I'd like to lose about a stone. So I'm going back to my old system of writing down everything I eat, to make myself more accountable and stop eating random unhealthy stuff that I forget about twenty minutes later. The next few months of cold will be featuring lots of soup, and herbal tea instead of hot chocolate. This method usually works for me, so I need to get back on it.

Ahh well done Jacqueline. Smile Yes DD is much better now thanks - just had a really bad bug and needed to get it out of her system.

Visiting a friend later who has just told me she has made Nutella cupcakes especially for my visit later, so now I don't feel I can refuse one later without causing offence. Bloody awkward this weight loss business is at times. Will just try and be extra good for the rest of the day I think so it balances out.

JacquelineChan · 16/02/2017 15:08

Glad DD is better Kit kat

Let us know how you dodged the cupcakes !

My cousin popped in today , I hadn't seen her for ages , she brought round donuts and sausage rolls arrghhhh
i did have one sausage roll ( counted as my lunch ) but to everything else i said oh they look lovely but i am on a diet , please take them with you and let the kids enjoy them

She understands ( I hope ! )

Hello Mums!
I made the same decision for 2017 years, I want to improve my body shape and weight after pregnancy. I have sagging skin on my tummy and breast and my whole body has changed for the worse :( Blush
I have tried many diets and exercises and it even helped a little, but doesn't solve all my problems... Now I'm looking for some plastic surgery. I found i the internet company Beauty Poland, they offer mommy makeover surgery, which combine several treatments and is dedicated to women after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

beautypoland.com/procedures/mommy-makeover-poland/

I think I will use their services.
Has anyone heard about this, any advice?

Regards,
Maria

Glad you're feeling better Jacqueline and that your dd is better kitkat. Nutella buns sound delicious and very difficult to turn down. A few years ago I made a nutella and Ferraro Rochet cheese cake - about a million calories per slice but it was divine! It is hard turning food down when we're conditioned from such a young age to eat everything in your plate and to reward yourself with food (that's my experience anyway!)

We have no money and a humongous nursery bill to find the money for so we can't afford to actually do anything for my birthday but the dc and I have baked a chocolate cake. It's in the fridge now and I'm ignoring it calling my name. We did lick the bowl clean earlier on though!

JacquelineChan · 16/02/2017 16:05

Happy Birthday Twattery !

Did you know it is a little known fact that all calories are zero on your birthday ? Enjoy !

Nursery bills, tell me about it .

TwatteryFlowers · 17/02/2017 11:26

Thank you. If only they were zero on all the other days as well! I've already had a brioche roll and half a bar of chocolate but I had no breakfast and having no dinner to make room for all the crap I'm going to eat today!

KitKat1985 · 17/02/2017 14:22

Happy birthday Twattery. Cake Hope you have an enjoyable day. Do enjoy the chocolate cake - one day off the wagon won't do any harm and you deserve some nice cake on your birthday!

As for me I ate the Nutella cupcake yesterday (it was as good as it sounded). And I ate some of DH's leftover birthday cake today. I'm really not doing well this past week. Quite cross with myself. Not helped by the fact I seem to have (slightly) caught DD's tummy bug and keep getting stomach cramps and waves of nausea and just can't face fruit or similar right now, as it's just too acidy. I'm so fed up of winter - it's been like one bug after another since January in our house!

I know I'm going to have a gain on the scales tomorrow. Really upset with myself after losing half a stone so far this year to be sliding off the wagon now. Need to get my mojo back!

TwatteryFlowers · 18/02/2017 10:17

Thank you kitkat it was a lovely, quiet day. We still have cake and brioche left over and we'll probably eat it over the next few days but in not going to get cross with myself for enjoying celebrations - if this is a change that's going to last forever I need to be able to cut myself some slack or else I'll really struggle.

It's difficult to stay focused on eating healthily when you're ill and craving comfort food. Look after yourself and focus on recovering from your bug and then get back on it. A few pounds isn't going to make much difference. FlowersBrew

thesockgap · 18/02/2017 14:54

Feeling a bit fed up today. I treated myself to new WW scales - you know, the all-singing, all dancing ones that show your BMI, body fat etc - 10 days ago I was 11st9lb on my old scales. 3 days ago I'd gained almost half a pound. Today on the new scales I'm apparently 11st 11.5 lb so 2lb heavier than I'd thought. It doesn't sound much, but psychologically it's massive - I'd thought I was edging towards 11 1/2 stone but this has put me back closer to 12! Honestly I could cry. It's taking every shred of willpower I have, not to throw the towel in and drown my sorrows in crisps!!!!!

TwatteryFlowers · 18/02/2017 16:44

Test the scales sock by weighing something that you already know the weight of and see which are the most accurate. It is shit though and those really little setbacks can feel like massive, insurmountable hurdles. Flowers

HandsomeDevil · 20/02/2017 08:27

morning people
no loss this week. I've been self-medicating for a painful period with chocolate, and have had two meals out over the weekend to catch up with old friends.

I'm also on holiday in a couple of days, so this week's goal is to maintain, and then back on the diet proper next week. Slow and steady winds the race, right? At this pace I can still lose 2st by the time I have to wear a bikini in public Grin.

On the plus side i noticed a typo in my last "total loss" figure so can happily correct that:

start weigh 12st 4
this week's loss 0lb
current weight 11st 8
total loss 10lb.

KitKat1985 · 20/02/2017 10:03

Sock did you check your weight on the old scales too?

Handsome I hope you have a lovely holiday. I always take a 'diet break' when I go on holiday too. It's important to let yourself properly relax sometimes.

Not the best weekend here. The past week and a half hasn't been great. By some miracle I had pretty much stayed the same on Saturday's weigh in (actually I had lost quarter of a pound, much to my surprise) but I really want to get back on track this week. Although I do have a Christening on Sunday which may involve cake.

TwatteryFlowers · 20/02/2017 16:51

The last time I wrote my weight I was 9st 2.4. This morning I was 9st 0.4 so a loss of 2lb. I would love to get to around 8st 7 - this would put me in the middle of my healthy bmi but if that doesn't happen I'm happy with my weight as it is.

thesockgap · 20/02/2017 17:09

KitKat yes I did get weighed on the old scales too, just to check - I was the same weight on Saturday that I'd been on Wednesday on them. So either they're measuring 2lbs under, or the brand new ones are measuring 2lbs over. :(

Well done Twattery that's fab. I'm aiming for 9st initially as I know I look fine at that weight, but the BMI calculator I used is telling me to aim for 8st 7lb too!

TwatteryFlowers · 20/02/2017 17:31

Thank you sock - we must be a similar height!
Get something that you know the weight of, like one of those actual metal weights, and weigh out with your new and old scales. Stick with whichever is the most accurate. Hopefully it's your old ones Smile

thesockgap · 20/02/2017 20:39

I'll have to dig something out to weigh against and see which ones are giving the correct reading!
(And I'm 5' 2"!!)

KitKat1985 · 21/02/2017 10:02

Congrats on the loss Twattery!

Did you manage to find something to weigh thesockgap?

Interesting talk about goal weights. I'm 5'5 and aiming for 10 stone. I think that would make my BMI about 23 which I would be happy with. I have been slimmer than that before but I'm naturally quite curvy and much less than 10 stone my boobs just deflate etc(!) and I want to aim for a weight that's healthy but realistic to maintain.

JacquelineChan · 21/02/2017 12:16

Hi All
Sock Gap, the scales are no friend to me either ! Every time I weigh myself they stay the same , even though i have been dieting and exercising. My clothes are looser and I can even go up to the next hole on my belt. If you are noticing weight loss in other ways then ditch the scales , seriously they are demoralising at times !

I had a weekend break to Amsterdam and ate so much rubbish but yesterday and today been really good food wise. I have not had any time for exercising except for walking. I have to go on a business trip to NYC tomorrow until sat - the jet lag and long haul flights will cause me to comfort eat i know it . But as someone said further up the thread , it's a long term lifestyle over haul so there will be times like this , the most important thing is to get back on it

Teenspov · 21/02/2017 14:28

Weighed myself yesterday, gained 2lb this time, but lost an inch off my waist. Need to get back on it! Did just have a weekend in London and didn't really stick to diet in the week, so hopefully I'll be back on track soon.

thesockgap · 21/02/2017 19:15

Not found anything inanimate to weigh yet!! I tried with a bag of sugar but it was too small to register.
When I buy a big bag of potatoes at the weekend I'll try with that!

TwatteryFlowers · 22/02/2017 07:20

It's so odd, others are losing inches but not weight and I'm losing weight but not inches Confused

I'm now 9st 0.0 but my waist is still 29" and my boobs are 36". It's only my hips that have gone down - they're now 35". I look different - people have commented that I look thinner and even dh, who obviously sees me every day, says my belly has shrunk. My caeserean overhang is smaller so you can actually see my scar now and I can fit into my old size 10 New Look jeans that 6 months ago I couldn't even get over my backside. I can see that body has changed but the measurements are the same. I really don't understand it.

TwatteryFlowers · 22/02/2017 07:21

I can see that my body has changed...

KitKat1985 · 23/02/2017 12:06

That is odd Twattery. Congrats on getting in to the size 10 jeans though!

Jacqueline hope you have a good trip. I agree that a few days off the wagon won't do any harm, and it's hard when you're jet lagged and your meal routine is completely thrown to stick to a diet.

TeensPov, again just chalk it up as a bad few daysand get back on it when you feel ready.

Thesockgap - can you try and weigh yourself on a third set of scales. Say at someone else's house?

So far I'm having a much better week. Sneaky pre weigh-in hop on the scales this morning suggests I've lost a couple of lbs this week, but I'll wait until my official weigh-in day on Saturday to record it!

I wonder what the deleted message was and why would someone troll on a weight-loss board? Confused

Anyway, glad you're having a better week kitkat.

Teenspov, an inch off is great, well done! The couple of pounds gain could be down to rubbish food buff it could also be water - if you've eaten a lot of salty food or are at a funny point in your cycle then that could cause you to retain a bit of water and therefore affect your weight. Ultimately it's the change in your shape and your measurements that area a better gauge of your progress.
