I'd like to lose about a stone. So I'm going back to my old system of writing down everything I eat, to make myself more accountable and stop eating random unhealthy stuff that I forget about twenty minutes later. The next few months of cold will be featuring lots of soup, and herbal tea instead of hot chocolate. This method usually works for me, so I need to get back on it.

I'm 2 stone above my university weight but I'd be happy with 1st loss.
I've just joined SW (and immediately put on 2lbs 😔).
So. I signed up for a 10k on 29 January.
Is it the wine speaking??

Ledkr · 25/12/2016 20:55

I'll join you.
Not for a few days yet though!
I was getting good results by having a healthy breakfast and soup for lunch (although that was a waste of time as I've eaten like a pig today) Grin

tectonicplates · 25/12/2016 21:03

Ledkr, Christmas Day doesn't count! I'm sure hardly anyone has eaten healthily today! I won't be starting until January either.

This thread is going to disappear after 90 days isn't it?

hibouhibou · 25/12/2016 21:06

Would be nice if it was moved somewhere permanent

calzone · 25/12/2016 21:08

1 stone and 1/2 off by Easter for me.

Going back to Slimming World.

chocolatespiders · 25/12/2016 21:09

I am in, I am fed up of avoiding social situations due to the way I feel about myself!!!
3-4 stone needs to be banished for good.

CancellyMcChequeface · 25/12/2016 21:16

I'd like to lose two stone! I'm giving myself today and tomorrow to enjoy the Christmas food, and then I'm going to cut out all sugar that isn't fruit, and most carbs and processed foods. My birthday is mid-March so it'd be nice to have at least some of the weight shifted by then.

CurlsandCurves · 25/12/2016 21:17

Absolutely. I've got 5-6 stone to lose. I've been messing around for too long and it's getting to the pint where it's really affecting my health.
Never felt so fecking shit.

MargoChanning · 25/12/2016 21:19

I'm in. I have four stone to lose in 2017 in order to start IVF. I have a frozen embryo I want to try for (left over from a successful IVF five years ago) but I've been told by my fertility clinic that I need to get to at least 15 stone to get to their maximum bmi limit. It's a matter of urgency as I'm now 37 years old and time is not on my side. I also have a binge eating disorder, hence why I'm now 19 stone. Every year I swear I will lose weight. And every damn year I get bigger and bigger, to the point now where I have back pain and frequent heartburn as a result of my obesity. Well not anymore! 2017 is going to be the year where I lose weight, overcome my eating disorder and get pregnant with my much wanted second child.

Op, any chance you can ask HQ to move this thread from chat to the weight loss section so we can continue the thread throughout the year? And thank you for starting this thread. Good luck to you and everyone else aiming to lose weight Smile

MyGastIsFlabbered · 25/12/2016 21:43

I'm in, need to shift at least 2 stone

Tessticklesyourfancy · 25/12/2016 22:29

Me too. My weight has crept up over the last four years. I'll be fifty in June and could do with dropping three stone. That's a hell of a lot to get shut of Xmas Blush

IhatchedaSnorlax · 26/12/2016 00:04

Is there a good app to use to record weight loss & foods etc?

FroodGloriousFrood · 26/12/2016 00:20

Oh can I join please?! I'd like to lose 2 stone, first aim is 1 stone by April... Although don't think I'll get going till Jan 1st

Illstartexercisingtomorrow · 26/12/2016 00:24

Hello I'm in.

But am I literally the only one not doing this by weight? I'm using a tape measure instead for accuracy.

Illstartexercisingtomorrow · 26/12/2016 00:25

Oh and on that note - I have to lose 4.5 inches off my abdomen. I think the first 3 are doable then I'll struggle

GandolfBold · 26/12/2016 00:27

Count me in. I want to lose 2 stone to get me down to 10. I have put 1.5 on this year and would like to take it back off and a bit more.

TwatteryFlowers · 26/12/2016 00:27

I'm in. From July to December I lost almost 2st just by logging everything I eat on mfp but this last couple of weeks I've fallen off the wagon massively. I haven't weighed myself properly yet but I'm thinking that I've gained a few pounds. I know that as part of the big picture it's not much but it is a set back and I don't want to completely lose momentum and regain the whole lot for the third time. Ideally I'd like to lose another stone and keep it off. My sister, as part of a joke but also as part of a dig at me, said today that I'm a right greedy cow. I'm not but I do have a very sweet tooth and find it hard to resist at times.

Potkettleblack2 · 26/12/2016 00:32

I'm in. I have a stone to lose, and clothes I need to fit back into. My vices are chocolate and wine. Next Christmas I don't want to hate how I look in the Christmas photos!

DramaAlpaca · 26/12/2016 00:32

I'm in too. I'm carrying about three stone more than I want, and this is the year I'm determined to shift it.

PaperdollCartoon · 26/12/2016 00:34

In. About 2st I'd like to lose, but a stone is a good start. I'm 30 at the end of 2017 so it feels like a watershed year. I already eat 99% plant based, but I'm giving up booze for the first 10 weeks and and calorie counting around my BMR and activity level. Committing to 2 gym sessons and 2 yoga classes a week, this is doable around work if I plan.

SmellyFartado · 26/12/2016 00:37

I'm in. Not starting until New Year though.

AGBforever · 26/12/2016 00:54

Me too! At least a stone but ideally one and a half.. I'd nearly lost my baby weight then put it all back on somehow. Baby is 2 next week so no excuse Blush

NameChanger22 · 26/12/2016 01:02

I need to loose some weight. I don't have a specific goal in mind as I don't weigh myself. I just want to look and feel better and stop eating junk food, I probably need to loose 2 stone realistically.

I'm thinking of giving up carbs because I find that easiest to stick to. The problem is what to drink?? I love tea with sugar and milk and I can't stomach sweeteners.

I'm starting 1st January so I have time to eat the Christmas chocolate before then.

MooMooTheFirst · 26/12/2016 01:03

ihatched have you tried myfitnesspal? I used it a few years ago... you put in the food you eat and it counts the calories and other stuff. You can scan barcodes with the app on your phone and create recipes as well and sync it to (some) exercise apps!

I'm in too. I have a 7 month old DS, put three stone on during pregnancy and lost two instantly, but this last stone is proving hard to lose. DS has had a rough couple of months in terms of sleeping and DP recently had huge mental health problems so I've been comfort eating and not exercising but I've signed up to the gym and a half marathon st the beginning of March...
