be more for a man.
