Just got back from holiday this morning and while I feel like I've stayed the same or even lost a bit ( I don't weigh myself as I don't want reasons to celebrate or commiserate) I want to continue with the healthy eating I did while there

I was pretty careful . Limited myself to one treat a day, a gluten free cake , ice cream lolly with chocolate and nuts around.

I never bought any chocolate ( unusual for me). Very few potatoes. I found veg and protein was enough in that heat.
Not a big drinker. A gin and tonic for me is a tonic with a splash of gin a couple of times a day and we walked for miles.

So....I have a wedding coming up next year and I have four lovely dresses to choose from. Two I got married in ( knee length rather than bridal). One champagne, other a kindd of French beige. I can get them zipped but can't breathe in them.

Then I have a pale green and a pale pink. They are unworn as they were new last year and I couldn't wear them as I'd put some weight on.

So...my plan is to practice healthy eating and intermittent fasting till Christmas.

My usual breakfast omelette but this time allowing more than 13 hours of fasting between dinner the night before and breakfast. Green soup. Today's looked putrid but tasted fine. It was a rich dark blue green as a teaspoon of spirulina went in as well. Plus a few cashews and a bit of feta

Tonight will be homemade turkey curry. Eaten by 7 to allow for the fast.

I don't want to go back to chocolate or crisps when I snack.
It's going to be painful as Im Already gluten and mostly dairy free, so I can only cut back on sugary snacks and it's so much cooler here so I want to eat.

I'm also going to look into mindful eating.

Anyone with me till Christmas.

Then it will be a couple of days off. Then back on till our next break in march where I'll have to watch myself for the wedding in may.

I like to have a goal.

Apologies if I was making assumptions! I know real Indian food is nothing like British Indian restaurant food!
Congratulations on the weight loss!
And seriously - perhaps you could share some of your recipes? Healthy Indian food would make a great change from eggs and avocados.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 31/10/2016 12:16

Konyaa apologies too..

That sounds delicious.. and well done with the 7lb weight loss that's fab!

BrillianaHarvey · 31/10/2016 12:30

X-posted! I shall definitely try those - thank you for sharing them.

BrillianaHarvey · 31/10/2016 12:32

PS what are the Bengali whole spices that you use?

Dowser · 31/10/2016 17:04

About to enter danger zone.

Good luck Dowser! Stay firm.

Tartle · 31/10/2016 17:29

I 100% failed my Halloween party test. 2lbs on since yesterday (is this even possible?)

Really need to stop dieting all week and then drinking all my saved calories at the weekend!

BrillianaHarvey · 31/10/2016 18:13

Oh no! But it can't be actual fat, more likely retained water and general crap. (I speak as someone who apparently gained 5lbs in three days recently. ) Don't lose heart - it will be gone before you know it.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 31/10/2016 18:34

Stay strong Dowser!

I've stuck to my diet so far today....but despite not having a sweet tooth, I can feel the DCs Halloween sweeties calling me from the kitchen, so I'm practicing some willpower Wink Luckily there's never anything like that at work, so I feel 'safe' for most of the day!

RonBurgundysMoustache · 31/10/2016 19:07

Dowser stay strong you can do it!

Tartle you can't have put on 2lb as others said it must be retained water.. it will come off in a couple of days I'm sure!

NoTractors keep strong you are doing so well!!

BrillianaHarvey · 31/10/2016 21:22

Dinner: stir-fried chicken with asparagus and mangetout. Rice for the boys, none for me. Large boy (24) and small boy (8) both eminently satisfied. Job done.

Dowser · 31/10/2016 23:16

Hmmm...not the worst in the world ...but not the best.
It went like this
I toasted marshmallow. Icing off 3 small cakes
Quite a few nachos with cheese and chilli
Couple of slices of cheese
1 chicken drumstick
1 large gin and tonic.

No dinner!

Dowser I think you should be congratulated on sticking to one toasted marshmallow.
Horrace good luck with weigh-in tomorrow. Small boy had never knowingly eaten asparagus before but I think it was effectively camouflaged by the mange touts.
What's everyone's Tuesday menu plan?

Dowser · 01/11/2016 03:46

Omelette
Green soup
Some kind of protein, veg and small carbs like bit of rice, sweet potato

Morning all. No Halloween party to tempt me here thankfully. I am back to work today ( Sad ) so my plan is a porridge pot at some point in the morning, 200 cals, homemade veggie soup for lunch and not sure about dinner yet. I even weighed all the veggies for the soup so I can work out the calories in it. Breakfast and lunch will be the same tomorrow. The talk of asparagus has made me want some, it is probably my favourite veg Grin
Have a good day everyone

feedmelollipops · 01/11/2016 07:08

Yesterday was okay.
Benefit bar
Chicken with a bit of stuffing for lunch
Omelette with peppers and onions and cucumber
6 Marshmallows
1 small packet of haribo

Halloween sweeties gone now!

My weight is back down to 9 stone 10 so nearly back to where I started.

Did 12k steps yesterday and will aim for similar today. I think the stomping around all day does make a massive difference.

BrillianaHarvey · 01/11/2016 07:26

Good morning ! I have come down with a filthy cold so can't taste anything, don't feel hungry, but nonetheless want to stuff myself with cake.
Great news, lollipops!
Dowser, sounds like you're sorted for today.
New Year - the asparagus was delicious!

ImBrian · 01/11/2016 08:10

Can I join, I've lost a stone since August but I've levelled out a bit now. I want to loose a few more pounds to give me more of a buffer zone before I hit 10 stone.

I've spent half term away and managed to put 5lb on! A stomach bug has sorted it out and it's mostly gone, though I now need the stomach bug to go.

Hi Brian! A stone since August is brilliant work. My target is exactly the same - to weigh under 10 stone consistently. What's your strategy been?
Sounds like a good plan, Horrace!

ImBrian · 01/11/2016 09:01

I'm using mfp and find it much easier if I put in what I'm having first thing so I can plan snacks. I'm a massive evening snacked mainly down to boredom I think.

The weight I am now is the lightest I've been since before number 4&5 came along so I'm pleased but I hate how easy it is to go back to ten stone if I over do it a bit. I'm thinking 9st8 which is still in the healthy bmi range.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 01/11/2016 09:30

Morning ladies

ImBrian welcome.. a stone since August fabulous work! I'm the same want to be under 10 stone is love to be 9st again but think 9.7 is prob more realistic goal now!

Yesterday was good.. had tow weetabix with skimmed milk, home made veg soup and then slimming world chilli no rice!

And in breaking news I didn't eat any Halloween sweets! We have loads left over and I didn't eat any.. (am quite amazed at myself really!!)

Hope everyone is doing well this morn!

RonBurgundysMoustache · 01/11/2016 09:31

Sorry for all the typo's above.. my baby is sitting on my head at the moment! 😬

Richardhun · 01/11/2016 09:38

Oh I'm in, the children have gone back to school and I need to shift half a stone by December 6th. (Big event)

I have lots of time and no excuses. I will do the intermittent fasting as I'm good at that plus excercise. I might do tone it up Tuesday kettle bells.
