koko I think coming in at 1000 cals counts as a great day, and doing that 4 days a week will work really well if you can keep it up! Even just three days at 1,000 would be sure to yield great results, and then if you went a bit over but still went easy on the booze/sugar/carbs for a fourth day I think you'd be laughing. I think it's helpful to think about the calories over the entire week when you're calculating TDEE, so if you did 1800 x 3 and 1000 x 4 your daily average would be under 1400, which is a good deficit if your TDEE is 1800, so you could easily afford a couple of hundred more calories on one of those days.

pony I must say I'm jealous of the custard cream binge! Grin I'm doing OK - some days well, others badly, and there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason so it's hard to plan for. Everyone's been very lovely and understanding.

QuimReaper · 03/04/2017 20:38

I have a really big sore bloated belly today. DH has said he isn't hungry so I might give dinner a skip to make up for the latte and get my fast back on track, and shoot for an early night. Managed about 15,000 steps so feeling pretty satisfied with my efforts.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/04/2017 21:12

547 calories plus probably an hour of walking. Not bad!

You took the words right out of my mouth TV, I would love to know more about the fast days because they seem the very difficult ones to me and I'm not sure that I could handle them but would love to know more. I'm guessing soup.

poorpaws · 03/04/2017 22:46

Oops sorry scrap that. Was on the previous page

QuimReaper · 03/04/2017 23:42

poorpaws they are really quite do-able, but it's about finding your feet. Try several different approaches to see what suits you: in my case I need to sustain myself with small amounts of food throughout the day, no carbs and mostly protein. I just have tea throughout the morning, then have a couple of hard boiled eggs when I get hungry, then in the afternoon I have a green smoothie which I can string out for quite a long time, then a light, easy evening meal (as you say half a thing of soup is great). I keep it simple with mostly pre-prepared things like packets of supermarket roast chicken, Babybels, Covent Garden soups, etc. so I don't have to mess around too much weighing things out. Other people prefer to fast all day then have a "normal" evening meal. It's about trying all sorts of menus and eating patterns and just seeing what is sustainable for you.

It might even be that you can't manage 500 calories but 750 is comfortable. That's still a great calorie deficit and you'll see great results. (I don't know how that would impact the other health benefits Mosely claims, but it'll certainly work for weight loss). Finding something that works and you can stick to will be the key to getting results, even if you take it a tiny bit slower than other people. Heaven knows I lose a lot more slowly than others on this thread by having days off, but after lots of talking about it I'm actually doing it and that's the main thing.

FreeNiki · 04/04/2017 01:38

I have been bad over the last week and haven't put on. Have stayed the same. oh well onwards and downwards.

HairsprayBabe · 04/04/2017 08:14

WTAF. I am grumpy today. I went for a run last night, and did a quick 15 min bootcamp thing (squats, pushups, situps, leg lifts, planks and frog legs). AND I only had 442 calories, AND I drank like nearly 3l of water...

and I have gained a pound Angry How? Why? I am now 5lbs up on the 1st of the month and back at 11.3 and overweight....

FGS...

Rant over.

Stellar67 · 04/04/2017 08:43

Well done slenderistas. All looking good.

Well done last! Brilliant work.

Quim when my mum died I felt like I was up and down all the time and didn't know why. Nothing made sense. It took a while and sometimes I still have days where I catch myself out.
Be kind to yourself. I have learnt that much.

Well I inadvertently turned my 2 into a 3 yesterday. Might even have been a 4. Was doing well then the in laws arrived and when they left I just sat in a vat of crisps and wine. My mil is nice in her own way but big she saps the life out of me. She sadly had to get a wheelchair and she's finding it difficult. She's not using it. It's a long story.

Anyway between that and DH calling with his troubles (wonder where he gets that trait from) I was weak.

I feel stronger today (and may be turning the phones on silent) Wink

Stellar67 · 04/04/2017 08:50

Hairspray you are doing all the right things. Do. It despair. I am beginning to think scales are not the way to go. I have lost lots of inches but only 2lbs. What's that about?

I weaned myself off weighing myself so much last month. I think I said I'd try not to step on the scales all month but instead I went for weekly, then ended up a whole fortnight and only went on for the end of March. Was then I thought, well that should be disheartening, but I'm going to let it go and know I'm doing a great job.

I think I'm becoming a yoga nerd 🤓 I've given life advice in two posts now. Grin

Stellar67 · 04/04/2017 08:51

That'll be don't despair..... perhaps my advice isn't so great Grin

ponygirlcurtis · 04/04/2017 10:34

Hairspray, I doubt very much you have eaten enough calories over to gain 5lb in just 3 days, that would require a Herculean effort of consumption - 17.5k!! imagines it, drools It will be water weight, or your muscles retaining water after activity.

Arf at yoga nerd, Stellar! I am bouncing round between 10st 13lbs and 11st 1lb, but I feel I can see a difference in my shape. I am sure I read somewhere that even after a fat cell has shed it's 'fat', it doesn't immediately disappear, it stays filled with water and gradually the water goes, only then does the cell shrinks away to nothing.

HairsprayBabe · 04/04/2017 10:54

Omg that would be sooo much food
I did eat a lot this weekend, I always try to skip lunch/breakky sometimes both if I know I'll be having a blowout later!

Saturday cals 2018
B. 1 egg, 1/2 Avocado
D. Whole pizza Blush
Wine

Sunday cals 1952 (approx)
B. Strawberries and coffee
D. Cheese board
(Camembert, Mexican cheese, smoked, cheddar, gruyere)
Hummus & crudites
Oatcakes, flatbread, palmiers
Chutney
Butter
Nuts

I was wondering if there was such thing as residual calories, where your body is still burning off stuff you ate from the day before?
I did think about the water weight thing but I don't really feel sore from the exercise so I didn't think it would apply!

Fingers crossed I have a bit of a downwards shift tomorrow!

lastqueenofscotland · 04/04/2017 12:31

Hairspray I think I've decided to have a bit of a break from weighing myself and going for getting a bit more toned.

You are utterly amazing I couldn't do excerise on 500 cals a day I'd feint Blush

TVHubbyClaire · 04/04/2017 12:31

I was just researching calories in fruit and found a BMI calculator link . it very kindly confirmed that I am overweight with a BMI of 27. Apparently 25 is just on the limit but I should be no more than 11st 11lbs in weight.

FFS thats another stone to go Sad and to think I was feeling thinner....

I really hope cutting out my desserts during the week help,

QuimReaper · 04/04/2017 13:35

TV cutting desserts will definitely help. How much have you lost so far?

Hairspray it definitely takes a couple of days to recover from a blowout, that's why I don't weigh until Thursday at the earliest after the weekend - things like carbs, sugar, and especially alcohol and salt cause all sort of weird things like bloating and water retention which skew the scale number. You know it can't be 5lb of actual weight / fat so you need to let it all settle down to see what's what.

TVHubbyClaire · 04/04/2017 13:42

quim I think I have lost about 7 or 8 Lindas since starting around 13st 5.

To be honest if I got comfortably below 12st 10 say around the 12st 5 mark I'd be pretty happy

HairsprayBabe · 04/04/2017 13:54

I know you are all correct,
It was just v annoying that the scales went up this morning when I had definitely been good! Have calmed down now though Grin

What is for dinner tonight all?

We are having seared tuna steaks with tomato salsa and green beans - not veggie but I am trying to up my protein intake so fish is back on the menu once a week at least for now!

Can't not weigh - keeps me in the zone - if I don't see the numbers I am less inclined to try!

QuimReaper · 04/04/2017 14:39

Aaaah we've all been there Hairspray, it is the worst - well done on regaining perspective Grin

Prawn stir fry here tonight, with egg fried rice for lucky husband!

HairsprayBabe · 04/04/2017 14:47

Oh, also I am investigating the 30 day shred, we are having a hot tub party in June and I want to look slamming be very healthy for it.

Stellar67 · 04/04/2017 17:00

Oh I just found my 30 day shred DVD, which I bought a long time ago. And it's still in the cellophane Blush

TVHubbyClaire · 04/04/2017 17:16

Nicely done Stellar, your DVD is like my running shoes that haven't left my wardrobe since last summer....Blush
