The No S Diet [title edited by MNHQ]

I've decided that I finally need to commit to losing my baby weight. I have 2 stone (ideally more to lose). But will just take it half a stone at a time. I am not really into crazy diets. So I've gone for the 's' diet which is basically eat sensibly diet! No snacks, seconds or 'sweets' (includes cakes etc ) except on days beginning with s (weekends and special days). So three meals a day basically. Does anyone want to join me or be my supporter? I lost 1.5 lb the first week, but then gained 0.3. Next weigh in is Monday and today I was 2.5lb lighter so I'm hoping I will have lost something. I am piling up a bit on the meals but figure that I need that to stick to it at the moment. Hopefully as I adjust I can make the meals smaller/healthier too. Looking forward to the weekend for a pudding and some wine!

Thank you posie.

Yes, snacking is my main problem! Vastly improved but not conquered yet.

PosiePootlePerkins · 01/03/2017 18:37

You'll get there! Its a gradual process.

twofloorsup · 01/03/2017 18:51

Beela don't be too hard on yourself you're doing brilliantly especially under the circumstances.
Hope your stepfather is going to be ok.
If you're ok with it I think you're less likely to quit too.

twofloorsup · 01/03/2017 20:36

I have discovered that my morning porridge can just as easily be shredded wheat or semolina or rice pudding (made without sugar) as it's just a vehicle for the yummy things I put in it. It's all about the same texture and fills me for a long time.
Happy days (it's the little things) Grin

twofloorsup · 02/03/2017 21:40

Where is everybody ?
Not all gone back to slimming world i hope Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 02/03/2017 21:59

I'm here! Definitely not at Slimming World! Grin Just plodding on. Minor victory today when an uneaten and still warm piece of pizza went in the bin. It was calling to me for some minutes!
Hope everyone is having a good week.

twofloorsup · 02/03/2017 22:25

Nice one Smile
I used to have real issues with food going in the bin now I can see it's more of a waste to eat something you don't need.

GohomeRoger · 02/03/2017 23:15

I'm here, lurking shamefully. This whole week has been a write off, in fact I've just polished off a gu cheesecake pot thing. I really don't want to give up, but my motivation has gone out the window.

twofloorsup · 03/03/2017 04:30

Gohome just keep going one cheesecake isn't total failure.

And it's nearly the weekend Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/03/2017 06:33

No shame needed roger. This is the most forgiving diet I have ever followed. Just get back on it the next day and try again. In the early days it is all about forming habits so just keep trying! I find it helpful to post on here (I also have a daily check in on the NoS forum) as it keeps me motivated and accountable. Good luck, one more day until the weekend!Smile

Cocopopsrule · 03/03/2017 07:05

Morning all

roger dont worry. write it off and move on. Building new habits takes time and effort . Ive also had a week where Ive not been focused. As a result it's weigh in day and I've gained one of the pounds back from the 2 I lost last week. But on the plus side, today's a new day and I can start again.

beela · 03/03/2017 09:31

Morning all, I'm still here too Smile

I've not braved the scales recently but might today (we don't actually own any so I have to make a special effort). Rare child-free day off today so meeting up with friends thus morning and then going for lunch. No dessert, of course Wink

AristonAndOn · 03/03/2017 16:36

Shamefully heading back. After a weekend and a birthday with allowed treats, the extra food has triggered terrible binging. I feel terrible and need big kick up the bottom 😢😢😢

twofloorsup · 03/03/2017 16:49

I thought you were all a bit quiet Wink
I've just had lunch at work which is something I generally avoid but it was ok today they were showing off their sugar free creations so I tucked in.
Pumpkin porridge is a thing of loveliness, who knew !

beela · 03/03/2017 17:15

Pumpkin porridge Hmm I'll take your word for it! Still pondering the idea of rice pudding for brekkie.... with fruit compote? Could be very yummy. That might be next week's experiment for me.

beela · 03/03/2017 17:16

Ariston don't worry! Just get back on it.

AristonAndOn · 03/03/2017 17:39

Honestly I need to but in just a few days I have lost confidence and control. I want to believe I can eat some things in moderation but I always seem to blow it.

beela · 03/03/2017 18:29

Seriously, you've been doing brilliantly, and the weight loss proves it, so you can do it. Don't let a few not so good days put you off completely.

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/03/2017 18:48

Ariston I can only echo what beela has said. You have taken the first step by posting it on here. You have made such great progress and this is just a blip. You have shown that you are strong enough to do this. Don't dwell on the mistakes, just focus on getting back on track. Flowers

twofloorsup · 03/03/2017 19:23

I'm loving the rice pudding.
Today I had it with nuts seeds coconut mandarins from a tin and dates. Very moreish Smile

twofloorsup · 03/03/2017 19:25

Ariston try going back to the no S website and read all the gumf again it may help you refocus ?

AristonAndOn · 03/03/2017 20:38

Thank you two, Posie and Beela. Having a major crisis it seems and my first thought was to post here and knew the support would be fantastic so thank you. I will read up again. Feeling upset that I can spiral back into bingeing so very quickly. I had some birthday cake, then the next day skipped breakfast to make up for it, then before I knew it I was restricting and bingeing 😦 I need to follow the rules this time.

twofloorsup · 03/03/2017 20:59

Binge and restrict go hand in hand Ariston I don't think one can exist without the other.
Enjoy your weekend then commit to No S again Monday.
Always here for anyone who needs it and have found the support here incredible myself.

PosiePootlePerkins · 03/03/2017 21:25

Flowersto all the lovely posters on this thread. Isn't it amazing how complete strangers can come together and support each other. You all just seem to get itSmile
We have almost filled this thread! So one of us will need to start a new one soon.
Ariston I second having another look on the NoS forum and maybe even start a thread on there about your current struggles, I have always had great support from other posters.
Have a good weekend.

AristonAndOn · 03/03/2017 23:53

Unable to sleep tonight as in pain with stomach cramps and nausea. I'm guessing as I've not overeaten for about 2 months, my system is not pleased with me. I hope I feel better in the morning so I can start afresh.
