Also, if you get a lot of physical anxiety symptoms such as shaking, feeling sick etc propalanol (beta blocker) is really great. Not addictive, can be taken as and when you need it. Made a huge difference to me when my anxiety was really debilitating. I only took it for a few months.

Wenchelda · 05/03/2017 07:37

The physical anxiety symptoms are the worst I think smell, as I convince myself that they are not due to anxiety but are actually symptoms of some terrible disease. I've not heard of propalenol but I will definitely ask my gp for some if/when I have another episode like this. The last few days have been pretty horrendous but thankfully I feel more or less back to normal today. It's been a rollercoaster of a week and I haven't been monitoring what I'm eating so have probably been way over my calories each day, however I am down just over a lb this morning to 9st 11.25; probably due to all the anxiety and worry.

I am on my exercise bike right now - might not make the 5k but to start with I am aiming for 3k and will carry on a bit if I feel ok.

Good luck to everyone else weighing today and again, thank you so much for all your messages of support this week. Although you are all strangers on the internet, it really has helped to know you were thinking of me Flowers

MillieMoodle · 05/03/2017 08:06

Yesterday was not too bad. Prawn rolls for lunch, but did have a bag of crisps and a doughnut as well. Chicken curry for dinner. No chocolate but did have some vanilla creme wafer rolls which I discovered in Lidl and which are amazing. They're like the Milky Way magic roll things but without the chocolate.

Going to get back on the bike this morning, I'm finding that it's so easy to slip off the wagon when I'm not seeing results straight away. Hopefully going on the bike every day will help me see results a little bit quicker which will spur me on!

Wench Flowers glad to hear you are feeling a little bit better. Am thinking of you and sending virtual hugs. I will get back on the bike today so we have to spur each other on. You have been brilliant at it and I have been crap but I am starting afresh today!

MillieMoodle · 05/03/2017 09:42

5k on the bike - done!

Bibs2014 · 05/03/2017 17:47

I've got a stinking cold - be back when I'm feeling better.

Wenchelda · 05/03/2017 19:21

Well done on the bike Millie. I was only aiming for 3k but ended up doing the whole 5k and really felt so much better for it. However after a few days of feeling a nervous wreck, I've completely overloaded on the carbs and comfort food today. I didn't realise how hungry I was. I'm just so glad to not be feeling as terribly anxious as I have been, that I just ate whatever I fancied in a bid to be kind to myself. Will try harder from tomorrow x

triangularchocolate · 06/03/2017 08:00

I'm a pound up - 13st 1 Blush no TOTM excuse this week, and final dress fitting tomorrow. Oh well..!
Wench happy to hear you're coming out of the other side. It's a sunny morning here so hope you all have a lovely day!

SmellTheGlove · 06/03/2017 12:58

I was very good yesterday but then as there wasn't an immediate drop on the scales I have thought 'fuck it' today and eaten a whole packet of biscuits. Brilliant. Herein lies my problem...

Ice3 · 06/03/2017 23:13

I didn't even weigh in yesterday Sad.

Losing weight was my 'thing' for a while. I go through phases of almost obsession with hobbies/interests and then once I stop I rarely go back to them. I had to stop in January because of shitty life circumstances and I'm pretty pissed off at myself.

I know how to do it because I was doing it. It just feels impossible and pointless right now. Sorry for the negative post.

Bibs2014 · 07/03/2017 09:57

I'm back and feeling better! Have started the day with a spinach, tomato and onion omelette with watermelon.

Lapinlapin · 07/03/2017 10:06

Ice sorry you're having a rough time Flowers
Hope things improve for you soon.

I've been doing the no sugar thing for nearly a week now and am actually feeling a lot better. I had a horrible headache on about day 3, but that's gone now. I miss sweet stuff, but at least I'm not craving it as much as I was.

I'm eating a lot less but the scales still don't seem to be reflecting it Sad

I'm not really sure what my start weight was. I was about 11.7 before, but a few weeks of eating crap meant I'd put on a few pounds again. Think I'll do a proper weigh in tomorrow, and then at least I can measure my progress better.

Bibs2014 · 07/03/2017 12:42

Just had a Pret sweetcorn and quinoa soup for lunch.

Wenchelda · 07/03/2017 13:24

Yesterday wasn't too bad -

5k on bike.
B - 2 hard boiled eggs & tomato; tea
S - flavoured latte
L - tuna & sweetcorn sandwich with side salad; tea
D - chicken korma, 2 poppadoms, small piece of naan bread

So I'm sure the korma would have taken me over my cals (not sure how to log it on MFP as homemade) but I had no snacks all day so that's good.

Today I've had :

B - 1 slice of seeded toast, 2 boiled eggs, 3 cherry tomatoes; tea
S - flavoured latte; 3 spoonfuls of Nutella straight from the jar BlushBlushBlush
L - carrot & coriander soup; 1 slice of bread.

Not sure what dinner will be yet but I am struggling to eat anything other than very soft foods at the mo as I have several mouth ulcers appeared at once (probably due to the stress and anxiety last week) and jeez they are painful!

Doing my 5k on bike right now - normally if I don't do it first thing in the morning then it doesn't get done but it was either this or fold & put away the laundry and I HATE that job so much, I'd rather do the exercise bike! Grin

Bibs2014 · 07/03/2017 18:15

Well done on the exercise biking!!

Had a snack of avocado on toast. Chicken with salad for dinner.

SmellTheGlove · 07/03/2017 21:43

wench having 3 spoonfuls of Nutella is actually very restrained and to be applauded - I would have eaten the whole lot! Under cals today for me, but that is merely a tiny dent in the massive over indulgence of yesterday. Changing my official weighing day to Friday as it is 5 weeks on Friday til I go to NY. Aiming for 3lbs off by then which doesn't sound much but I'd be very happy with that.

Bibs2014 · 08/03/2017 12:58

Sorry for sporadic posting yesterday Blush.

Today's menu: avocado on toast, ham salad, curry and rice, fruit and yoghurt. YUM!

Lapinlapin · 08/03/2017 13:23

Well I weighed in this morning and am back to 11.7

Hoping to lose 2lbs a week if possible. Will keep Wednesday as my weigh-in day I think, seeing as I restarted the diet last Wednesday.

Flashinthepan · 08/03/2017 14:33

I weighed in on Sunday and still 10.7 but yesterday was 10 stone 5. Hoping next official weigh in will show that i've kept that 2 pounds off. Eating has been going well although didn't stick to it at all Thursday/Friday as was at bro's wedding. Also been exercising lots and regularly for the last few weeks so trying to be positive about that, even when the scales disappoint me.

MillieMoodle · 08/03/2017 21:22

Have had a bit of a rubbish couple of days. Not really snacked or eaten loads but have had too much bread type stuff and feel very bloated. Hoping for a better day tomorrow!

Bibs2014 · 09/03/2017 10:50

Lap - good luck for the coming week!

Flash - well done on the 2lbs off , hope it stays off for next WI!

Millie - come on, back on it today Grin

Good day for me yesterday, hoping for another one today.

Menu -

shredded wheat, ss milk, fruit
pork salad for lunch
steak , baked potato and veg for dinner
fruit and yoghurt, popcorn

Wenchelda · 09/03/2017 12:10

Gah! I wrote quite a long post yesterday morning but now I come back to the thread, I can see it didn't actually post Angry very annoying as I'd listed 2 days worth of food.

Ah well. I haven't done exercise bike today or yesterday but will still hit my Fitbit target of 5 x a week as I will be cycling to & from work tomorrow and Saturday.

Food today :

B - porridge with banana; tea
L - bacon & egg sandwich on seeded toast; flavoured latte
D - gammon in slow cooker; roast potatoes; veg

Should come in under my cals as long as I'm not tempted by afternoon snacks!

One thing I'm really struggling with is getting my step count up. My Fitbit tells me I only average 5-7k, which is rubbish. I've got my target on there set to 8k but i very rarely seem to hit it unless I am "out for the day" rather than just going about normal daily life. How can I improve this? I have to drive dcs to school as although it's a walkable distance (just over a mile) it's down a twisty country lane with no footpaths so not safe to walk along. What can I do to really up my step count? Do I just need to go and walk up & down the street a few times?! Going for a walk by myself seems so dull! I need a dog but DH would never agree

Lapinlapin · 09/03/2017 16:37

Wench I get my steps by doing the school run normally. Going for a run obviously helps too!
If I've not met my target, I often just do stepping at home (in front of the TV). Dh thinks I'm mad, but it works! You can even get youtube videos for walking and increasing step counts. Someone recommended them to me once, but I'm afraid I can't remember what they were called. I'm sure a search would bring them up though.

SmellTheGlove · 10/03/2017 07:12

I also get most steps when I do the school run. My job involves quite a lot of running around though so I probably do a fair few but I don't have my phone on me so can't count those. I've had a really stressful and busy few days at work plus DH has been away for work for a week so I've been eating much less - so today's new official weigh in is 11.9 (and one eighth!)!!! Very pleased. Mind you today I am off work and baking for the cake sale so that may not be good...

Flashinthepan · 10/03/2017 09:11

Nothing is happening! I'm back at 10.7. I've exercised twice a day every day this week! I've been watching food and portions! Haven't lost any inches either.

SmellTheGlove · 10/03/2017 10:58

flash just keep going! I think that is the secret (for me anyway) - I am just trying to not fall off the wagon when I don't see progress. And I think it has made a difference, because I may have only lost 10 pounds since we started this thread in October (I think it was!) but that's more than I've managed to lose in years, and it's just because I'm not giving up!
