Niki we all have different things going on in life so don't compare.

I'd love to havce the time to go to the gym a few times a week and classes like I used to but the reality is as a single parent I don't have the time energy or support. My hours are increasing at work and already I am thinking WTF. However I should try and go for a run or do a DVD as my exercise bike isn't doing much!

lastqueenofscotland · 22/02/2017 16:03

Dived into a few too many biscuits today but not going to let it ruin the rest of the day and going to crack back on!

FreeNiki · 22/02/2017 16:05

Yes that is true ponygirl. I have PCOS too so I pile on weight easier than most.

Well done BOOP, that is super amazing!!!

I decided I can't mentally handle staying the same for a 4th week in a row, I'm obviously doing something wrong or not as strict as I was being so yesterday I signed up to weight watchers online and am now tracking /!pointing everything in addition to low carbing. I will forever hate my wedding pics if I don't make some progress before hand!!

On a positive note I am going for chicken and salad at nandos tonight - yummy!!

Koko you know, I feel the same. I'm stuck and wading. But I'm trying and reading this thread keeps me going. I don't expect anything from anyone on it.
Just seeing people in the same boat does help.
Keep posting and reading. If that's all you do for now, it's still better than nothing.

I can't have any shots tonight, had enough. Will be going to bed as soon as DCs have gone. Smile

QuimReaper · 22/02/2017 20:06

koko you poor thing, I know how demoralising and shit it can be. Have a huge squeeze from me.

Just look at BOOP though - she was feeling demoralised last week and her trousers are falling off her! If you plug away at it it will happen for you, and once you start seeing results it'll be so much easier for the whole thing to become a habit. Nobody's pretending it ain't a slog, but how often do you wake up one morning and go "how the heck is it Easter already, I swear it was Christmas five seconds ago?"? Time gallops away from you and although it looks daunting at first when you say "it'll take three months to lose a stone" (or whatever) that time is going to pass one way or another, and those weeks will be gone before you know it, and the Lindas with them if you persevere.

Just keep on keepin' on, as a wise woman once said Wink

QuimReaper · 22/02/2017 20:11

Oopsie, that's for you too Stellar! Speaking to other people is the thing that really does it for me too. That's (again) why I really need this thread: I have occasionally chatted to RL friends about weight loss but I find it very uncomfortable, and even the ones I can chat to a bit don't want to hear every single day how many steps I did and how many calories I ate Grin

(Whereas I know you lot find it all utterly riveting Wink )

lastqueenofscotland · 22/02/2017 21:28

My not golden day dragged on a bit longer than t should have and I started so well Sad

I'm going to really step it up for a week now to try and get to 9'8 by the 1st. Quite cross at myself really!!

KOKO and Stellar we have all absolutely been there. More often then we'd care to admit I guess. But if you stop trying now you will undo all the hard slog you've done already and think how dispirited you'll feel.

I wish I could come round to yours and scoop you both up.

I know you can do this. Just try and believe that yourselves Flowers

Everyone is sounding much more positive!

I have had a good day today! But shared a bottle of wine with dh and had some popcorn (pop works sticky toffee pudding) we had about 1/2 the bag and it only worked out 150 ish calls each. So feel like I've had a big treat but actually still under 1200 cals with my meals! And I've been on a walk for the last 3 days which is brilliant for me! It was raining and not nice today but I still went out.

Will that popcorn sounds delicious. Well done on your controlled day

BitOutOfPractice · 22/02/2017 23:22

KOKO we all know that if you expend more calories than you ingest, you'll lose weight. It doesn't always happen in a logical way but it'll happen.

FreeNiki · 23/02/2017 02:37

Did 2 circuits classes and a stretch class. But I fell off the wagon and ate chocolate and cake.

Oh well. Will be better tomorrow with food.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/02/2017 04:26

I'd say losing weight is 80% down to diet, 20% exercise.

Storm Doris has woken me up Angry

willhazboz · 23/02/2017 06:25

Storm Doris has woken my kids up Angry been up loads with the baby. (Stupid flat roof 3 outside walls room!) Dh day off so will probably be a bit more relaxed. I will still eat good meals but will probably eat over a longer period of time and I've been trying 16:8. Going to get some more sleep but have a walk hopefully today (if the pram and dog won't blow away!)
The popcorn is delicious boop unfortunately it's from the local supermarket which is shutting down. So hopefully I can find it elsewhere!
I find that diet tends to do a lot more for me than exercise. Exercise just puts me in the right frame of mind really. But I think incorporating it into your lifestyle is the key to maintaining. So I would say to do exercise that is sustainable long term niki and concentrate on food.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 23/02/2017 06:47

You did TWO circuits classes Niki?! Christ, I think one would have been enough to totally floor me! That's really impressive, and I'm sure the exercise is good for you, but be careful not to overdo it. I also agree that weight loss is more to do with diet than exercise.

I managed my fast day pretty well until last night when I was making my way home after a loooong evening meeting, and all the trains were delayed because of storm bloody Doris. I ended up waiting for what seemed like hours (it was only about 30 minutes, but still) on a platform in the cold and the rain. Unfortunately when I eventually got home I cracked and ate some speculoos spread on toast. Somehow though I have managed to lose another pound, so now I am down 3lbs for February, and 9lbs in total.

lastqueenofscotland · 23/02/2017 07:18

Somehow managed to stay much the same after an awful day yesterday, feeling very motivated to crack on properly today.

ArseyTussle · 23/02/2017 07:37

Morning all, and an encouraging squeeze for those feeling deflated.

AF is on the way, hence the wanting to eat EVERYTHING in sight.

I'm staying off the scales until Monday, and praying for some sort of loss, would feel crap if with a couple of days of unbridled piggery I've undone the bit I did lose this month.

HairsprayBabe · 23/02/2017 08:02

Apologies for the weather folks, I work for a not very popular government agency that deals with flooding and storms and our phone has been ringing off the hook since I got in at 7!

Quick announcement It's My Birthday!

11.8 this morning, very pleased -2lbs for the month, will try to avoid too much cake tonight, and be reasonably good when away, no booze lowish on the carb front ignoring calories though.

Archduke · 23/02/2017 08:11

Hello all.

I've been in front of a computer all day and feel weird all wired and spinny and peculiar.

Food, no breakfast, some nuts for snacking, salad lunch and cracked on the way home as was STARVING so bought takeaway sushi which is my death row meal

Off out for a run tonight with some school mums, I really really really don't want to go but know I'll feel better afterwards.

I was feeling pretty chipper today about my lovely new slim(ish) self until I had to be a stand in for a work photo shoot with another woman who is about 5 feet nothing and one of those tiny doll-like people. I felt like a GIANT next to her. A right heffalump. Honestly I felt enormous. So depressing. Sad What is it with these mini people?! Stupid teeny weeny humans.

I agree with the general 80% food 20% exercise ratio. Although Niki you are doing loads of exercise so maybe it will be different. Be careful you don't do so much exercise you end up ravenous though.

ponygirlcurtis · 23/02/2017 08:11

Happy birthday Hairspray! Flowers instead of Cake Grin Hope you have a good day, can imagine it will be a a bit of a busy one...

Still just in the 10s here, no idea why as I feel like I am picking lots!
