4 stones losers - anyone with me?

I'm 5'8" (well a quarter short - 5'7 3/4) and currently 192 pounds. Two years ago, I was 167. I feel so fat.

Anyone with me? I hope to be at least 2 stones less by July (my birthday).

Enjoy yourself for a week - you know you'll be back on top of it next week and will soon undo the damage. You've done so well, you can pick it back up again.

I lost that Lb again and hope that there will be another lb tomorrow morning, but I'm off to Royal Windsor Horse Show for a long weekend with the girls, so I will be enjoyed myself there. I'm one of the drivers, so won't be drinking too much.

Enjoy Chatsworth, let's hope the rain forecast is only the odd shower.

DENMAN03 · 11/05/2017 21:12

Thank you, and yes, I will be back on it! Go on holiday in a week and a halfs time to Monaco for the Grand Prix with 10 friends and just glad I will no longer stick out as the fat one! Bought some lovely clothes to wear and can't wait!

Have fun at Windsor! I've never been there despite living in Sussex! I'm a real eventing fan so tend to plan my year around the BE calendar!

honeyroar · 11/05/2017 22:02

Yes me too, we camp at a few over the season. You should try Windsor though, there's so much variety of equestrian disciplines you remember just how awesome creatures they are and why we fell in love with them as little girls! It's also very "British" and has a lovely feel to it.

DENMAN03 · 11/05/2017 22:30

It sounds lovely! I will definitely give it a go! Where is your next event planned? My favourite event is Blenheim! I camp for the 4 days and love it. Also off to Pau this year. My only 4 star event left then will be in Australia! Planning on doing that in a couple of years.

honeyroar · 15/05/2017 19:51

Hi, hope Chatsworth was good. Windsor was superb, we had a great trip. I didn't think about what I ate or drank for a moment, so will have tp be ultra good for the rest of the week.

My next event will be Bramham, but I've got a double booking and can only go on the Thurs this year. It's the first time we've not camped there for 8 years, and I'm a bit gutted. We've camped at Blenheim for the past two years and are going this year too. If we're both still doing well and chatting on here I will have to meet you for a celebratory glass of bubbles! I've not been to any of the foreign events, I'd quite like to, but we usually take the dogs with us. Have you ever done Barbury? I quite fancy that one.

Apologies to everyone else on here for such a horsey detour!

DENMAN03 · 15/05/2017 20:00

Glad you had a great weekend! I too had a great time and didn't really think about the diet. I did try and make better choices whilst eating out however. Had a lovely chicken dish with new potatoes on Saturday rather than chips, plus had a much smaller breakfast than normal. I did drink a lot of wine however.

Today I've been a bit under the weather with a touch of man flu so haven't felt hungry. Also blew out a work dinner so that's saved a few calories!

Yes, I've been to Barbary... it's a lovely event with great viewing. I would recommend it! And would love to catch up at Blenheim...we can compare our before and after pictures!

DENMAN03 · 18/05/2017 21:01

Arrrgh, really struggling this week! It's like I feel I look good now so why bother, yet I still have two stone to lose, so it's not like I'm anywhere near a healthy BMI! Eaten well but have been tempted by wine the last two days when normally I would have stayed strong. Annoyed with myself and my lack of self control at the moment! Someone give me a kick up the backside!!!!

honeyroar · 19/05/2017 10:00

Ok. Gentle kick! Come on, you know you can do this. You won't lose it, you've done too well to give up. Rein it in then let go in Monaco!

For what it's worth I'm having a wobble too. Stayed the same for 2 wks now and only lost 4lbs last month so feeling a bit frustrated, even though my rational head knows it's all good and in the right direction. I'm full of a cold and feeling fed up, I think!

DENMAN03 · 19/05/2017 18:13

Thanks, it's what I needed! No loss this week which is no surprise! Right, time to get my head back in the zone. I've been poorly this week too so maybe it's a thing that it makes you want to cheer yourself up and to me that means nice food!

ImogenR · 20/05/2017 00:46

Use the force.

DENMAN03 · 20/05/2017 15:27

Well great news! I've bought a pair of size 12 jeans and they actually fit!! Whoop whoop. They are from Sainsbury's however so I'm sure are on the generous side, but 5 months ago I was buying size 18's from there! Oh and lost a pound this morning too.

Mum2lots · 20/05/2017 19:47

Hi All

honeyroar · 20/05/2017 22:04

Hello mum2lots!

Well done Denman. I'm still in size 18, I was in 20. Must feel good.

Itsafunnyoldgame · 21/05/2017 10:01

Hi can I join? Haven't read full thread but will once I've posted.

I weighed myself yesterday and actually cried at the scales.

5,7 and 14 stones so 4 stone to loose.

I got down to 10 stones a couple of years ago and have now totally lost motivation, I need to get back into it as I hate feeling like this.

notevenamum1 · 21/05/2017 10:54

OP - I am practically you! I am 5ft8 (plus 2 quarters) and I weigh in at 189. Gotta get this chubs off!! Check out the LCHF (low carb high fat) thread. They are starting tomorrow and so am I. I am going shopping today to make my meals in advance. Please join me! X

honeyroar · 21/05/2017 19:48

Hello ItsFunnyoldgame, welcome. Don't be too hard on yourself. Pick a plan that you're happy you can follow and be pleased that you've made a start. I think a lot of people fall off track after a few weeks because they've been basically starving themselves and it's too hard to stick to long term. I've just given up processed food and sugar this year (still eating carbs, fruit and having occasional alcohol and takeaways) and while it's been a slow weight loss it's also been steady (lb a week). I've also given up anything diet/low fat too.

DENMAN03 · 22/05/2017 20:59

Hi to the new joiners to the thread! We can all do this together and having lots of encouragement really works. I'm now nearly six months in and have had some great success but also some lows. It's about staying positive and not letting the lows throw you off course! I had at least 4 stone to lose this year and know I will get there. I've lost over 50lbs to date which feels amazing. Just trying to maintain over the couple of weeks as off on holiday and I'm going to enjoy it. Then I will be back on it with a vengeance! Good luck everyone.

honeyroar · 25/05/2017 20:59

How's everyone doing? I've had a good week. I've lost two lbs this week and the size lower jeans I bought last month are already looking baggy.

DENMAN03 · 01/06/2017 09:58

Hi , that's great news! Well done! I'm back from my holidays now and managed to put on 6 lbs! Oh well, it could have been worse and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine. Back on it now and hopefully those gained pounds will come off quickly.

honeyroar · 01/06/2017 10:52

Hi welcome back. Glad you had a good time. You'll get that off soon. You've got to enjoy your life. If you can accept the blips and get back on with it you've cracked it. It's the letting it slide and escalate that kills it.

I'm happy, got anther lb off this week, so am happy, I feel back on track with it steadily going down.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 01/06/2017 12:21

Hello - please could I join in

Have had 3 babies in the last 4 years and am now fatter than when 40 weeks with the youngest Shock

I want to lose nearly 4 stone and have just signed up with weightwatchers online.

After looking about, I think it might work best for me.

honeyroar · 01/06/2017 21:20

Hello Gobolino, of course you can. What day are you going to start? Are you going to meetings too?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 01/06/2017 21:29

I'm starting on Monday Grin

No meetings but just getting used to the app - which is very good.

Am now worrying that I should be doing lo carb or something as everyone seems to think that different diets work better. But I think that WW is the most realistic for me

honeyroar · 01/06/2017 21:34

Just try it, see if it suits you. It's not a bad diet. I've done it on and off over the years. I like to weigh in later in the week rather than a Monday, so if you have a "heavy" weekend you get a few days to claw it back before your weigh in day!

DENMAN03 · 07/06/2017 20:40

How's everyone doing? I've been starving this week so far....grrr. Think my stomach still wants to be on holiday but I know it will get easier. The belly bloat has gone down so hoping for a few pounds off on Friday. Even managed a 45 min walk after riding the horse so feeling rather smug! I hate exercise with a passion but I've been promised a slap up meal in August if I go out with her 3 times a week.
