A thread for those wanting to lose less than a stone

NewYearNewNickname · 01/01/2017 12:20

Hi, I know there are lots of new 2017 threads but thought I'd see if there are others like me with a small amount of weight to lose who want support.
This day last year I weighed 10st 11lbs which is my heaviest ever (I am 165cm / 5ft 5in) My aim then was to be under 10 st which I managed but then spent most of the year bobbing around the 10 st mark, which was fine.
Today I weigh 10st 3lbs. It is TOTM so that always adds a pound or two but my target is to lose 7lbs initially and then perhaps aim for 9 1/2.
Aiming to count calories and exercise as this is what has worked best for me in the past Smile

Hi everyone, I'd love to join - I'd like to shift half a stone to get me back down to 8s6 - I have a figure that shows any kind of weight gain (no boobs, no hips, proper apple shape) but I'm really lazy about exercise so need all the help I can get! Good luck with it to everyone Smile

Kleptronic · 01/01/2017 23:21

I'm like Pinx same stats, 11st 11, 5ft 9, good at under 11 stone, 10 something is better! I got down to 11st 5 on the 23rd Dec doing Low Carb Boot Camp, but it's all gone back on...still at least I know what works!

Eebahgumlass · 02/01/2017 08:46

Hi, I'm in the same boat. 10 stone 3 at 5 foot 5 - want to get down to about 9 stone 6 . I am doing HIIT workouts and using MFP. Feeling motivated but will be trickier to keep that going once back at work tomorrow. Weight seems to come off a lot slower than it used to now I'm in my 40s.

SteadyHand · 02/01/2017 08:59

I'll join! I am 5ft 4lb. Had lost 3.5 stones to get to 9st 1lb before Christmas, but I weighed in yesterday at 9st 4lb.

I've been off work for 2 weeks and have get really unwell, so just eating buffet food and crap because it didn't require any effort...

Now it's time to get back on it, I want to reach 8st 7lb but it seems a very long way off...

singsongsweetly · 02/01/2017 09:03

Oh, please may I join you?
5'9" and 11 stone today. I tipped the scales at almost 12stone in the summer but managed to get down to 10.10 before Christmas.
I'd really like to be 10.6.

I'm cross with myself for overeating and drinking.

Feckinlego · 02/01/2017 09:14

Ooh I'd love to join too. I'm 42 and overweight for the first time in my life. Well bmi is 23. something but I feel disgusting. I'm 9 stone but I'm only 5'1. I was 8 stone this time last year. Stress/ drinking wine has resulted in this extra stone. I started running this summer but it's made no difference to my weight. I don't actually have a plan on how to lose this stone other than eating healthily and doing dry January.

Needmorewine · 02/01/2017 09:17

Ok plan for today :
B : Ham & Cheese omelette
L: smoked mackerel with salad
D: chicken tikka pieces with cauli rice , avocado and more salad !

Lots of water, herbal tea and a couple of black coffees.

Will try & go for a run when it's less icy later !

Whyhellodaffodil · 02/01/2017 10:06

Morning all! Sounds a plan need i'd definitely try and wait til a bit later - I went out for a run at 8:30 this morning and it was so cold that I'm still wheezing an hour an a half later! Brr

Another pound down so now at 10st1 (from 10st7 on 28/12) and low carbing going well.

Anyone doing dry January? I'm tempted to - bar one weekend when we're away. Would help stop the after wine munchies!

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

FishlessCake · 02/01/2017 10:29

I'm in as of today Smile 5ft 3 with a small frame (size 3 feet), weigh 9st 3 want to be 8st 7. I'm vegan and only drink water anyway, I'm planning on 500 cals one day then fasting for 24hrs then eating one big meal of 1000 cals then fasting again 24hrs and repeating. Not sure if that makes sense but it worked for me last year and I lost 5st and have maintained since June. Looking forward to summer and nice dresses.

DrexelG · 02/01/2017 10:35

Hello, can i join too? Weighing in at 11.5 today I'm 5 ft 6in. So way over now. I want to lose a stone and then another stone. I generally weigh about 9.7lbs.

shortsaint · 02/01/2017 12:05

Hello

Can I join too? Massive belly/uncomfortable in jeans issue which is my milestone. I'm 5' 3 and happy at about 10 stone 3 or 4. (Never going to be svelte!) Not sure what I am now because I dread the scales. May attempt later after eating this croissant...

Have completed 3 mile walk in sunshine this am, I'm off alcohol from today and once I am back at work will attempt to not graze (for that read trough every time I go to the kitchen), low carb it etc.

There, said it.

NewYearNewNickname · 02/01/2017 12:37

Yesterday came in at around 1100 cals so very happy with that. Have done a body balance class this morning and only eaten 174 cals so far this morning.
Am hoping to get a good swim or some other form of exercise in today too.

I'm not doing dry January as it is my birthday on Thurs and so will probably have dinner out at the weekend but I will naturally cut down the amount of alcohol as it is just empty calories.
Off to plan the rest of my food now, always easier to stay on track if I have food sorted in advance.
Have a good Tues all

Just had a chicken salad wrap for lunch. God it was tasteless Sad

DavetheCat2001 · 02/01/2017 15:46

I'm in too. This time last year I was 8stone 12, this year I start the year at 9 stone 8! I was a bit on the skinny side..I'm 5ft 7, and ideally would like to be around 9 stone 3.

I'm doing Dry January as I think a lot of my calories come from booze (wine in particular), so looking for a general health-overhaul this month!

Today I have eaten:

Banana for breakfast
Lunch - spicy sweet potato and coconut soup with too much fresh baked baguette and butter (I am a bread and butter fiend)

Dinner is going to be roast chicken with asparagus and broccoli.

I need to try and cut down on the bread a bit. I found last year when I kept carbs like pasta and/or bread to one meal per day, the weight came down.

I'm going back to Greek yogurt and berries for breakfast from tomorrow.

I also managed to get out for a 6km run earlier which was really tough.

PinxTheTinxMinx · 02/01/2017 16:28

I've decided I'm going to attempt dry January, cut out obvious sugar (so no cake, biscuits or chocolate), at least 5 pieces of fruit/veg a day and bread if there's absolutely no alternative.

However, if I slip up I'm not going to beat myself up, I will put it down to a blip and keep going with my 'rules'.

I'm still trying to work out what exercise I'm going to do & when. Although I will aim for 10000 steps everyday 👍

BabySocksNeverStayOn · 02/01/2017 18:18

Two egg omelette with a sprinkling of grated cheese for brekkie, HM soup for lunch and steak in peppercorn sauce with sweet potato chips, leeks and peas for tea. Nice to have some proper food lol

Just scoffed a spag bol with the kids Confused Back to work tomorrow where it will be easier to get a grip on my eating habits! How has everyone else got on? Although my danger time of the evening is still to come...

maggiethemagpie · 02/01/2017 19:02

I'm currently 10st 9lbs and want to be under 10 stone. I did get down to 10st 3 before xmas but 10 days of piggery including going away at new year put paid to that! So I'm hoping some of the weight is water weight.

I'm doing the 'high fat diet' by Zana Morris, counter intuitive but works! Lots of fat, a little protein and limited green veg. Not much else. You do it for two weeks at a time, there is a maintenance programme for inbetween 'bursts' or after. The weight just fell off when I did it before xmas - 10lbs in two weeks. If it hadn't been for christmas I'd have kept it off but I didn't see the point in being good over xmas. So now to get to my goal weight!

FishlessCake · 02/01/2017 19:20

Today's meal was whole meal wrapsx2 with falafel, spring onion, 3 grated carrots, houmous and a whole bag of fresh spinach. Fasting until tomorrow dinner time when I'm going to have a alpro soya big pot with coconut and some homemade lentil soup Smile.

shouldihaveanotherbaby · 02/01/2017 19:27

Oooohh love this! I don't have scales but I reckon I am just over 10st and should be around 9 & half st. Am walking 100k for charity on sept so hopefully my training walks will help me with that 1/2 st!

SingaSong12 · 02/01/2017 19:48

I would like to lose about 10lb maybe 9. Currently 8st 13 but really short so 8st 4 might feel better.
This thread will be good for me if I can make myself come here often enough I'll try even if it's just to support others. My biggest battle is maintenance, but I really should worry about that when I'm at the right weight.

Colourmylife1 · 02/01/2017 19:59

I'd like to join in. I have been eating very badly since Summer and my clothes are getting horribly tight. I don't weigh myself but I reckon I have about 10 -12 lbs to make my clothes comfortable again. I'm 5'3 and I would guess I weigh just under 10st at the moment. My realistic goal weight is around 9st. I'm in my 50s and it's definitely harder to lose weight now. My plan is to do dry January, walk 10k steps and low carb. I would like to lose the weight by my birthday in March.

QueenOfHalloween · 02/01/2017 20:22

Hello, mind if i join you? I've been eating really poorly in the last few months and i've gone into the next stone bracket. I'm only 5ft 2.5 apparently and i when i got weighed last Friday i was over 10 stone. My guess is i'm even heavier as i've not really been watching what i've been eating over the festive period. I'm not really planning on dieting, rather the plan is to eat better, increase my fruit and veg as well as cutting down on portion sizes... And see how i get on. I'm back to work tomorrow and i'm going to do my best to jump back on the wagon.

PinxTheTinxMinx · 02/01/2017 21:14

Ok day one done

10000 steps completed
No alcohol
5 portions of fruit/veg
Fail on the no obvious sugar, as my DS surprised me by making me a hot chocolate and I didn't have the heart not to drink it.
I also failed on the bread, but I only had half a bread roll.

Just watched a food programme on channel four and I've been inspired going to do the 16/8 diet. Only allowed to eat within an 8 hour window, I think that's more than do-able. In fact I did it today by pure chance so that negates out the hot chocolate and bread fail 😇
