Just got back from holiday this morning and while I feel like I've stayed the same or even lost a bit ( I don't weigh myself as I don't want reasons to celebrate or commiserate) I want to continue with the healthy eating I did while there

I was pretty careful . Limited myself to one treat a day, a gluten free cake , ice cream lolly with chocolate and nuts around.

I never bought any chocolate ( unusual for me). Very few potatoes. I found veg and protein was enough in that heat.
Not a big drinker. A gin and tonic for me is a tonic with a splash of gin a couple of times a day and we walked for miles.

So....I have a wedding coming up next year and I have four lovely dresses to choose from. Two I got married in ( knee length rather than bridal). One champagne, other a kindd of French beige. I can get them zipped but can't breathe in them.

Then I have a pale green and a pale pink. They are unworn as they were new last year and I couldn't wear them as I'd put some weight on.

So...my plan is to practice healthy eating and intermittent fasting till Christmas.

My usual breakfast omelette but this time allowing more than 13 hours of fasting between dinner the night before and breakfast. Green soup. Today's looked putrid but tasted fine. It was a rich dark blue green as a teaspoon of spirulina went in as well. Plus a few cashews and a bit of feta

Tonight will be homemade turkey curry. Eaten by 7 to allow for the fast.

I don't want to go back to chocolate or crisps when I snack.
It's going to be painful as Im Already gluten and mostly dairy free, so I can only cut back on sugary snacks and it's so much cooler here so I want to eat.

I'm also going to look into mindful eating.

Anyone with me till Christmas.

Then it will be a couple of days off. Then back on till our next break in march where I'll have to watch myself for the wedding in may.

I like to have a goal.

Horrace - go you! How fantastic Grin

Scales are down 1lb, so I'm hoping I'm on the downward slope again! No socialising planned, and Mr Tractors doesn't share my love of wine odd creature so will be on the straight and narrow for the next week or so Smile

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 22/11/2016 20:02

Ooooh - got the tape measure out, and whilst the weight on the scales may not be shifting as quick as I'd like, the inches are dropping off!
I've dropped 3 inches off my waist since the last time I measured - I knew I was feeling less bloated, nice to have it confirmed Grin

I'm also feeling much healthier - easily hitting 5 portions of veg a day (used to be 3-4 on a good day, incl fruit) and I'm not missing pasta or bread very much at all. I've really gone off the thought of crisps which is really surprising! I've not had the massive surges in energy I was promised (or perhaps hoping for) but I'm pretty much decided I'm going to keep this going past Christmas, feels like these are good changes to keep going Smile

RonBurgundysMoustache · 22/11/2016 20:13

Tractors that is fab.. well done! 3 inches is a massive amount! You must be so pleased!

And well done on the positive attitude!

Dowser · 23/11/2016 11:49

Wedding dress day today...and we are one whole month in.
Anyone want to share this months total weight loss?
So tried the dresses on. The loosest one I think I could possibly eat in. The tighter one I wore for my Tenerife wedding, I can breathe in . So not quite there yet.
I was 10-5 when we left last year for the wedding, so I'm guessing I'm about 10-10. Numbers don't mean much as my legs are skinny and in September they probably were a bit swollen.

Wow tractors how have you lost 3 ins yet weight isn't shifting much. I'm keen to know.
Had a poorly day yesterday I too was bloated. They definitely wouldn't have fit yesterday. I think I've picked up a bug. I had no choccies or gin , but did have a good bit of cheese and biscuit for dinner as I couldn't face more veg.

So, two weeks to my holiday. When I get back will have 4 days till Christmas.
However, I will be keeping to my programme as much as possible as my first thought is to get my digestion well.
I will be having a treat every day. But will be keeping it to bare minimum.

Gonna be tough.

Hope you are all making good choices and hope you are pleased with your monthly weight loss if you've been keeping track.
Look at the bigger picture...not just the week by week loss and gains.
We spoke to someone running a cancer research stall and she had two fake chunks of blubber. One was a pound and the five pound one was so heavy and looked huge.
About the size of a newborn baby.
Bear that in mind if you feel disappointed.

Wise words Dowser! Great news on the dresses too.
My total weight loss is 9lbs. Fairly pleased. Another 5 to go!

9 lbs. that's brilliant Harvey. That's nearly two of those chunks of fake blubber. That really will weigh heavy. Over 2 lbs a week. I'd be well chuffed at that.
Aw Horace love. I know this isn't the relationship thread but that doesn't sound very loving. He might have a problem but it's not nice to leave you feeling miserable about yourself for doing something normal

Could he not have said...I'm struggling right now so I'm going to sit on my own upstairs till I feel a bit better. Give you a hug and go nicely.

If he's out to dinner tonight...he's going to be in a right state when he gets in.

Glad you're day went better.
I'm still poorly. All I've had is omelette and butternut squash soup.

Liver stir fry for tea...sounds revolting but tastes like steak .;-)

Well done everyone Grin, and Flowers for Horrace - hope today is a better day.

I'm a total of 10lbs down - but most of that was in the first couple of weeks, I've been pretty stagnant since then. Lots still to go, but it's a good start Grin Thanks for all your support so far!

Dowser - I didn't lose too many inches in my first few weeks (when I lost most of my weight) so I'm not sure how I've lost 3 inches in two weeks when I've only lost about 2 lbs. Maybe my body is a bit weird! Definitely feel less bloated on low carb diet, so I'm sticking with it Smile

RonBurgundysMoustache · 23/11/2016 18:05

Hey ladies

I'm 8lb down, so another 6lb to go or hopefully a bit more if I can manage it.. although seems to be staying at same weight Hmm

Horace as Dowser said that really wasn't a very nice way to behave toward you for doing something that you need to survive! Next time he behaves that way, make him aware that it leaves you feeling upset and lonely he can handle it much more sensitively.

Dowser · 23/11/2016 18:14

Everyone seems to be averaging 2 lbs a week.

That's fantastic. I hope I'm in the same category.
I ought to be. I've been blooming hungry.

Another fourish weeks to Christmas and at this rate we should all be amaze balls as someone said at the beginning.
I'll be on the style and beauty thread asking what I can do about my newly developed wrinkles.

Ahh not as fun as a sausage vehicle but good for the waist line! Wink

Dowser · 24/11/2016 12:06

Well a good day by default.
Haven't been well for two days. Only ate about 3/4 of my dinner last night.
Had no chocs or g and t for two days now.

Starving during the night.
Miserable way to lose weight...if I have.

Hope you're feeling better soon Dowser Flowers There are so many nasty bugs going about at the moment.

We have had an interesting dinner...the chicken I was going to use was rank (tiny slit in the top of the packaging to blame), so the DCs have been filled up with cheese on toast and we've had a random hard-boiled egg, olives and avocado combo Blush

We should have just got a takeaway but everyone was starving, so may have started a riot if they had to wait any longer Grin

Thank you. I'm a little better. Got a funeral tomorrow. A good friend who lost her 8 year fight against cancer the day after my mums funeral.

I've also had the upset of having my account suspended as I've been reported for spamming the boards.
I've had a terrible few hours as it's an email I really don't use now. Thank god I kept a note of passwords ( thank you dh for that good advice).
I've blamed my ipads, both of them, our internet carrier . Did I touch a wrong button and lock myself out?
This is a new iPad and a several things are so different and I really struggle with that.

With not being well and everything else going on in my life I ended up in tears with the sheer frustration of just what mistake I made with the iPad.
But as for spamming the boards...I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to have done ...it makes me nervous to post tbh.
It's just nice to be back with the supportive Christmas crowd.

Let's get on with the weight loss.

Awww thank you Horace, that's really cheered me up.and I've had a nice apology from HQ.

I'm just relieved it's not this blummin ipad...it thinks it's too clever for its own good sometimes.

Well I've had three days of very low calorie eating thanks to not feeling very well. I spent most of last night starving hungry. I've never understood why people feel the need to eat during the night ( sleep has always been my priority) but I could have eaten for England in the wee small hours.

I didn't but feel empty and skinny today. ( in my mind naturally)

Hoping I've turned the corner now. At least by keeping my food as simple as possible I've given my body every chance to heal.

It's a nightmare trying to find organic eggs. Most chickens tend to stop laying in the winter. So that's a worry.
Hope everyone has a good day. I'm going to jump in the bath and get there early for a parking space as there will be crowds there.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 25/11/2016 10:49

Dowser glad to hear you have had an apology! It's bloody ridiculous.

And glad you are feeling better, by next weigh in bet you see those scales going down!

Hope the funeral is as ok as it can be Flowers

Horace hope you feel better soon

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 25/11/2016 17:53

Dowser Flowers - hope today has gone as well as could be expected, you have been through the mill lately!

Horrace - hope you're feeling better too!

Good day so far - but there's a pasta bake in the oven for the DCs and I'm drooling ever so slightly at the smell of it Blush. I have a steak and salad for me and DH, so staying strong, but it is quite hard!

BrillianaHarvey · 25/11/2016 18:07

Evening all! Sending you lots of good vibes, Dowser - you really have been having a time of it.
Been baking all day for the school Christmas fair. Had a poached egg on rye bread with smoked salmon for breakfast but nothing since - no time.
Down to 10 stone 3 this morning- official weighing day.

Dowser · 25/11/2016 22:26

Thanks folks.
Still not 100 percent.
Such a lot of love for my friend. Had to wear bright colours. Was so pleased I wasn't the only one wearing a pink coat :-)

Baked two cakes for the second part of the healing your home course tomorrow.

Memo to oneself ( don't bake cakes when you're trying to lose weight. Had to have tasters. I'm always tweaking the recipe)

Good luck with the weekend everyone.

OP posts:
Dowser · 27/11/2016 08:54

Too hoo everyone.
Hope you're not all sat beneath a pile of quality street wrappers, empty crisp packets, popcorn packets, cupcake wrappers...empty wine bottles?

I'm on a healing your home course this weekend, in my home so I need to spring up and get cracking.
Yesterday was just pants. Felt ill, 3 hours sleep food all over the place...but the course was great.

Today, better sleep more energised and have a ice better positive mental attitude.

Hope you're all good ;-)
