Thanks for the kick up the butt Smell! I know I need to keep pushing through, I am making myself healthier and fitter, regardless of what the scales say!

My main problem is is I still think I'm 18, and at 28 I know I'm still young, but a decade later my body does not respond to diet and exercise in the same way!

SmellTheGlove · 10/03/2017 13:34

Pah, 28???! Try 44! I have the metabolism of a slug Wink.

Flashinthepan · 10/03/2017 17:10

Haha sorry! I just feel like I used to look at celery and lose weight, now my body seems desperate to hold onto any fat it can! Which is too much!

Bibs2014 · 11/03/2017 10:26

Flash I'm another decade older than you and it slows down even more!

happypoobum · 11/03/2017 11:07

Weighed in and haven'y lost anything so still 11.13 which although it's still a stone lighter than when we originally started in November is a disappointment.

I think I have been over eating and drinking whilst waiting for results (had suspected brain tumour) but now I have had the all clear I need to see it as a green light to forge ahead. It's hard to explain but I kept thinking what's the point of denying myself if I am going to be dead in six weeks or sick from the treatment etc etc. Sorry to be so morbid.

So now they think it's anxiety/stress and the tablets I have been given allegedly have weight loss listed as a possible side effect - hooray! I bet I still manage to be the 1 in 10,000 who actually gains weight though Grin wench keep up the mindfulness and positive affirmations. I am trying the same and it does help, even if it's just a few minutes a day.

Seeded toast for breakfast. Meeting a friend for lunch but will just have a jacket spud and WW ready meal for dinner. No booze due to new meds.

Keep going everyone.

Notsoskinnyminny · 11/03/2017 11:58

Sorry for being awol, tripped over and broke my phone and didn't want to post on a loaner phone in case I didn't delete everything properly.

Food intake's been eratic but I'm back to 9st 4. I've upped my intake to 1500/day as when I complete my MFP entry it predicts a lower weight than if I stick to 1200 although its been saying I'll be 118lbs in 5 wks time since November when I eat 1500 it says I'll be 116 - I wish Grin

wench I can vouch for betablockers as well. I'm back on them temporarily due to an ongoing work issue but I need to remind myself I've got my manager's support and the other person is a loon because I know I can't take them long term but the waiting for them to formalise their complaint or withdraw the allegation is starting to get to me. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells every day as everything I say/do is being, and has been, logged.

happy you must've been worried sick and I'd have thought the same way as you re food etc. Glad you got the all clear.

millie can't believe you've got another cold - you need a good tonic

flash what I wouldn't give to be 28 again, so many things I'd do differently

triangular the big day's getting closer, hope your plans are all coming together

firefly hope you're ok

big waves to bibs and everyone else.

I'm still maintaining which beats gaining I suppose. I was 14st 4 when we decided to get married in October so getting to 13st isn't so bad. I still want to get to 11.5 this year so after the wedding and post- wedding shenanigans are over I will try and have a health kick and eat properly. I'm currently making a massive chocolate cake (bottom tier of wedding cake) and I'm not eating half as much of the mixture as I usually would Wink

Wenchelda · 12/03/2017 08:50

9st 11 this morning so a measly quarter of a lb down from last week. Disappointing but at least it's still creeping slowly in the right direction. Still struggling with sticking to my allowance - jeez, I can't use the excuse of Christmas anymore, can I? Hmm I definitely was much more in the swing of it before Xmas than anytime since.

I'm thinking of upping my MFP calories from 1400 to 1500. I know that will mean a much slower loss but it's at a snails pace as it is and maybe that extra 100 cals will give me enough wiggle room to keep under my allowance and stop the "sod it, I'm already over so let's eat more crap" attitude. I will try it this week and see if it helps.

Good luck anyone else weighing today x

SmellTheGlove · 12/03/2017 16:35

wench I've done that for exactly the same reason - put mine up to 1450 which is in between what mfp reckons would be either a pound off a week (1330) and half a pound off a week (1580). It isn't much but it feels manageable and I'm not thinking ah fuck it at 4pm when I realise I only have 500 or so cals left for the day. I've just eaten big roast lunch but healthy version with mash rather than roast pots and loads of veggies, so hopefully not too bad. 11.9 and a quarter this morning hoping to still be under 11.10 tomorrow!

SmellTheGlove · 12/03/2017 16:39

triangular you've done brilliantly losing that much since October ! Well done. I actually tried on my wedding dress today for the first time since I got married nearly 10 years ago. I'm actually about half a stone less than I was then, having put on loads after I had my son and taking shed loads of medication for ante and post natal depression. I'd forgotten how nice my dress was actually! My DH went a bit soppy seeing me in it again which was nice!

MillieMoodle · 12/03/2017 18:11

Sorry have been AWOL, we went away for DS1s birthday this weekend so haven't been very good at all the last couple of days. We went to Legoland and must have walked miles but I forgot to take my UP band with me so don't know what my steps were! Aargh!

Back on it properly from tomorrow. Haven't weighed myself for the last few days but can't imagine I've lost any weight!

Bibs2014 · 12/03/2017 21:41

I wish I was 9st 11, Wench! Another weekend off plan, so hard to stick to with toddler around!

Lapinlapin · 13/03/2017 10:00

Millie was LEGOLAND good? Have often wondered whether to take my 2.
So frustrating when you don't track steps. Feels like wasted effort, even though it isn't of course!

I'm still sticking to my no sugar diet and feeling better for it. I miss all my usual treats but I don't crave then the same way which is good.

Frustratingly the numbers seem to be going the wrong way on the scales at the moment. I'm definitely eating less, but I find I'm getting really varied results every time I stand on the scales. Will wait until Wednesday for my proper weigh in this week, but I don't hold out much hope for a great loss this week.

triangular wedding cakes sounds lovely. Can you lost a picture when you've finished it? - just so I can torment myself further!

MillieMoodle · 13/03/2017 11:29

Lapin we weren't impressed to be honest. We only managed 3 rides on Saturday and 2 on Sunday (although we left around lunchtime as we'd had enough). It was really badly organised; not enough staff which meant it took forever to get people on and off rides. Having looked at their Facebook page, a lot of people who visited over the weekend weren't happy either so maybe they just had a bad weekend this weekend. Wouldn't bother going back though. DS2 and I have both come back with a stomach bug too (although think that was probably the hotel pool) so feeling pretty miserable and ripped off!

Bibs2014 · 13/03/2017 11:50

I caved on my no Lent and had chocolate on Saturday - tasted sooooooooooo good!

Ice3 · 13/03/2017 13:21

I'm 149.6 again. I need to deal with my mood and sleeping pattern before I can make progress with my diet I think, so my goal this week is to be awake at a reasonable time and go for a walk everyday. Working from home at night can really screw with your body clock which knocks onto everything.

Has anyone done Race For Life? I would really like to do it this year and there is one in June. Need to crack on with c25k very soon though!

MillieMoodle · 15/03/2017 07:26

Sorry for going AWOL again. DS1 was admitted to hospital on Monday night as he couldn't keep anything down. So now all 4 of us have had the same bug. Fortunately we all seem to be on the mend now and DS1 was allowed out of hospital last night. Despite having not eaten since Sunday night, apart from some bread and butter last night and a bag of crisps yesterday, and despite having had some pretty horrific toilet episodes (sorry, am trying to be as delicate as possible!), as of last night I had only lost 1lb. ONE MEASLY POUND!! I was expecting at least 3-4 lbs to be gone! I thought there would be a silver lining to this awful couple of days!

Bibs2014 · 15/03/2017 08:22

Hope you all feel better soon, Millie, that sounds horrific!

MillieMoodle · 15/03/2017 08:50

Thanks bibs, we're feeling a lot better today. I think we're all over the worst of it, although poor DS2 is teething as well so he's very fed up. At least it has spurred me on to get the house clean and tidy. Everything is being washed and/or bleached so the house should be lovely by the weekend!

Lapinlapin · 15/03/2017 10:05

On no, Millie that sounds horrific!
Glad you're all feeling better, but I agree that 1lb isn't a fair reward for all you've been through.

Thanks for the LEGOLAND tips by the way - think we'll give it a miss.

Feeling really frustrated this week. Have been really good with my no sugar thing, and somehow I've put on 3 lb! Not sure how that's even possible! I've eaten way less than normal, as my usual meals haven't changed, and the no sugar means I've cut out all snacks and puddings.

I was hoping for a 3lb loss, not gain! I don't think I've ever put on that much, no matter what I eat. I just don't get it.

Starting to blame the scales, or is that the way madness lies?!

I do think they are a bit inaccurate, but perhaps not to that extent? They have tiny feet on the bottom, and one of the rubber bits has come off one. Also I weighed first thing and got that 3lb gain result, tried again an hour and a half laster, and it had gone up to 4lb! Hadn't eaten or drunk anything in between. Can that be right or am I just clutching at straws...?

Lapinlapin · 15/03/2017 10:09

Meant to also say, Ice I've done Race for Life and it was brilliant. It's what got me into running. Definitely do C25K and sign up! Signing up for races is the only thing that makes me train!
Also consider parkrun. It's free and there are loads all over the country. you don't need to be a good runner. You don't even need to run (plenty end up walking)-_I've seen all abilities, ages, sizes and it's really friendly and supportive.

MillieMoodle · 15/03/2017 11:47

Just noticed we are getting near the thread limit, can someone please start a new thread and link to it?! I have no idea to link. I use the app on my phone so not even sure if it's possible! Grin
