A thread for those wanting to lose less than a stone

Hi, I know there are lots of new 2017 threads but thought I'd see if there are others like me with a small amount of weight to lose who want support.
This day last year I weighed 10st 11lbs which is my heaviest ever (I am 165cm / 5ft 5in) My aim then was to be under 10 st which I managed but then spent most of the year bobbing around the 10 st mark, which was fine.
Today I weigh 10st 3lbs. It is TOTM so that always adds a pound or two but my target is to lose 7lbs initially and then perhaps aim for 9 1/2.
Aiming to count calories and exercise as this is what has worked best for me in the past Smile

I've also just remembered I weighed myself last Saturday so I guess saturday is my weigh in day. I'm now down to 9st 6 lbs so 4 lb lost.

EnormousTiger · 07/01/2017 08:51

Well done to everyone. I am 10 stone today. I thought I might be slightly under (it's always nice to move to the next number down but it was dead on). As I just started I am going to take this as about my starting weight.

Eebahgumlass · 07/01/2017 09:27

Hi, just checking in. Am down to 10 stone 2 so a couple of pounds off since the post Christmas high point! I am feeling good and OK about taking the weight off slowly. I can't low carb either so just sensible eating , 10k steps a day and cutting back on wine. The last is my biggest downfall but I actually am not missing it. None during the week and had 1 small glass of red last night instead of usual 3 glasses of white. I enjoyed it but no desire to have more. Well done everyone. Off out for a run in the drizzle.

Pinkponiesrock · 07/01/2017 10:37

I weighed myself last night and was 10'4 but then got on the scales first thing this morning and was 10'2. Think I'll make Saturday morning weigh in day, give me time to recover from any weekend blips! Can't wait to see it starting with a 9 again on the scales.

DavetheCat2001 · 07/01/2017 10:49

Congrats on all the losses!

I blew the diet a bit last night by ordering a massive curry. OH helpfully forgot to pick up salad on his way home last night, so we both agreed that a curry was the answer! It was lovely but I felt really stuffed afterwards.

Managed to get myself out for a run this morning though and did a couple of brutal hills so feeling a bit better now. I think I was sweating out pure curry fumes...naicce!

I definitely think not drinking is helping. It would be nothing for OH and I to polish off a bottle of red wine with our Friday night curry, so lots of extra calories on top of an already naughty meal!

Off to Sainsburys shortly to stock up on healthy stuff!

FiveShelties · 07/01/2017 10:52

Well done everyone, my weigh is tomorrow. I have not been very good but better than over the last couple of months, so hopefully a small loss will show. Have reduced the rubbish eating but must work on the wine intake though.

NewYearNewNickname · 07/01/2017 15:10

Well done everyone, lots of 2 - 2.5lb losses Grin
I also had a curry last night but it was planned and I felt I had earned it after my HIIT (God it was tough!!) and a 40 length / 1km swim. Back on track today but do have half a bottle of wine left from last night in the fridge which will no doubt be drunk later as I am aiming for no food waste this year Wink

I am joining in.

Weighed this morning and worked out I need to loose a stone. In past I only weighed myself in KG and I think it's more difficult to get my head around how many kg to loose.

I am doing dry Jan. Also cutting down on meat and trying to only eat it on the weekend. And portions.

Current weight 146lbs.

standingonlego · 07/01/2017 15:19

Me! Weight been creeping up, mainly due to work stress linked emotional eating, snacking and wine. Think I am about 9s7lb...want to get to 8.5 by summer.

Do not have scales at home so official "starting" weigh in later this week.

DavetheCat2001 · 07/01/2017 17:24

Looking forward to dinner this evening.

I am doing stir fry teriyaki and sesame prawns and veg with rice noodles..nom.

really wish I could have a glass of wine with it, but I will be staying strong and on the wagon!

Specialagentblond · 07/01/2017 17:36

Hi everybody! I'd like to join. I'm 9st 3 and need to lose about 7lb. I'm 5'2.

It's the final bit that I've been trying to lose for about a year lol. I was a few lb lighter but the cheeseboard happened so here we are. I've got a fancy do coming up so would like to lose as much as I can by 25th Jan. But it's slow going for me so a lb a week is probably as good as it will get for me x

Good luck everybody xxxx

BabySocksNeverStayOn · 07/01/2017 18:00

What a lovely motivating thread... Not weighed myself yet but have been sensible all week, although sadly not staying 'dry' for January as came off wagon last night already Blush. Went for a long walk with smallest dc today, made easier with him playing Pokemon Go on my phone Grin

meatloaf · 07/01/2017 19:45

how often do you think I should do a weigh in?

FiveShelties · 07/01/2017 19:51

meatloaf - I have decided to post my weight loss (hopefully) once a week, although I do admit to being a scale hopper.

thewaitresses · 07/01/2017 19:59

Me! Weight this morning 9st 8lbs. This time last year I was 8st 12lbs and really comfortable at that size. Just polished off double lasagne though Blush

meatloaf · 07/01/2017 20:02

I think I am going to do that as well fiveshelties. I am on the other end, keep forgetting to weigh myself but I've never taken this seriously which is why it's got to a point where I need to drop a few.

hollygoflightly · 07/01/2017 20:18

Guys I can't stop eating. I'm doing dry January and am craving all the booze and all the cake. Am about to make a cup of tea in hope it takes the edge off. Have definitely not lost any weight yet. Help!

Specialagentblond · 07/01/2017 21:13

I hear you holly. I just can't get motivated. Maybe find a distraction?? A hot bath with a cup of green tea, phone a friend. Something to boost you psychologically without having to turn to food?

All your posts are motivating me to step away from the biscuits x

Karcheer · 07/01/2017 22:38

Hello,
Can I join? I'd like to lose just under a stone. Sweets and snacking are my downfall :( tonight for example I've eaten most of a pack of mini snickers :(
I should be able to,eat really healthy this week.
I'm seriously considering only eating m&s healthy meals so I'm not tempted to eat too much or snack :/

PinxTheTinxMinx · 07/01/2017 22:51

Thank you to those suggesting MFP, I've reinstalled the app. I know it's not perfect but it's making me think twice about my food choices. I did eat bread today but I went to my mum's and couldn't face the questions as to why I wasn't eating bread.

Step goal achieved and amazingly I'm not missing the alcohol. Although I'm still in a fuddle about what day it is & it doesn't feel like a Saturday which would be a drinking night for me.

I feel determined and really want to keep updating this thread in a positive way.

Keep up the good work & onwards and upwards downwards Wink

thewaitresses · 08/01/2017 08:59

I've had a mini-baby-bel and a pear for breakfast which is 2WW points. I'm staying with family and my DB just had a bacon sandwich Hmm! DM is doing a chicken roast at lunchtime so my aim is no snacking until then!

simpson · 08/01/2017 10:25

Another one having a roast dinner at lunch time today. I am really looking forward to potatoes as I haven't had any (or bread) all week.

I was naughty yesterday Sad and had a mars bar. But I did do 12, 000 steps.

Not really missing the booze though.

EnormousTiger · 08/01/2017 10:51

thewait, I felt good at 8 stone 12 too. I remember saying I would never get over 9 stone again (and now am 10).... anyway at least I'm not ill. Sibling is very ill. 2 - 4 of the children have a truly dreadful germ (it's just a cold, flu thing but one is already so bad they are on antibiotics) and I am so far in the clear. Nothing is as important as your health.

MissStein · 08/01/2017 11:01

oooh this is the thread for me Grin got down to 10st 4 before xmas but overindulged over xmas and now back to 10 st 9. Trying to get down to 9st 12. I have a mummy tummy overhang bit so im hoping that by getting down to 9st 12 that it will disappear. Or am i in denial? is it impossible to get rid of mummy tummy?

FiveShelties · 08/01/2017 11:04

First weigh in today and I am delighted with a 3 pound loss. That puts me at 10st 3lbs with 7 pounds to go. Out for dinner at the local Indian tonight so I don't suppose that will be a good start for Week 2.Smile
