I have yoyoed with the same stone since the beginning of last year. Getting fed up now but need some motivation to stick with it. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm so near yet so far!

Will be weighing in tomorrow and posting all food eaten. Feel free to join me!

I don't have any scales, so I'm just guessing at my weight, based on how my clothes fit.

Twinklestar2 · 20/02/2016 22:13

Well done everyone Smile

I have to start again - sorry Blush

I'm starting again too, I had too many calories on friday and saturday as usual....

Biscetti · 21/02/2016 14:29

I'd like to join in too, please. Want to lose around 16lbs, and aiming for around 2lb/week. I think I'm going to go the 5:2 route, as have done it before and lost a good stone then (and kept it off). Just need to dig out my self discipline from wherever it may be hiding...

Biscetti · 21/02/2016 14:30

Ah, and I'm 10st 9lb, and 5'6".

BloodyDogHairs · 21/02/2016 18:01

Friday and Sunday are the day's I struggle! Friday because I've been good all week so I get a takeaway then Sunday as it's my shopping day and the fridge is full of lovely tasty food. I'm having macaroni cheese tonight but I'm back to counting cals tommorow.

Twinklestar2 · 21/02/2016 18:05

Welcome to all the newbies.

I promise to be good tomorrow, I haven't been too bad today but I'll be super good tomorrow, promise!

Joining you too. I lost two stone last year eating paleo which is lowish carb so will continue with that. Need to lose another stone then reasses. I don't eat wheat/grains, dairy or sugar. Smile

SmellTheGlove · 21/02/2016 18:16

I fell spectacularly off the wagon this weekend as it is DH's birthday tomorrow so I've been baking licking the bowl cakes and also he has just returned from a work trip overseas bearing huge amounts of chocolate. Which I have eaten. So I actually put on a pound this morning Blush . Tomorrow is not looking good either with birthday lunch out....

SquadGoals · 21/02/2016 18:21

Leviticus - you are my twin! I'm 5ft9, currently 74kg and looking to be 64kg.

I lost 5kg in the past couple of months through going to the gym and lowish carbing. Past week, I've had a mare due to having 3 wisdom teeth out - I've been unable to eat and also feeling horrendously sick. The only things I can keep down are really unhealthy stuff like McDonalds and chocolate hob nobs. I'm telling myself that my body needs the calories after not eating for a week.

I'd love to be down to 64kg in the next couple of months - FIL is 60 in May so I'm imagining lots of photos etc. After managing to avoid the cameras at BIL's wedding last year at 79kg, it would be nice to get some family pics.

Trying to get back this week to healthy eating. Think it will be another week /10 days until I can go to the gym again, still feeling very sore.

Twinklestar2 · 21/02/2016 22:56

I've made soup for lunches this coming week.

Will post in morning with my weight - gulp!!

Talulaley · 22/02/2016 00:50

I'm going to start in the morning and try and stick to it.

Anyone got suggestions for breakfast? Usually I have a buttered crumpet or toast with butter and jam. I've got some porridge, but is that any better? Just cutting out chocolate, crisps and cake will help tbh.

So I guess my plan for tomorrow is porridge with half milk half water for breakfast, soup for lunch (I've only got canned at the moment though) and jacket potato with baked beans and salad for dinner.

Talulaley · 22/02/2016 02:26

I've never tried 5:2 before. Can anyone recommend a good resource online? Also what sort of things do you eat on a fast day? 500 calories isn't a lot Shock Would it be things like soup, lean chicken with lots of salad ..? I'm not sure I could eat salad without some sort of dressing ..But otherwise it sounds manageable if it's just two days a week.

SmellTheGlove · 22/02/2016 08:35

Talulaley porridge for breakfast is really good, or wholemeal toast with nut butter (you can get peanut butter with no sugar). But only a tiny bit ie small teaspoon of the peanut butter as its really high in calories! I have either of those and a piece of fruit and actimel and that comes to about 250 cals. I don't know about fast days as there's no way I could stick to 500 cals! I try to do 1400 everyday. I'm really annoyed today as weighed myself and put on 2lbs in 2 days!?!?! This is what always happens and I get so disillusioned I give up. Even though I know it will go in a couple of days as its just water weight I hate seeing it. Going out for lunch today but happy to have nice salad. Good luck everyone, new week and all that!

Twinklestar2 · 22/02/2016 08:44

I lost an undeserved pound and am now 10st 9.

Good breakfast options are porridge, eggs or shredded wheat.

I've made lentil soup, what can I have with it that's healthy?

fadingblonde1 · 22/02/2016 13:10

Smelltheglove that happens to me also and I end up just maintaining my weight. I had about 1,200 cals yesterday and will have to really try hard this week as I'm going out for a meal on Friday. To consistently lose weight I have to be strict all the time, I don't seem to have any leeway for 'treat' days, I have to be sensible all the time.

CeciliaMiddleton · 22/02/2016 13:20

I agree completely with jennyleth - this is my favourite diet recipe - super nutritious and delicious and quite easy - also uses up left overs www.culturewhisper.com/r/article/features/recipe_of_the_week_gut_healing_bone_broth/6563

SweetAdeline · 22/02/2016 13:23

Squad and Leviticus, I'm another with very similar height, starting and target weights. Before kids I was never heavier than about 66kg. Since kids it seems there is no upper limit Sad. I've been making an effort since I discovered I was 12st (so about 76kg?) lose a bit quite quickly, but can't seem to stick to it for more than a few weeks.

SweetAdeline · 22/02/2016 13:25

In my case it's also all tummy fat which is probably why i'm pre-diabetic despite a "healthy" bmi. Tiny frame and no muscle - I could be tall and willowy if I didn't bloody love food so much.

Twinklestar2 · 22/02/2016 18:28

Pleased to report that I've had a good food day today - so far! On way home now Smile

Can I join up too? DS3 is 3 months old and I have a stone to lose. I know that the weight will hang around and make me feel really crap if I don't make concerted effort to get it off.

I'm 5'2" and weighed 9st 12.8 this morning. I need to be under 9st to look reasonable and really 8st 10 to look good. I've good s hulking great spare tyre at the moment.

I'm an emotional eater for sure. Having a crap day? Eat a biscuit. Bicker with DH, have two. Get cross with the boys, have another three. I have a sweet tooth and seemingly no will power...

Using mfp and restricting to 1200 cals plus 30 day shred is what has done it for me in the past but need to make sure I don't just lie to mfp and omit to add in a couple of rounds of biscuits. How pathetic!

So if it's ok with you guys I'll try to post in here instead of actually eating the biscuits.

My birthday is in four months and want to be back to fighting weight by then. It should be doable if I don't sabotage myself. It's just about will power right?

Twinklestar2 · 22/02/2016 21:11

Welcome hinky, I'm sure you can do it. How's today been food wise?

MinnieLatte · 22/02/2016 21:34

I've had a fairly good weekend, no alcohol at all!! I did have pancakes for breakfast with DD on Sunday ( as I am determined not to make food an issue in front of her & have 'banned' foods) but I didn't scoff loads.
I ate normal food but made my portions smaller & had loads of salad to bulk it up.
What's really surprising me is that I seem to have developed some willpower! Not sure how but honest to god I have not cheated or snacked once. This evening could have been a prime opportunity- I worked late, got home to an empty house (DH out at activities with the DCs) & I prepped my dinner & ate it without raiding the fridge or making a cup of tea with 5million biscuits to keep me going. This is brilliant for me, I need to hold on to this when I'm struggling.
Downside is I've hardly exercised at all. I've walked the dog lots but nothing more than that.

twobambinos · 22/02/2016 21:46

Welcome to all the new joiners. Well done losers.

Squad hope your mouth Heals up quickly
I got 3 out a few years ago too. They did a super job so was able to eat the next day and here was me thinking it would help me lose weight.

2 lbs down by me I'm delighted to be moving in the right direction. Another 4 pounds would start to notice it I think.

Hinky Same height as u and same ultimate aim. And probably same birthday month. Don't be so hard on yourself. The belly will fade in time. Sounds like a good plan by you too.
