That sounds like a good plan GoodQueen. It's really discouraging going over. There is a calculator that I find quite useful here. It shows you how much you should weigh each week. If you put in 1200 calories and then put in 1400 calories it doesn't slow things down by that much. It helped me see that going over sometimes doesn't make that much difference.

I finally ordered some PB2 so I'm looking forward to that tomorrow. I have been keeping my carbs and salt low all week but today have gone a bit carb/salt mad so I predict the scale is going to jump up massively tomorrow. It was worth it though Grin

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 18/11/2016 19:37

Well after my good intentions of upping my limit to 1400 and sticking to that, I went mad this evening and have eaten loads Blush my poor excuse is that I've been so cold since finishing work mid afternoon (I work outdoors so been out in the icy wind) that I've just wanted to eat everything in sight to try and warm me up.

See this is my problem... every single day I wake up and tell myself "today I will be good" or "today I will resist temptation" and yet every single day I find an excuse to justify having something I shouldn't. Then that little something makes me feel like I've failed, so I'm might as well go the whole hog and eat loads more crap. I know I do it. I hate myself for doing it. I hate how fat and uncomfortable my stomach is; and how big my thighs are. And I hate how I look and feel in my clothes. So why the eff can't I pull myself together and get some goddam willpower to get out of this vicious circle? I am so annoyed with myself and full of self loathing right now Angry

Bibs2014 · 18/11/2016 19:47

Goodqueen - I've overeaten today too - it's the cold, it makes me want to eat!

I had a cereal bar for breakfast and then a skinny hot chocolate whilst waiting at the doctors. Lunch was a subway salad and a bag of sunbites. I then came home and had fishfingers in a brown roll then a sausage roll from the bakery Blush.

Having chilli and rice for dinner. I usually have salad on the side but it's too cold!!

comeagainforbigfudge · 18/11/2016 21:26

Good plan goodqueen

Ive decided to write this week off entirely. All ive done is eat eat eat and have a wedding tomorrow so more food and drink

Will still weigh myself on sunday but expect i will have put weight on again sadly. Will start again on monday but will have a meal plan done for the week, which should help.

Have a good weekend everyone Smile

happypoobum · 18/11/2016 21:58

ARRRGGGHHH! I overate yesterday. Went out with DD and it was so busy (central London) we couldn't get in anywhere we wanted and ended up in a very nice restaurant but they did upmarket ribs and burgers.

I didn't have any dessert but am pretty sure I will have undone all the good work I did earlier in the week. I guess the proof will be on the scales on Sunday..........

FireflyGirl · 18/11/2016 22:54

I'm another who has been driven to eating today Sad

I actually went out to the shop and bought a sharing pack of Twirl bites. Luckily, they don't taste as nice as they used to, so I actually didn't eat that many. That's really good going for me, though; usually I would have eaten the full bag regardless.

Came in under my allowance, but too many calories wasted on chocolate today.

There's no point blaming ourselves, or feeling bad about it.

Changing your allowance is a good idea, Wench. Please don't feel bad - you wouldn't say that to anyone else, so we're not going to let you say it about yourself Flowers

Starting over on Monday is a good idea, comeagain. Enjoy the wedding Smile

That sounds a lovely lunch, happy. I hope you managed to enjoy it.

Bit of a long list today:
B: sweet chilli thins
L: stuffed peppers with feta, with mixed salad
T: chili with rice (snap Bibs Grin)
Snacks: 1/2 cereal bar, 2 oatcakes, 5 mini Daim bars, 1/3 sharing bag of Twirl bites.

AteRiri · 19/11/2016 07:02

Hi everyone!

AteRiri · 19/11/2016 07:03

I cheated yesterday.

Anyway will weigh on Monday :)

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 19/11/2016 08:51

Good morning, it's flipping cold here, really hard frost. This week hasn't been too bad, both fast days went ok. Shall weigh Sunday and hope to have lost a bit of weight. About to make breakfast, scrambled egg, black beans and cheese, very filling and will get me through to dinner.
Wench upping your calories is a good idea, 1200 every days is really difficult and doesn't give you any wiggle room. I know it's disheartening when you think you've failed again, I've been there, for me at some point the will power did eventually outgun my eating habits, I also stopped buying the snacks - it's difficult if there are others in the house but if they want it they have to go out and buy it themselves!

Bibs2014 · 19/11/2016 09:33

Morning all!

After my huge chilli and rice I had chopped apple and pear so ended well.

Have had porridge this morning. Determined to stick with it this weekend!!

FireflyGirl · 19/11/2016 11:02

As long as you stayed in control, Ate, and don't lose momentum, there's nothing wrong with going a bit off plan.

Glad to hear you're still going strong Loki. Your breakfast sounds yummy Smile.

Wench, Loki makes a good point about not having snacks in. Sometimes, for me at least and particularly when it's tiredness, cravings are overcome by the simple expedient of not being arsed to go to the (very local) shop to buy something.

After yesterday, I needed something to keep me on the straight and narrow. There's a few things this morning that have cheered me up:
1 - after nearly 2 years, I can finally get my wedding ring back on without it cutting off the circulation in my finger! DS was a honeymoon baby, and my hands swelled even quicker than the rest of me! I only wore it for 5 months before I had to take it off, so I'm really excited about this and it's so pretty and sparkly.
2 - I did a Zumba class, and MFP tells me that I've burned nearly 600 cals! I'm taking that with a pinch of salt, and have no plans to eat them back, but it made me feel a bit better. Anyway, it says that if I carry on as I am, I will have lost a stone by Christmas!
3 - I jumped on the scales at the gym early (again, I know), and have lost nearly 2lb this week, bringing my total loss in 3 weeks to 6.5lb! That is incredible for me!

A lot of that is down to the support I'm getting on here, so I wanted to say a big thank you to you all. We can do this!

AdoraBell · 19/11/2016 11:24

Good Queen do you eat porridge? I find even a small bowl of hot porridge keeps me feeling warm for hours. Maybe you could try that, or soup if you don't fancy porridge mid afternoon.

Have woken up with no appetite today so just coffee consumed so far. Thanks for linking to that calculator Ice3

T'is bloody cold here as well today.

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 19/11/2016 11:56

Adora I do eat porridge... that's what I've been having for breakfast lately. Have also started to not mind it made with water rather than milk, and without the honey too so I'm saving some calories there. I had it for breakfast today with a banana sliced in.

No snacks this morning and I'm starving so having lunch early ... country vegetable soup. Not really what I fancy but at least it's warming me up! MFP tells me I've got nearly 800 calories left for today so feeling quite happy about that .. not sure what tea will be yet though.

What does everyone find is the best low cal but filling snack?

Ice3 · 19/11/2016 11:56

My PB2 arrived! I am in in peanut heaven. I wasn't sure what it would be like but it is so good. If anyone likes peanut butter I recommend trying it. It's powdered peanut butter that you can eat out the jar mix with water to make normal peanut butter without the oil so two tablespoons is 45 calories and 5g of protein vs ~200cal for the normal stuff.

FireflyGirl · 19/11/2016 14:08

I meant to ask you about that the other day, Ice. What sort of recipes do you use it for? All I can think of is PB on toast, and that's not something I eat very often.

I give it to DS on Apple slices, but again it's not something I eat myself very often.

Ice3 · 19/11/2016 14:54

Ah I love peanut butter and ketchup sandwiches so it's great news for me.

I'm going to do some baking this week too and make peanut butter/chocolate brownies and peanut butter and chocolate muffins. I'm going to try PB pancakes.

Apparently its good for Thai style food too like salads and noodles so I'm going to look for recipes that aren't all cake.

FireflyGirl · 19/11/2016 15:09

Ooh, peanut butter noodles sounds great!

Don't know if I can justify spending that much on peanut butter at the moment, though, as I'm not working.

Just to clarify - do you eat peanut butter and ketchup in the same sandwich?

OP posts:
Ice3 · 19/11/2016 15:35

Ha! Yes together in the same sandwich. It's also good on toast.

It is expensive. The price is what put me off for years. I only gave in because it was my last day of Amazon Prime.

metoo22 · 19/11/2016 16:02

Hi I posted on the old thread that I fell off the wagon last weekend, sort of planned as I was away but then haven't managed to get myself back on track this week. So as of today, am really going too try again. Well done to everyone showing more willpower than me. Upsy1981 how are you doing?
I started at 10 st 11, last few days fluctuating 10.8/10.9

MillieMoodle · 19/11/2016 18:11

Hi all

Yesterday was a bit of an off the wagon day for me too - I had fish and chips for dinner. I'm blaming the weather.

Today I've had actimel, tea and cornflakes (without sugar) for breakfast, corned beef rolls for lunch, with pombear snowmen, a tomato and then a doughnut. I should really have only had one roll but I was so hungry and had a headache so I had two. They were nice though. Have also had two lebkuchen. We went to Lidl and I bought a huge bag but I've decided they've got to last me til Christmas.

Not sure what we'll be having for dinner but MFP tells me I've only got about 300 cals left so I'll be over today as well Blush

Wench, don't be disheartened. You can do this! Good idea to adjust your allowed calories on MFP, 1400 sounds more realistic, especially for a long term thing. I've not lost anything yet this week, even though I've been more active this week than I was last week. I still can't get my wedding ring back on Sad I'll be happy if I can get it back on by Christmas. Was it you who has an exercise bike? Ours is in the garage but I'm going to get DH to bring it in tomorrow and I'm going to start using it every day and try to up the distance I do. If it is you with the bike, we'll have to do the same distance each day!

MillieMoodle · 19/11/2016 18:14

Oh my life I've just looked up the Lebkuchen on MFP - 107 calories PER BISCUIT!! Shock that'd be why they taste so good then...

AdoraBell · 19/11/2016 18:34

Yep Millie them calories are lush Grin

Not a good day here, so far. Breakfast, at 1pm, cheese and oatcakes, 4 of them. No lunch but had cheesecake and a flat white. Cut the biscuit base off the cheesecake as gluten gives me jip, followed by a Cadbury's Caramel bar. Dinner will be minced beef, veg and rice. Currently having a licourice tea.

My DD likes peanut butter sandwiches with thinly sliced apple in them. I can't eat the stuff.

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 19/11/2016 19:26

Hi Millie .. yes I do have an exercise bike ... gathering dust in the corner Blush my main excuse difficulty with exercise is the only time I can definitely do it is after the dcs have done to bed and I'm too knackered by then to do anything. Guess I need to somehow fit it in after I've dropped them off at school. I've cycled to and from work yesterday and today anyway so that's my exercise for these 2 days. Good idea for us to try and do the same on the exercise bike. Maybe that would encourage me to actually do it. What distance/time do you think we could aim for?

I think for the first time ever I am going to more or less be on target with my calories - or less than 50 over which is a miracle. Thing is I have been so hungry all day so I don't hold out much hope of being able to keep it up!

Not looking forward to weighing tomorrow morning Confused

MillieMoodle · 19/11/2016 19:38

PANIC OVER! I've checked the Lebkuchen bag and it's actually 87 cals per 2 biscuits. Phew! MFP lies!

Wench not sure about distance - I'm really unfit so probably will start with 5k or something? Last time I went through my exercise bike phase I got up to 20k a night quite quickly. I've PM'd you my MFP username so you can add me if you want to! I think I'm more likely to stick to cycling every night if someone else has to do it too!
