I have to do something.

I'm ashamed that I've allowed myself to get so huge. I've been in denial for years, avoided full length mirrors for years judging new clothes on how others say they look. I

I've downloaded MFP, brought a jawbone up2 tracker, got a pair of weight watchers scales, a pack of slim sip and am determined.

I've tried weight watchers, slimming world, Cambridge diet, orlistat, and a dietician. The next step for me is surgery, which I don't want.

I started today, anyone like to share my journey?

Ooohhh our first troll?? Does that mean we have officially made it as a popular thread?? Haha

stumblymonkey · 25/02/2016 20:05

What did the troll say? Any ideas?

stumblymonkey · 25/02/2016 20:05

I know it's only my second week but finding SW fab!

CrazyDuchess · 25/02/2016 22:08

Nope - gone before I came

Been having such a good week- until the all you can eat buffet this evening...... feel horrible now : (

CrazyDuchess · 26/02/2016 08:12

Well the scales did not like the all-you-can-eat buffet Blush

Water water and more water!!

stumblymonkey · 27/02/2016 16:49

Where has everyone else on the thread gone...OP and others....are you there?

CrazyDuchess · 27/02/2016 23:56

I'm still here.....

stumblymonkey · 28/02/2016 11:55

I think it's just us Duchess Grin

I'm still being pretty good about sticking to SW....no binges so far and it's nearly two weeks which is probably the longest I've gone for a couple of years!

CrazyDuchess · 28/02/2016 16:05

Well this is also the longest I've ever stuck to committing to lose weight and determined not to lose my mojo. Do we start a new thread or keep going with this one??

stumblymonkey · 28/02/2016 20:53

Let's keep this one going...people might come back or join in Smile

I've slightly fallen off the wagon today as went out for a three course lunch but I ate healthily for breakfast (porridge) and dinner (soup) so I figure I will still be okay...it's only one meal and with so much to lose I don't think it will make a great deal of difference!

I weigh in on Tuesday so looking forward to seeing what the scales say about it!

elizalovelace · 29/02/2016 08:15

I'm still here! Just plodding along, I have lost another 2lb this week so 24 lb in total! But have 57 lb to go to reach target weight..so still a long long way to go. SW seems to be great, my friend has lost loads on it but I'm veggie, no meat or fish so I think I'd struggle a bit but defo would consider the plan if I could have plenty of options. At mo I try to stick to lowish carb, lowish fat and low sugar, smaller portions etc. Hope you all have good week.

elizalovelace · 29/02/2016 08:19

Forgot to say i use MFP to log all my food and drinks, its free to download and i find it very useful.

weaselwords · 29/02/2016 08:25

Hi! I'd like to join in please. I'm over 19 stone and need to get to around 12 stone. Doing weight watchers half heartedly and need a kick up the bum. Loads of health problems that would be considerably better if I were a lot lighter. The pain in my back and hips is motivating me.

elizalovelace · 29/02/2016 09:07

Hi weasel (waves) I have a lot of health problems too, doubt losing weight will help with my problems sadly but it can't make them worse. I can't exercise at all and even walking is difficult, hence my huge weight gain but I feel losing the weight gives me some control over my body which I have lost since becoming ill if that makes sense? It keeps me motivated looking at threads like this one, hope it helps you too.

stumblymonkey · 29/02/2016 09:29

Hi Eliza and Weasel...

24lbs is brilliant Eliza....how are you feeling now you're two stone lighter?

You can definitely still do SW as a veggie...I have a meeting in a couple of mins but later I'll let you know what the free veggie options include in case at some point you want to change up your plan.

I've been lucky so far...no weight related health issues...even my blood pressure and blood sugar levels are perfect (very unexpectedly!). I'm sure this couldn't continue though!

elizalovelace · 29/02/2016 19:21

Thanks! Any info would be good, you are doing great....No I don't feel much benefit yet for losing the weight but as I'm only 5"2 and 185lbs I'm still very overweight, size 20. Maybe another couple of stone off and I might feel a bit better. Does anyone know if OP is still around? Found that post very motivating to kick start my own weight loss journey.

stumblymonkey · 29/02/2016 19:45

OP hasn't checked in for a while...hopefully she will come back and say hello to the people she's inspired Smile

Okay...so veggie 'free food' (eat as much as you want) on SW are:

Pretty much all veg, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pretty much all fruit, quorn mince and pieces, textured vegetable protein/soya protein, tofu (plain or naturally smoked), fat free natural fromage frais or yoghurt, muller lights, low fat cottage cheese, quark, eggs, pretty much all pasta/rice/grains and pretty much all types of beans and lentils.

Then you get spices, vinegars, stock, soy sauce, fat free dressings, sweeteners, tomato puree, vegemite and low cal cooking spray free too.

You also get one of the following: small portion cereal, crispbreads or bread, nuts/seeds

AND one of the following: Approx 250-400ml of milk (depending on type of milk) or small amount of cheese.

AND

You get up to 15 Syns per day for other stuff.

elizalovelace · 29/02/2016 20:50

Wow that's much more than I thought! I love all of that food although thats what i eat all the time anyway and im huge so must be eating giant portions lol! Thanks so much I really appreciate your helpSmile

CrazyDuchess · 29/02/2016 21:23

Helloooo! Everyone seems to be doing so well. I need to get back on the wagon - just too much going on in my world (yes excuses excuses )

Xxx

frumpet · 01/03/2016 18:34

Hellooo !

5 foot six ( absolutely not shrinking due to age whatsoever ) and 16 stone and 9llbs . Would ideally like to lose 3 stone by August and the other three by Christmas , hah !

Still struggling with a plan for my weight loss , feel carbs < hard stare at wine and bread > are my main enemy . Love everything green , only drink 1% milk , could eat salad all the time if I am allowed a teensy dribble of olive oil on it , cheese is a bit of a problem too ;)

elizalovelace · 01/03/2016 19:33

Hi trumpet and welcome!I have been trying to lose weight for a couple of months now. I'm hoping by Christmas to have lost at least 5 stone, 2 off since early Jan so far. I don't really follow any one diet but if you interested in low carbing there is a great thread onhere as well as all different types of plans aswell. Good luck on starting your weight loss journey and hope you will find this thread helpful too.

Sunflower1985 · 01/03/2016 19:54

Hello. Looking for sources of control. 18st. Want to get to 14st. My weight before I had my ds (now 2.6yo). There seems to be cakes at work (birthday, leavings, holidays) practically every day plus I eat when stressed (I must be very stressed).
No-Biscuit's for everyone

frumpet · 01/03/2016 20:09

Thank you Eliza , 2 stone off since January , well done ! which plan are you following ?
