Hi, I know there are lots of new 2017 threads but thought I'd see if there are others like me with a small amount of weight to lose who want support.
This day last year I weighed 10st 11lbs which is my heaviest ever (I am 165cm / 5ft 5in) My aim then was to be under 10 st which I managed but then spent most of the year bobbing around the 10 st mark, which was fine.
Today I weigh 10st 3lbs. It is TOTM so that always adds a pound or two but my target is to lose 7lbs initially and then perhaps aim for 9 1/2.
Aiming to count calories and exercise as this is what has worked best for me in the past Smile

Pinx what was the food programme?

PinxTheTinxMinx · 02/01/2017 21:43

It was on channel 4 at 8, I think it was something like food unwrapped diet/new year special.

NewYearNewNickname · 02/01/2017 22:04

All good here again today. Second day with no alcohol and calories for the day came in at between 1100 - 1200 even though I had 2 course dinner at Pizza Express Smile
Back to work tomorrow so need to resist the biscuits and chocolate which will no doubt be in the office!!

V pleased with self. Plan to do similar tomorrow.

Monzeitia · 03/01/2017 07:25

Can I also join in
I lost over a stone last year from 10 stones 8 to 9 stones 5 and very happy to find out this morning that I remained the same after this two weeks of eating absolutely crap
I would love to be 9 stones

chocolatecheesecake · 03/01/2017 07:38

Can I join? I'm currently 11st, 5ft6. I managed to hold my weight steady at about 10st 7-9lb last year until the xmas pig-outbut I would really like to get down to 10st 2lb (pre-baby stable weight). Currently finishing off the xmas food and DD birthday tomorrow so looking to start on Monday once all celebrations done. Placemarking and wishing you all well in the meantime.

Oblomov16 · 03/01/2017 07:49

I'm in. Similar weights to OP. Got down to 10. Now 10-5. Want to be 9-5.

Needmorewine · 03/01/2017 07:53

Well done everyone who's already started & on track ! I never got out for my run yesterday just too bloody cold. The programme on ch.4 last night was really interesting I think there's something similar on tonight also on channel 4.
Meal plan for today :
Scrambled egg and ham
Smoked mackerel avocado salad
Salmon in butter sauce with broccoli, spinach and green beans.
Need to try & up the water !

GohomeRoger · 03/01/2017 09:20

I'm joining! I'm currently 9 stone 9, Medication has made me gain 10lbs, not a huge amount but enough that my clothes don't fit. I started yesterday trying the no s diet and did well until the evening when I caved and ate some celebrationsAngry.
So my goal is:
No s diet
Walk 10,000 steps daily
Drink more water
Eat my 5 a day.

UnbornMortificado · 03/01/2017 09:24

Ooh il join.

I don't actually weigh myself due to previous issues but my jeans feel tight. I'm guessing it's about a half stone Christmas gain.

I'm 5 5 and size 12 also on medication (bi-polar) that hinders weight loss.

MegBusset · 03/01/2017 14:06

Afternoon all :)

Had a good couple of days although did have some wine and a few leftover Christmas chocs last night. 9st 4.5lb this morning.

simpson · 03/01/2017 16:14

Can I join?

I don't know how much I weigh but am creeping towards a size 14 and should really be a 10/12. Most of my weight is on my stomach Sad

I am doing:
No booze
No bread
Limiting pasta/potatoes
Heathy snacks (snacking is my downfall!)
Walking everywhere
Loads of water.

Today is day 2 & I felt v hungry yesterday evening but got through it.

Breakfast: one banana
Lunch: ryvita with cottage cheese & chopped peppers, cucumber, cherry toms etc
Dinner: chicken, rice and salad.

Corneliagoescamping · 03/01/2017 19:43

I have had a sort of good day: healthy breakfast and 6 mile run but then quite a giant lunch due to being starving from run and relatively good dinner- pumpkin ravioli with cherry tomatoes, loads of green beans and a little bit of mozzarella and pesto. Quite a small portion. Then a couple of squares of chocolate. I love running and feel better doing it but it does make me hungry so I think the days I don't run and eat much less are the ones that help me lose weight.

Hello, yes please! I am also a small, 5ft1, and 10st 9.
I've always been small, was 8st 2 comfortably when I got married (10 years ago). Had two children since (put on alot of weight with both) and seem to just be hanging in the '10s' now and I really want to be at least 9 st 9, to start with anyway.

My biggest problem is binge snacking, I eat healthily all day and exercise and then will be overcome with hunger and eat too much chocolate or crisps.
So I've cut out all crisps and chocolate for January, I exercise regularly (run/netball) but also have a Fitbit now so will keep to at least 10k steps as well.
Any ideas for filling healthy snacks. Often when I get in from work I am ravenous and that's when I reach for the wrong food. I'm not very good at being hungry so need to have healthy foods to reach for!
Lastly, really pleased to join the thread as will give me extra motivation!

Needmorewine · 03/01/2017 22:33

Eeek I've stuck to low carb today but feel like I've eaten just too much Blush I have been hungry though and I remember hearing if you are low carbing it takes a few days for body to adjust ?! Does anyone know if this is right or not ?
Well done to everyone who's stayed on plan today.

PinxTheTinxMinx · 03/01/2017 22:38

Achieved all my goals, smashed my 10k daily step challenge by doing just over 20, really pleased. No alcohol or bread and resisted the temptation of everyone bringing cakes into work, I stuck with two satsumas. Plus I managed to eat within my 8 hour window.

Well done to everyone 👏🏻

Needmorewine · 03/01/2017 22:40

Good work Pinx !

Eebahgumlass · 03/01/2017 22:44

A good day I think but maybe a bit carby. Stuck to calories though and did 10k steps. Also got up early to do a 20 minute HIit session and no booze for second day. Whoop! I have a work trip coming up and want to drop a few pounds by then .

Colourmylife1 · 03/01/2017 22:45

I've had a couple of good days. I'm low carbing, doing dry January and 10k steps a day. I am feeling a little bit hungry so should probably eat a bit more but I'm quite enjoying the feeling after weeks of feeling stuffed and bloated. I don't plan to weigh myself but will judge progress by my my 'jeans of truth'. I reckon there's 10lbs between me bursting out of them (as I do now) and then fitting very comfortably.

busyrascal · 03/01/2017 22:45

Can I join please?

Currently 10st 9lb and aiming for 10st. The plan is to run 5k 2-3 times per week in January and then drop to once a week in Feb alongside a 30 day shred.

Planning to start ttc at some point this year so want to be at my best Smile

lemonbiscuit · 03/01/2017 22:46

10 stone 8 lbs at start of November, got down to 10 stone 2 lbs before Christmas but now back up to 10 stone 4. Aiming for 10 stone by beginning of Feb by eating about 1500 cals a day.

NewYearNewNickname · 03/01/2017 23:00

Wow Pinx that's great, well done!

Spally snacking between finishing work and having dinner is my danger zone too. Today I was hungry when I left work and knew I would be tempted by toast when I got home so was very disciplined and stopped off to buy myself an apple Halo Planning is key for me. Snacks I try to have on hand are rice cakes with cottage cheese, eggs or fruit. I do also think there is something in the old have a glass of water/ mug of tea instead of food tip. It often helps me.
No exercise here today but calories around 1000 so happy with that. Also trying the 8 hour window for eating as not having breakfast definitely helps keep me on track and I don't care who says it is the most important meal! I think it just wakes up my stomach and taste buds!!
Well done to all those who stayed on track today and remember tomorrow is another day for those who didn't manage today Smile

GohomeRoger · 03/01/2017 23:56

High five pinx, I also smashed my 10,000 steps going today by doing over 19,000.

Ate reasonably well, (banana and PB on toast for breakfast, quest bar for lunch, chicken and sweet potato curry for dinner) managed 3.5 of my 5 a day. Definitely didn't drink enough water.

Didn't manage the no snacking thing again. I am a grazer, so I think just calorie counting on mfp will suit me better than the no s diet, at least for now (while there is still festive chocs in the house).

TomHardyswife · 04/01/2017 06:57

This thread is just what I need to get back into it!

I am 5ft 5 and need to lose a good stone. I don't weigh as I go off clothes instead.

I am planning on getting rid of the Xmas chocolates and doing what I know works best for me which is low carbing.

Just need to stick to it!
